New Spring Favorites in My Closet

new spring favorites

Happy Thursday, friends!  We are getting closer to the official day when spring begins, so today I want to share my new spring favorites in my closet.

I am sure you. have caught on that many of my new spring favorites in casual clothing have been discovered at Chico’s.

I am going to discuss the Chico’s portion…announce a Chico’s sale beginning today…and also share with you my new spring favorites discovered at other brands.

I know many of you are cold and, in fact, San Antonio will be cold this weekend as well, but maybe we can warm things up by talking about spring.

So, let’s get started….

NEW SPRING FAVORITES IN MY CLOSET:  CHICO’S

Why so much talk of spring during cold weather?

Well, retailers are purchasing less these days so some items go fast.  If you see a new spring favorite you want, you should get it!

I absolutely love this new TOUCH OF COOL FRINGE DENIM SHIRT.

I love the way it feels, fits, and looks…I have decided to send my old denim shirts along their merry way because this is a new spring favorite.

I like it with the SINGLE FRAY ANKLE JEGGINGS IN SEA SALT.

This is definitely one of my new spring favorites and will be worn often to up my casual wear.

(NOTE:  RIGHT AFTER LEIGH ANN TOOK THESE PICTURES OF ME, SOMETHING SURPRISING HAPPENED.  I WILL TELL YOU WHAT IN SUNDAY’S POST)

I first introduced the jeggings to you in the post featuring this NO IRON STRETCH SHIRT in Chysanthemum…which is currently on sale.

I liked the top so much that I brought it home in JARDIN GREEN.. perfect for tomorrow.

It is such a good top….comfortable and looks nice in the no iron stretch.

Now,  it is one of the new spring favorites in my closet!

This is what I wore to church last weekend.

These are the DOUBLE STITCH WIDE LEG CROPS in a color called Coriander.

I like them for something different in my closet, and something a bit more polished.

I paired them with the JJILL WEAREVER EASY-CARE TRENCH JACKET IN NAVY and NORDSTROM SURPLICE SLEEVELESS TOP.

On the JJILL jacket, the comments are about how thin it is….I like that…in a warmer climate It can be worn all year…and it does NOT look cheap at all.

I completely disagree.

Back to Chico’s, a big sale begins to day on DRESSES and SHOES.…and they have several cute options of both.

Maybe these will be a part of the new spring favorites in YOUR closet.

  1. Happy almost spring. I bought the JJ Jill jacket and agree that it’s thin but think many would find it a nice layer. I would. Sadly for me, I bough the smallest size and it’s too roomy. I’m thinking of trying another one on at the store on the off-chance that it’s my jacket not the general sizing that’s off.

  2. I certainly like all of your outfits today. I already have many denim shirts from Chico’s but they all wrinkle terribly and one of the reviews of this one say how it does not, or does not need ironing. I wish the pull-on jeggings were available for us short people but they don’t seem to be. However, I’m seriously thinking of buying the chrysanthemum no-iron shirt as it’s on sale and still available in small sizes. I especially like the quote from Amelia Earhart today. Think how random acts of kindness would change the world!

  3. So true, Celia…they would change the world. These pants do not wrinkle and hold up very well! That is a great price on that shirt.

  4. Thanks for the carousels today. There were several items that caught my eye: the bouclè dress, straw and subtle print hobo bag, and the blue and yellow P. Nash scarf. I love that chrysanthemum color blouse on you!

  5. Thanks Connie! There are so many Patricia Nash pieces I love…wish I could wear them all!

  6. Since my coloring is similar to yours, I love seeing how you incorporate autumn colors into a spring wardrobe! I don’t wear as many bright colors as you do, but I get good ideas from every single post. J Jill does not seem to have nearly as many pieces in store as they do online, but I think you would love their rust and navy butterfly scarf and also the olive and cream striped French terry hoodie. I’m on my third size in that piece trying to get it right, but determined to have it because I think it’s perfect for this time of year in Texas. I can’t wait to see all your fiesta outfits, and will be taking notes, as attending is high on my bucket list. Your detailed post on fiesta the other day it was so helpful, and gave me a greater understanding of not only the history the scope of events held annually. I did have a question about the Battle of the Flowers. Do bystanders get to throw flowers or is it just a reenactment that you watch? My mom is still in the hospital and your morning post are such a bright spot in these long hospital days. Thanks for being there!

  7. Thank you for being here! It is rare to see people throw flowers. There are lots of cascarones thrown and smashed on heads. Under those fabulous gowns are all kinds of boots and shoes…so bystanders yell at every float…show us your shoes!! It’s fun.

  8. Thank you for presenting items from a variety of stores. Some people don’t have access to all of them. I’m wondering if you have any pull with these retailers to convince them they need to supply more garment measurements online. In particular, the jeggings you show from Chico’s appear to be much wider in the leg on you than my Chico’s jeggings are on me. I looked at the website to see that there are no leg measurements other than length. I especially need to know the size of the leg opening before I will order. Very frustrating to know that what various sites call “straight leg” could have a leg opening that varies by as much as ten inches.
