Take a moment to write….Dear Santa

Dear Santa

Happy one week from Thanksgiving Day, everyone!   As we look to full blown holiday time, let’s take a moment and write our own….Dear Santa….

Yesterday, I shared a story about Dolly Parton and how she still writes “Dear Santa” every year.

As women, we are notorious for placing ourselves at the bottom of the blessings list.

Some of you, do not feel deserving or you do receive much more in the giving than in the receiving.

But, seriously get in a quiet place, and take a moment……..

DEAR SANTA

Dear Santa

What does a “Dear Santa” letter look like for you?

Does it include a wish list of items?

Does it include a wish list for family?

Of course, we are all aware of the reality of Santa Claus…thanks to that generous St. Nicholas and the legacy he left behind, Santa has become real in many different ways.

It was a legacy of giving and loving.  So, I believe a “Dear Santa” letter does not always need to focus on “stuff.”

This year, when the economy is in disarray, there may be items on your list that make you think….I wish.  Write it in your letter.

When we write something down, then it takes a special place in our minds and moves closer to actually happening.

Also, I would love to know if there are deep needs you have…maybe someone here can help.

I consider this blog an audience of caring women.

So, please write your letter below…and begin with Dear Santa…..

DEAR SANTA: JOY

Dear Santa

I have one goal every holiday season and that is to share and spread JOY!

It is not a trite statement to me….however JOY can happen and become real, my goal is to share it in abundance with family, friends, and YOU!

Please let me know, how I can bring you joy over the next four weeks.

DEAR SANTA: DELICIOUS FOOD!

Dear Santa

This is just a reminder that I have made this pie,  Sally’s Great Pumpkin Pie Recipe.

It is excellent and definitely a hit with others….of course, the pie crust autumn leaves are my own decoration and fun to make with children.

I highly recommend it.

I also wanted to tell you that I took the opening picture today of a Santa at one of our local malls.  I took it years ago, but have always loved this picture…I think I use it every year.

He is a great Santa and reached in his letter bag at just the right time.

Now, it is your turn…please write your letter below….Dear Santa….I would love to know what is on your heart this holiday season…..

  1. Hi Pam! You DO bring joy to me abd im sure I speak for all of your followers. Opening up your daily messages brings a smile to my face and that’s certain!
My Dear Santa letter would be a request for one thing- bringing good health and love to my family. I’ve learned that without love and good health, nothing else really matters.

  2. Lovely thoughts, Pam. I keep a category called “Indulgences” within my Pinterest where I send all the material items that catch my fancy, a sort of year-round list to Santa. Then I keep the “Pack my Bags” category, which hold my hopes and dreams for all the beautiful places I aspire to visit. Perhaps I will direct Santa to choose his favorite and surprise me! Meanwhile, what I most hope and pray for this year is the return to health of my dear friend. Obviously sent much higher up than to Santa, but I’ll take all the help we can get for her sake. It has been a difficult journey this year, but I am hopeful.

  3. Dear Santa:
First, a note of gratitude for all of those who, like you, keep the Spirit of Christmas alive. I am a person blessed and rich compared to most of the 8 billion in the world. I don’t need more stuff so my wishes are the following: A greater sense of joy and peace for all. I have so much, and as I share I have even more.
A sensitivity for what might truly be meaningful and impactful each day. More ability to recognize the sweet moments of love, Spiritual nourishment and hope that come to each of us sometimes so quietly we miss them in the day to day hustle. More acceptance of my age and appearance. It is not bad, but it is also no longer young. I am grateful to Pamela and other bloggers for making that OK.

  4. The Santa picture is a great one. You captured Santa at the perfect moment. Good for you, that one is a keeper.
My “Dear Santa” letter would be to have much better health and to keep my loved ones safe. To stop all the gun violence and horrible car accidents across the United States. To continue my “Operative Words”
for this year and maybe next. Hope, Success, Victory, and Love.
Do you have an “operative word” or words that live for and by each year besides
    “JOY?”

  5. LOVE THIS!!! Thank you for articulating what I hoped to say but could not find the words for, especially your comment on aging and accepting our looks.

  6. Dear Santa,
You know I’ve never stopped believing in you, and that the rule at my house is “They who do not believe do not receive!” We need nothing material, but I wish good health and no holiday hospitalizations for my three asthmatic grandkids, and the gift of sobriety for my sweet musician friend who has made it twelve whole days this time. May we always keep your spirit alive in our homes and families, and may you inspire us to put a little more magic, joy and wonder into the season this year!

  7. Due to your inspiration I have been seeing JOY signs in many places and I do not need more stuff but I saw one yesterday that I couldn’t resist and bought it for myself. Christmas came early. It is white marble so will be out all year round. I have a feeling it will move around the house with the seasons.
