What I wore and what I made

What I wore and what I made

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today, I want to show you what I wore to go shopping and what I made for my new eating plan.

To start us off…welcome to Texas!  Around here, we have big boots to fill.

In case you are interested here is the STORY OF THE WORLD’S LARGEST COWBOY BOOTS, located at North Star Shopping Mall in San Antonio.

So, let’s discuss what I wore when Leigh Ann and I went out and about this week.

WHAT I WORE

What I wore

This was one of those difficult days to dress for in San Antonio.  I was cold when we left and burning up when we got home.

I really like this Liz Claiborne Long Sleeve Regular Fit Button Down Shirt from JCPenney.   It is 100% rayon and very cool and comfy to wear.  I love the feeling of this fabric.

The sleeves of this top roll up nicely so in warm weather I can easily wear it without a jacket.

I have really enjoyed my a.n.a. jeans (worn here) and both Leigh Ann and I believe their jeans are super comfy and have great fit.

I will have more to show you next week, but for now, I came home with the a.n.a. Women’s High-Rise Straight Leg Jean in Natural.

I also brought home the a.n.a. Women’s High Rise Skinny Jeggings in White.

Shopping with Leigh & Me will feature a JCP trip next week and we can show you more!

On top, I wore my Chico’s long denim jacket with a moon brooch from Anthropologie.

The ELONGATED DENIM JACKET is currently at a great sale price.  I have really enjoyed it.

I put this together from my closet and believe it tells everyone I am joyful, approachable, creative, polished and current!

WHAT I MADE

What I made

I am still on my healthy eating plan, but now everything filters through the Weight Watchers app.

One of my favorite things to make is this Three Bean Salad…I created….on my app it is only one point for the olives.

I take a can of organic red beans, organic garbanzo beans (chick peas), and organic Northern beans.  I drain them and pour them into a mixing bowl.

Then I add one chopped onion, four cloves of minced garlic, a small jar of artichoke hearts, a cup of sliced green olives, and one jar of Jeff’s Garden Roasted Bell Pepper Strips (including the juice).

I stir it all together along with a teaspoon of garlic salt and a tablespoon of Italian seasonings.

This makes a large amount so I keep it in the refrigerator for meals or snacks.

What I made

One meal looked like this…a cup of the bean salad, sliced tomatoes, and strawberries with cinnamon.  Yummy and on track!

It is also really good with Feta Cheese sprinkled over it.

There are so many beautiful spring items showing up these days.  Here are a few we discovered….

All of the talk about spring has me ready to turn over my closet…I hope to do that this weekend.  What are your plans?  Please share and remember WOULD YOU WEAR IT is tomorrow!  Hope to see you back then.

KEEP SMILING, EVERYONE!

  1. I sure wish those jeans weren’t so short on me. I’ve tried them on twice now in the store and I can’t tell you how silly I look in cropped pants!! These look like a normal length on you. I’m only 5’4″, but the inseam is just too short. I keep wanting to find a pair that fits like yours, but they just don’t. Your bean salad looks good. I love three bean salad! Tonight is our first night of Friday fish fries, so the vegetable and grains go out the window for tonight!! Rumor has it that we’re going to have a couple nice days this weekend, so I’m going to make a point of getting out for a hike. These teaser days are rare, so we have to take advantage! A closet clean out sounds like fun, and I look forward to that when spring finally arrives.

  2. I never look forward to changing over my closet but always glad once it is done. Enjoy your hike Karen!

  3. Hi Pam, really like your outfit today , I was hoping you could tell me the name of clothing dye you used awhile back , I have some black T by Talbots pants that are still in good shape but a little faded and would like to dye them instead of replacing them

  4. Gonna try the bean salad. Looks yummy! I love all the ingredients and sounds like there is a lot of flavor in each bite! You look great! Love your beautiful smile!

  5. I enjoyed the story of the big boots, and am curious about their composition, what they are made of. Will try to read more about them. Sadly, my closest JCP store closed several years ago during their change of administration, and I am no longer close to one. I do not like to pay shipping fees whIch is one reason I order from Chico’s. Springtime has hit South Georgia as our azaleas are in full bloom as well as redbuds, Japanese magnolias, and pine trees. Unfortunately that means lots of pollen, but temps near 85° which is nice. We need to eat more beans so will try your recipe. Bought our first tomatoes and okra of the season at Farmers Market that opened this week. Yes…Spring is here!

  6. There is a lot of flavor in it…if you love beans, you will like this and of course you can roast your own red bell pepper strips.

  7. Nothing is really blooming here yet, Celia…I am watching for it. I understand…Chico’s passport program is amazing and I wish other retailers would learn from it!

  8. I’ve been jealous of your a.n.a. jeans since you got them :). I’m going to give the new version a try. If you have a tummy, would you size up, or just wear your regular size? Our store doesn’t carry them, and it’s hard to buy online without knowing how the brand fits. Also, do they stretch a lot after wearing?

  9. I would size up…they do stretch, but not too much. I typically wear a 16 in many brands, but I wear a 18 in the a.n.a jeans. At first they felt uncomfortable, but once the stretch began, they were great and you can see I wear them often.

  10. Your outfit really strikes all the points in your foundational five! I’m meeting up with some gal pals that I used to work with for dinner next Wednesday. Looking back thru your posts for something to inspire my outfit.
I bought the Comfortiva shoes that you are wearing from the link you posted for Nordstrom Rack. My first purchase from Nordstrom, ever. I LOVE those shoes!! May order another color while they’re on sale.

  11. Great idea, Deanna…I also may go look at them on sale! They are excellent shoes and I am asked all the time where I got them when I am out and about.

  12. Pam, just stopping by to say “howdy” from Fort Worth and thank you for inspiring me to do a partial turn of my closet this weekend, since it’s supposed to be rainy here. I know we still have some winter weather days ahead, but I have some transitional pieces in spring colors that will help to brighten up my closet until we can pack the wool away for good. Thanks for creating such a bright, positive space on the internet. You are the only style blogger I still read daily, and you’ve become my role model for transitioning my wardrobe to more casual pieces as I get closer to retirement.
