My Current Favorites

Happy Monday, everyone…ready to start a new week?  Today I want to mention a few of my current favorites.

This is an opportunity for me to show you what I love and what is working in just a few areas.

Of course, let’s begin with a little fashion talk and my current favorites for casual wear.

MY CURRENT FAVORITES: SHORT CARDIGANS

current favorites

I wrote about my new love for short kimonos the other day, and I have also become a huge fan of shorter cardigans.

That moves the shorter cardigan into my current favorites category.

I purchased this cardigan at JJIll near the beginning of fall…it sold out quickly, so I am glad I bought it when I tried it on at the store.

It is one of my current favorites because of fit; lighter weight and not too heavy for South Texas; and the color…which works well with my autumn palette colors wardrobe.

I like to toss it on for errand running…doctor’s appoints…you name it.

I thought it would be easy to put together a sideshow of shorter cardigans (that are affordable), but it took some time to locate these.

Most cardigans right now are longer…most likely for colder weather….but here is what I found…there are a few high end pieces here I thought you might like to see:

Also, I couldn’t put this Soft Luxe Cardigan from Banana Republic in the slide show, but it looks lovely.

Some of these might work for your current favorites list.  What is your preference on cardigan length?  Please share.

MY CURRENT FAVORITES: GLASS CLEANER

current favorites

When we went to a shower design with more glass than before, we desired a better way to clean the glass than before.

So, I read reviews and did my diligent research to discover:

Puomue Microfiber glass cleaning cloth

Hope’s Perfect Glass Clean

These now have the Mr. B seal of approval and are current favorites on our cleaning list.

One of you asked about it on Friday, so I wanted to may sure and share.

MY CURRENT FAVORITES: SKINCARE

current favorites

So far, I have not changed my current favorites in skincare and still use all GENUCEL PRODUCTS twice a day.

You can read about GENUCEL.

Feel free to ask me any questions…just wanted you know that it remains on the current favorites list.

Thanks for stopping by today…this audience is amazing!  Have a wonderful week ahead….and…

  1. Shorter cardigans definitely require some hunting, since so much that designers are pushing is oversized. Then add shorter with set-in sleeves and you find they are in even shorter supply! I’m definitely willing to pay more when they turn up because they are timeless. It’s nice to see JJill show something a little shorter because they typically feature longer, looser styles. Your red cardigan is pretty. Agree about the glass cleaner and microfiber. Microfiber makes cleaning showers and windows so much easier due to the streak -free nature of them. I also found “Perfect Sink” that I use on my stainless farmhouse sink in the kitchen. Seem to be good products!

  2. I agree with Karen on the hunt for a flattering shorter cardigan- an idea I happen to love. But in trying a few, where they land on my hip or waist is not always flattering. I did find a deep dark navy blue cardi at Loft , which I’ve been layering and so far I like it. If I were taller (I’m 5 ft 3) I think it might be even better!

  3. I have been purchasing Talbots girlfriend cardigans when they get marked down and very often with another percentage off. Like Texas our California climate doesn’t really call for anything heavy but early mornings can be chilly. Love the color of yours!

  4. I have the same cardigan from JJill in white. I wore it often over shells this summer. I just bought a chunky one there. I can’t wait to wear it. I have another one from a different store that’s shorter too. It’s nice to have something besides the longer ones. We have glass doors too. It helps to squeegee after each use.

  5. The Nordstrom merino wool boucle cardigan is just the fit I would love to see offered by retailers more often. This sweater is gorgeous, but in checking their “large” is noted as a size 10, and there is nothing larger offered. With my shoulders, and the beautifully fitted style, it would be a mismatch unfortunately. I like the look of your red sweater. That is a flattering length. I enjoy having a variety of lengths in my cardigan collection as they are a workhorse of my closet. My longest ones act as winter outerwear on non-rainy days. I am tall, so the length works. Pairing a skinny jean with tall boots and a long cardigan is a look I enjoy, but I also like a tailored hip length cardigan with Ponte pants and a blouse for a more classic look.

  6. I have both short and long cardigans and right now I like the longer ones with jeans. I like the color of the cardigan you are wearing.

  7. A squeegee on glass showers is a game changer! Steam doesn’t leave spots, but water, especially combined with soap certainly does! The buildup on glass can be almost impossible to clean, but with a squeegee you won’t have nearly as much problems!

    Love your cardigan!

  8. So far we are finding great success with what I am showing today. We used a squeegee on the old shower and Mr.B said this new method is a game changer.
    Thanks so much Janet….

  9. My preference is a short V-neck, fitted cardigan with set-in sleeves – raglan sleeves do me no favors. A length just a smidge below my waist is best. I am 5’2″ and the proportion of a short cardi allows my legs to look longer. It’s definitely a better look for me. All these cardi requirements (plus a color in my summer season) make finding just the right one a challenge, but it’s so fun when I find a good one. Oh, I have also determined never to buy an acrylic blend sweater again, as well 🙂 The pilling is inevitable, making its wear life kind of short. You look great in your cardigan!!!

  10. I totally agree. I’m 5′ 2.5″ and the cardigans shown are all “longer’ in my view. “Cropped” cardigans appear to be having a moment now, though, so many of these work for me – sleeve length is the biggest issue. Maybe Pam knows, but I do not understand why so many sweaters are acrylic and nylon this year. Both are pretty awful ‘plastic’ fibers and don’t last, at least for me, so I don’t buy them. Pam, you look lovely in your coral (?) cardigan and so svelte! The length makes your legs look longer — and we can all use longer legs, LOL.

  11. Being shorter in stature, I prefer a shorter cardigan as the longer ones tend to hang nearly to my knees, & I don’t care for the oversized look at all. Your cardigan looks perfect for all those things you mentioned.

  12. Hi
Love the shorter cardigans. J crew had some cute ones and I also boughts a couple at target.
    Thanks
    Candice
