4 Favorite Spring Jackets – Look #2

Favorite Spring Jacket

Welcome back to my little mini-series about my 4 favorite spring jackets….and today is Look #2.

When I placed the word polished in my style adjectives it was there for looks just like the ones I am sharing now..

I just believe even a loose fitting, jacket styled to be oversized can add a touch of polish to our style.

Also, below, is today’s style adjectives for another reader ….Marcia.

FAVORITE SPRING JACKET #2

Favorite Spring Jacket

Yes, you have seen it before and I am wearing it often….

This is the  New Day Women’s Linen Blazer at Target in Orangeit had to be in my favorite spring jackets….just love it.

One of the readers who saw this jacket on me last week went to Target to try it on and said that I undersold it!

Sorry about that ….it is a great jacket…and so affordable.

Here is what reader, Suzi, wrote, “Update. I have been on the hunt for the current trend of oversized linen blazer. Just not willing to spend over $100 to see if it works for me. Sooooo I located your orange blazer in a local Target and tried it on. Oh my Pam you undersold this blazer! It is perfection, color, material, construction, the lined panels and it hangs beautifully; at 1/3 the cost. I’m 5’3” with short waist and broad shoulders. (Just regret I didn’t order thru your link.). Thank you for what you do.”

The lining is beautiful and well done…so for $34.99…my cost per wear is plummeting downward!

Thanks to Suzi for sharing her insights!

WHAT I WEAR WITH THIS FAVORITE SPRING JACKET

Favorite Spring Jacket #2

Most of today’s look is from my wardrobe.  The Chico’s cuff and Soft Surroundings necklace have been in my collection for a long time.

The Chico’s reversible tank is perfect for this jacket…no matter what side I wear it on.  I believe this was a spring piece from three years ago.

Still online are:

Denim Pull-On Jeggings in Dark Rainier Indigo

Sarna Wedge Fit Flop Sandal in Rose Gold

I decided this Spring to enhance many of my warmer looks with rose gold…I think it adds such a lighter, nice touch to what I wear in warmer weather.

Just say I am “springifying” my autumn looks….yes, I created that word!

There are so many fun rose gold selections right now…here are a few….

Also, we discussed wearing brown on the post Saturday, and accessories are a great way to sneak a little brown into your style.

FAVORITE LOOKS FOR READERS

Favorite Spring Jackets

It is always fun for me to select pieces for readers in order to communicate what they want to say with their personal style.

We started yesterday, so this is day two and the reader we are meeting is Marcia.

Here is what I know…Marcia has a birthday this month and will turn 70! (Happy Birthday to you!

She wants to tell the world that she is classic, tailored, feminine, and fun.   Four adjectives work just as well.

She is a winter/cool colored lady and small framed. She retired five years ago, and wants her retirement style to be more put together…I see casual chic!

Marcia, here is your slideshow…let me know what you think!

So glad you are joining us for this favorite spring jacket series this week…are you wearing jackets this spring for casual chic styling…let us know!

  1. Pam, thank you for putting together outfits for me. This is so much fun! I would wear ALL of them! You really have a gift for matching ladies with their style. Now I need to go shopping. 😊 Many blessings to you, Pam, and thank you again.

  2. Once again, I can relate to these adjectives that Marcia picked and really like the clothes you selected for her. Just goes to show how you can have a preference for classic styles yet still be very current! I like the contrast between your jacket and the dark top and jeans. You’re right, that does look polished. The jacket is a great way to brighten up any basics, but I do like it with the dark colors. I’ve been making friends with linen the past few years and while our spring/summer season is short, I have been adding linen pieces. You sure can’t beat the price on this one! It’s a good way to participate in the oversized trend without a big financial commitment!

  3. Exactly! I really wanted a jacket like this but did not want to spend a lot. This one amazed me from the moment I put it on at Target!

  4. Hi Pam! You look gorgeous and more slim than ever! Love this printed tank top with lovely blazer and your cute toes too! Still a bit cool here for sandals but it’s coming!
Fighting allergies ( like half of America ) but I will survive! Happy Monday! Happy Birthday Marcia!

  5. Hi Paulette…I feel your pain. I am very allergic to oak…trees that I love, but this time of year it is so hard on my asthma. I was at my allergy doctor last week and will be there this week. I know it is hard to be allergic to such a lovely season!

  6. I (and my husband even more) suffer during free pollination season too (mainly in May here). I hope you feel better soon! I like the salmon with navy … I seem to be liking everything with navy these days. I was wondering if you would consider putting together some “forbidden” combos … in the spirit of brown with black, or navy with black, but in … navy and chocolate! I was reading somewhere the other day that French women consider this the epitome of chic. In theory, it should work, brown being really just a shade of orange, which always looks great with blue. I tried it, and I wasn’t sure. Perhaps my navy isn’t bright enough to contrast? It is the only combo in my autumnal closet I -so far- can’t put together.

  7. I will make a point to do that Linda. That is really what I was doing yesterday mixing cream with white…going a bit out of my comfort zone. My color palette calls for me to wear Marine Navy which is a little different from traditional, but much more difficult to find. I did add more navy recently so in the next few weeks, I will see what I can mix up for you. I have always loved brown with black, but now that black is retired for me, I do not have as much to work with as I previously did when I mis-tagged as a Winter Woman. Thanks for asking.

  8. Happy Birthday to Marcia!! What a lovely selection of clothing to match her style adjectives. I like the idea of softening to rose gold. Do you have any jewelry pieces or scarves you could show?

  9. Just adore your accessories!! I’m a simple clothing but a great wearer of accessories and love great handbags!! I used to love stand out shoes as well but now that I have a difficult time walking and I’m on a walker I try not to draw much attention to my feet because I need special shoes!!! I adore your articles!! I just found you recently!!!

  10. Well Pam you have done it again! Not sure I would have thought to pair the orange linen jacket with darker black or navy because in my head linen is spring and summer. However, I LOVE this look today and it is giving me ideas. 👍🏻 AND I have a small “stash” of Native American pieces, old and contemporary in silver and turquoise, that I will pull out and wear with this jacket. As always, thank you for what you do.

  11. Wow! That line from Target’s New Look deserves a second look! The jacket looks fab on you. Love the jewelry. I have been mixing more leather and cork based pieces with my gold bangles. I should try it with my charm bracelets. Fun!
Happy birthday to Marcia. I will be 70 in September. It’s liberating! I love all the clothing that you chose for her. Very elegant and sophisticated, all looks I love. Autumn is a difficult season to ‘springify’ so I am watching you closely! You reminded me that I have a 10 year old lime chore jacket. I am going to work that in. It is still brisk here in coastal Maine, so I haven’t reached for it yet.
Thank you for all that you do for your followers.

  12. I think my comment was blown away …
Pam, this is a great series. I’m waiting to see all of them before I order but plan to purchase the Montauk jacket you showed yesterday. I really love your suggestion of ivory-white pairing as I have the same issue. White near my face looks unfortunate, but I have lots of white trousers. Your comment will help me save some; thank you!
BTW, I would think that wearing a good quality mask would help mitigate allergies: after all, they’re designed to filter out allergens, dust, etc.

  13. Marcia and I have been close friends for 52 years! The adjectives she used to describe herself are spot on! And Pam, I could easily see Marcia in any of the clothing you selected for her!

  14. Thanks Maeve, you are so kind. I love that Talbot’s jacket more and more every time I wear it…it is the perfect off-white!

  15. Ruth! This is an amazing comment! To hear this from someone who knows a reader this well is incredible validation! Thank you for sharing!

  16. Pam, you’re very welcome! Marcia is a great friend and I appreciate that she shared your blog with me! BTW, I think I need to go to Target to look at that orange blazer which is my new favorite color.

  17. It’s a great blazer! I am so glad I found and also glad to have you joining us here!

  18. I can relate to Marcia’s adjectives & am somewhere on the winter spectrum, so I enjoyed the slide show of items for her. I would wear many of them myself. Your blazer looks great & does not seem to wrinkle all that much. At that price, you really can’t go wrong.

  19. Marcia must be my kindred spirit. I’ve been struggling with my adjectives and Marcia did it for me! And you put together a slide show that sent me straight to the order pages. Thank you both.
