Stopping by Kohl’s

Stopping by Kohl's

Happy Thursday, ladies!  Today, I am sharing a day recently which found me stopping by Kohl’s.

Since Monday, I have shared information to get us all in a budget saving state -of -mind during high inflation times.

So, occasionally throughout the summer I will make a stop by a retailer with savings in mind.

Just a reminder about Leigh & me shopping trips…we have been crossing paths lately busy with family, so hopefully by mid-June we will be on the trail again!

So, here are a few thoughts about my local Kohl’s.

It is a mess only because they are building a Sephora in the middle of the store, but I was still able to spy some items.

STOPPING BY KOHL’S – ABOUT FIT

Stopping by Kohls

Everywhere I go right now, I am between sizes and it is so interesting how it differs at each retailer.

At one my normal size will be too large and at another too small.  Finding good fit for me was an issue when I stopped by.

For example, This lovely Draper James dress almost skewed two sizes too small though it was marked a Large.

I will say the quality of the dress was exceptional….just remember it fit smaller than marked.  Comments say it fits true to size but I would disagree with that.

I am really into blazers lately and when I see one in my size, I take it with me to the dressing room.

This is the Nine West Double-Breasted Blazer in Marsala Flower. The blazer itself felt great.

But if you look up to my shoulders you will see the creases which prevent a proper fit…and I think the built in shoulder pads are a part of the problem here.

It fits on the shoulder but the puffiness up at the shoulder just did not work…so sad because I love the color!

Here are some items I saw that I really liked….

STOPPING BY KOHL’S – THE WINNER’S CIRCLE

Stopping by Kohl's

I really like the button down shirts by Nine West.  This is the Nine West Draped Shirt in Faint Whisper but it does come in many colors.

It also is available for Plus Size and Petites.  I like the shirt a lot…it could be very versatile and the colors I saw where lovely.

I also like this ruched detail on  the  Simply Vera Vera Wang Ruched Tee.

It sure helps a tee from being boxy and gives it a nice look.  This is the Pierre Peach color.

I also liked the look of the Nine West High-Neck Cutaway Sweater Tank…in the fall this would look nice under a blazer with jeans.

Since we have been discussing coastal style recently, this bag by Rosetti captured my attention.  There are several designs with this stripe.

This color of pant is called Beau Brown and as an autumn-palette girl, I really liked it.

These Simply Vera Vera Wang Simply Modern Ankle Pants are a nice pant, good fit and nice fabric. Comes in several colors.

I was really impressed with this athletic wear by a brand that is new to me FLX.

If I lived in a cooler climate, I would give this a try…cute designs.  But heavy fabrics, so I expect it not to sell so well here.

Stopping by Kohl's

This was my favorite garment of the stopping by Kohl’s trip.

I have actually been looking for a cute oversized vest and I like this one by Simply Vera Vera Wang.

This is the Simply Vera Vera Wang Sleeveless Blazer, and while I like it, I did not want to pay full price for it…so it stayed behind.

I did make a purchase on this trip to Kohl’s…it was a $5.00 Napier Brooch in my orange and gold colors…I will wear it for you soon.

How many of you are Kohl’s shoppers?   Do you mind sharing why you shop there…it might help other women!

Thanks so much for being here today and make sure that you always stay safe and…..

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. Well, I’m definitely not a Kohl’s shopper because the store in my area is a mess on a good day, not for remodeling. Maybe it’s just me, but Kohl’s seems to me to be fast fashion. Also, the dressing rooms are not maintained and there are mountains of clothes left behind by other shoppers, so for these reasons I don’t go. You, however, found some things that are nice. I like that blazer too, especially the color, but you’re right, it is too big through the shoulders, where fit is critical. It seems when blazers are too big in the shoulders, then the sleeves are too long and the fit is then off. Too bad, because that’s really a beautiful color. This is why I don’t have any luck shopping online, because fit is critical. I have known a few Kohl’s shoppers so I’m guessing the stores are not a mess in their areas!

  2. I agree with Karen. I’ve only been in one Kohl’s store and the inside was so messy. I wondered if that messy interior made one think that what one bought was inexpensive. I have not been back. I love a good bargain but wading through unorganized items was frustrating. I do like the Draper James dress, but would feel I needed to try it on. I also like the blazer you modeled. It made me think of you recently when I saw a similar colored blazer on the Chico’s site in a clay color for $9.98. I did not buy it because that is not a good color for me, but I thought of you since it is your color. Several ladies on the Chico’s site have been wearing it.

  3. Ours has very nice dressing rooms but the rest of the store is a mess. They made decisions to bring in Sephora and become a return location for Amazon. We will see if that helps or hurts their sales.

  4. I tried on pieces that also come in other colors. There are some beautiful clay-like colors in several places now.

  5. I haven’t been in Kohl’s in years. In those years, there weren’t Petites, so I haven’t been back. Today, the nearest Kohl’s is miles away. In prior days, the Kohl’s store was an organized place to shop. The coastal bag is nice and a good price, but as I don’t go out much, I don’t need a new bag. Thanks for modelling.

  6. I appreciate that you are displaying clothes from all price points. I have not been in Kohls for awhile, but I have found some cute items in the past. I also like the long-sleeved shirt. I usually stop by and check out the jewelry. They also carry the bras I like.

  7. Our Kohls has a Sephora and is an Amazon return center. Despite this remodeling already having been done some time ago, the store is messy to the point where there are items on the floor under the racks, huge pending restocking racks left in the aisles, piles left in the dressing rooms. Quality is so hit and miss. Often the silhouette or color draws me in, only to see that the fabric is thin and the threads are hanging. I will look if we are there for a small appliance or something, and I’m sure there are values to be had, but the end of season sales at places like Chicos net me better quality at similar/less cost and frustration.

  8. We don’t have a Kohl’s store in our town, but I have shopped at one up in Gresham (a suburb of Portland, OR) that was immaculate and well stocked. I found some exercise leggings and a couple of very cute sweatshirts that were not your standard boring fare. Mine are a beautiful lilac and the other is a peachy-creamsicle kind of color. Makes suiting up for an early morning walk a cheery prospect! I remember browsing their kitchenware section and was impressed at the selection.

  9. I do have to say that my Kohl’s store is always clean and sparkling. Yes, they need help with dressing rooms and getting items back out onto the racks, but overall the store is a good shopping experience.

  10. I like the Croft & Barrow line at Kohl’s for basic tee shirts because they are budget friendly & are a bit heavier than some brands. I also have some button front shirts from this line. I have purchased accessories such as purses, belts, earrings & hats at a good price. The Amanda jeans from Gloria Vanderbilt fit my particular shape well & come in petites & plus sizes. I have worn both in recent history. They often have linens & other home items that are budget friendly. Like all other retailers, they are short staffed & will occasionally be a bit messy, but I have found this to be true at Macy’s, JCP & even Talbot’s.

  11. I really do not like Khol’s but that’s just me. I do like Talbots & Chico’s.

  12. Love that blazer with your animal print tunic- unfortunate that the shoulder is off. Love the color too! And that dress is something I might change my mind on “dress avoidance.”
Beautiful! So sorry the fit was off.
Our Kohl’s is a hit or miss on merchandise and well kept dressing rooms. Sometimes tidy, other times not tidy. There is definitely a staffing problem in our area. All retailers are feeling it.

  13. For many years, Kohl’s was my favorite place to shop for clothing and accessories. I would find nice items to wear to the office and beautiful jewelry on the clearance rack. Now, Kohl’s has changed to mostly casual clothing. If I do happen to find a dressy Simply Vera Wang blouse, often there are none in my size [ medium.] I am very disappointed that they don’t carry some dressier clothes. I started shopping at TJMaxx and Marshal’s and have found several beautiful dresses, slacks and tops at very good prices. I must say I now prefer these stores. I do like the Rosetti bag you found and also u look very nice . This was the first time I saw your site – thanks for showing what u found.
