What I wore last week

What I wore

Happy Monday!  Welcome to a synopsis of What I wore last week!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I began some much needed attention to my plants outside and started to pot some new flowers and bring a little springtime in.

I will not show you what I wore for that! But, I was busy doing other things….so let’s get started!

WHAT I WORE: DINNER WITH FRIENDS

What I wore

Leigh Ann and I met up with the fun ladies we worked out with at the gym for years.

Sadly, the pandemic brought that to a screeching halt, so we have needed to be more purposeful to get together.

We always have fun and these ladies were instrumental into getting me into strength training.  I will be forever grateful to them.

What I wore

We met out in the Texas hill country for a very, very casual Texas dinner at the Antler’s Cafe.

I wore what I have on in the first picture.  I love this Chico’s denim jacket in a soft off-white.  I am so glad I picked one up a couple of years ago.

Now, that I do not wear stark white, this one is proving valuable and I wear it often with my Chico’s jeggings.

I paired it with my new Spring Bloom Every Day tee shirt from Loft; an older necklace and my gold metallic sneakers.

I felt polished, yet, appropriately casual.

WHAT I WORE: SHOPPING ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY

What I wore

On St. Patrick’s Day, I needed to head out to my favorite mall, and decided to wear a little green in case I ran into people I know.

What I wore on this trip was the jacket again; the green striped tee shirt and shoes from my BLAIR POST ; and a fun springtime colorful scarf.

I am a big fan of this tee and the shoes and will get much mileage from both.

WHAT I WORE: DINNER WITH A FRIEND

What I wore

For going out later with a friend,  I wore a dress…but with leggings!

My legs were not quite ready for primetime yet!  I actually like a look like this when the weather is cooler.

This is the PLEATED BUTTON-FRONT DRESS in a color called Dark Green Papaya.  I love the color and comfort of this dress!

It went perfectly with my old scarf from Johnny Was…which was a gift for writing about them.

I will have more for you later in the week from JJILL.

WHAT I WORE: TO THE DENTIST

What I wore

What I wore to the dentist always includes a thought about comfort and wearing clothing that does not wrinkle in the chair.

This is the Loft Patchwork Bloom Every day Pocket Shirt that I told you Leigh Ann and I both purchased.  The fabric wears and feels wonderful.

I put it on with a Talbot’s navy cardigan; red beads from Soft Surroundings;  and my pull on Talbot’s Jeggings.   Navy cardigans currently at Talbot’s.

My old one is a little large on me now…I need to keep my eyes open for a new one!

What I wore

Let me add here that I love wearing gold sneakers!  I am so glad that I added them when my colors were confirmed.

I encourage all of you autumn-ladies to add gold metallic shoes to your wardrobe.

Here are some for you to see…..

What I wore

Here is how Leigh Ann wore her shirt a couple of days later….we were practically twins!

What I wore

I am going to post some of things I have been eating recently now that I have returned to the Weight Watcher’s App.

I am just one of those people who can be successful if I log it in and now that the app syncs with my Fit Bit, I am really enjoying it.

When I went out with my work-out friends, I ate the grilled shrimp, pinto beans, and friend okra.  This meal was only 5 points…and it was all okra…but I had it to give!

I left behind the Texas Toast…which is difficult, but somehow easier this time and I chose to only drink water and not wine or beer.  Success in eating out!

I will show you some of the products this week that I am really enjoying on my new plan.

It is not a diet to me, but finally a way for me to become a healthy eater and have it stick.  I feel like my bad habits are beginning to melt away.

I hope you enjoyed this report on What I Wore Last Week and that it gives you ideas on how to transition to spring where you are!

Let me know if you have any questions….and hopefully I will see you tomorrow….now make sure that you ….

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I LOVE fried okra!! That looks like such a treat!!! I am away this week for a little getaway, so will have to see how I make out with my usual plant-based diet. Lots of bakeries and Amish restaurants where I’m staying, and that’s pretty tempting!! Your outfits look very comfortable, yet polished and ready to go out. Your scarves are so pretty… scarves are on my list for when I check out the shops this week!

  2. Pam you look so pretty and pulled together in these photos. Fun times once again post pandemic!
Everything you had to eat here looks really yummy!
Last- I too just love Navy blue! It’s the color I’m wearing if I ever get a compliment. I’ve made a mental note if that! You and Leigh Ann wear it beautifully too.

  3. Your pretty and casual outfits remind me that I need to get into my closets to put together some outfits. Our Tallahassee newspaper this morning had an article about buying clothing from second-hand shops in order to reduce our carbon footprint as the clothing industry produces 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions. I have closets full of old clothes, some I could wear and some I cannot, but tempted as I am, I do not NEED to buy new clothes. You give me ideas of combinations that will work for me.

  4. That is why I do this, Celia! To give you ideas. I went thrift shopping over the weekend and will have more fun to show you from that trip soon.

  5. Nice looks today … I remember when you were all at the gym, and the ladies encouraged each other. We have started back at yoga at our gym, and only one other of the old crowd is back. Still, it’s wonderful to be out again. One thing I’d like for these types of posts is seeing your handbag choices. I’m struggling with this a bit since all my purses were very structured during my working years. Since they were good ones that wear like iron (I’m looking at you, Brahmin), I’m not sure I want too many replacements, but do need some casual options.

  6. Hi Linda, I will do something soon for you on the handbags…but since I changed from Brahmin to Patricia Nash crossbody’s…I am not thinking of the Brahmin at all. I have some amazing large bags that I carried when I worked to put a laptop and papers in. They are just sitting here. I miss the bags…but love my new lifestyle. Also, my favorite straw bag was a consignment shop find! I will look for more for you and post soon.

  7. I agree with Celia in that I am trying to purchase only what I need. I’ve lost weight, so there are things I actually do need … but I also am looking through my closet to come up with outfits. I have a really nice navy cardigan that I don’t wear often enough (open) but am going to try to use it more. I love the green dress on you. I wish I had your eye for style b/c I would not have purchased it just viewing it on the website – but the way you’ve styled it, it’s polished and flattering.

  8. Hi Maeve, wear that navy! You will be glad you did. I will have more from JJILL tomorrow!

  9. Happy Monday, Pam! Thanks for showing the green JJill dress with leggings. I’ve been eyeing it every time I go in the store lately, wondering how it would look on me but not having the time or patience to try it on. That is so flattering on you, and I’m with you on the need for leg coverage this time of year. Also, I really enjoyed the retirement style video. I am hoping to retire within the next two years, so I made a rule that any clothes I buy now must be able to transition to retirement. Having worked in an office with a “business formal” dress code for the past 24 years it will be a bigger shift for me than for those who have been allowed to wear jeans and more casual looks to work. I am getting some great ideas from your posts and just wanted to say “thank you!”

  10. You are welcome! I am so glad you are here and that is a smart rule for your purchases going into retirement!

  11. I really like your dress with leggings outfit! Here in Canada, where it’s chilly so much of the year, I have totally embraced wearing leggings with dresses. It’s just too bad that they weren’t a thing back in the day when we girls were required to wear dresses to school!

  12. So true, Elaine…you have me laughing…but when my daughter was in private school, they all wore leggings under their dresses in the winter!

  13. Thanks for sharing your out & about looks! I have some appointments this week, & these are the types of outfits I favor now that our weather is warming up a bit. I’m really glad that sneakers are available now in such cute styles. They are my shoe of choice when I’m doing a lot of walking.

  14. The color of the green tunic dress is gorgeous (!) and extremely flattering to you. Love it!

  15. Have you ever tried thred up . Get great chicos c,others slightly used for great prices l designer shoes and purses too . It’s an online thrift store

  16. Yes I have Susan! But other readers may not be familiar, so thank you for mentioning it!
