Chico’s Soft Neutrals for Spring

Chico's soft neutrals

Happy Thursday, friends!  Today I would like to share with you some of Chico’s soft neutrals for spring.

At the first of the year, I read somewhere that the Coastal Grandmother style colors would be out this spring…and I repeated that.

However, that information is wrong.  I have seen these soft whites, creams, tans, khaki colors in most retailers.

When I saw them last week in Chico’s, I decided these pieces were important to share with you.

So come along and enjoy Chico’s soft neutrals for spring.

CHICO’S SOFT NEUTRALS FOR SPRING: UPDATED COLUMN OF COLOR

Chico's soft neutrals

When I saw this very chic new color called Travelers Clambake…I saw it as a beautiful column of color for several styles.

We all know that the column of one color is slimming and quite casual chic.

My column is composed of THE TRAVELERS CLASSIC NO TUMMY PANT with the TRAVELERS REVERSIBLE TANK…V neck one way, round neck the other.

Most of us have known for years, that the travelers collection travels easily…packs small and does not wrinkle.

I topped this first look with the EMBROIDERED KIMONO in Alabaster.  I sized down to a S/M on this one.

I also began the try on session in a Size 3 of the pant, but ended up asking for a 2 which made a big difference.

Chico’s soft neutrals for spring included several lovely toppers like the first kimono.

This is the LACE SHORT JACKET and it is very pretty….perfect for special occasions.  It is based in white with a touch of gold in it.

Again, I sized down, but if you want more of the boxy fit then do not size smaller.

I thought this was a lovely, creative piece for the soft neutrals of spring….and you could style many different looks with it.

I do not know if this garment is soon to be released or not, but while I was writing this post, I could not find it online.

If you are interested, it is called NATURAL KNIT CROCHET PONCHO, #570347654.

As soon as I notice it online, I will update this post.

CHICO’S SOFT NEUTRALS FOR SPRING:  OTHER SELECTIONS

I wanted to show you the fit of this LINEN-BLEND STRETCH MOTO JACKET because in addition to classic navy, it also is available in white.

I like the fit of this jacket and believe you can do so much with styling it, so if you are looking for a spring jacket, it is worth consideration.

These are the NO-STAIN WHITE GIRLFRIEND CROPS I was wearing in Tuesday’s post.

I have been shopping for a white crop and even returned a couple…but this pair said YES!  I am glad to now have it in my wardrobe.

I realize this top is not a soft neutral, but I wanted to show you the rounded hem (which is slimming) and the fun sleeves.

This is the FRINGE TIER SLEEVE TEE and does come in several colors including a soft Golden Haze.

CHICO’S SOFT NEUTRALS FOR SPRING: ACCESSORIES

  1. Oh, I hope the fringed sleeve top went home with you. It was a beautiful color for you. The fit was perfect. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Tan/beige, white with natural elements of raffia, wood and straw are always in style in the spring/summer. Maybe it’s the description of coastal grandmother we should ditch? Just kidding but I find we create adjectives for the fashion industry to make it easier to identify a look. I noticed Chicos came out with the tan Traveler’s; the black has been a mainstay for me when traveling but I’m going to see if I could mix in some new pieces. Right now black/beige/white will be the basis of my upcoming travel wardrobe so I’ll definitely be looking at Chicos coastal collection. Love the crochet poncho!

  3. The Travelers Clambake column with the fancy toppings is a wonderful, classy look for you. Wow!

  4. I think the “coastal grandmother” style was a brief thing, but not the relaxed styles and neutral colors. Those things are never “out” and have been around for years. Someone just happened to label it and it stuck. These colors have always been colors that I’ve worn and will continue to wear. Relaxed linen is wonderful for summer. When you think about it, when have camel, off-white, white, etc. ever not been “in style”? They will always be in style.

  5. Maybe overthinking (I do this!), but I think “coastal grandmother” is too specific to have any real staying power. Fr example, bohemian, natural, even “fashionista”, or classic… these are broad categories with much leeway, whereas coastal grandmother is too limiting and specific. Just a thought.

  6. I agree, Karen. I have not been a huge fan of the term. I know others like it, but I prefer different adjectives. I can see “coastal” being someone’s adjective. That would work.

  7. I really believe it was the Diane Keaton movie that got it going and marketers helped spread the word!

  8. Love nearly everything you tried on to show us! And yes, that fringed sleeve top is a gorgeous color for you! The crochet poncho is beautiful! What great spring pieces!

  9. I love the the Fringe Tier Sleeve Tee, too, and just ordered it in the Agua Azul color. So pretty! I have the perfect gold and turquoise jewelry to wear with it. I just hope it looks as good on me as it does on you, Pamela!

  10. Love the blowout! Very nice layers. And the fringe sleeve top is a great color on you. Wish I could do the creams, and off whites, but I look best in white whites. Hope you are recovering still from your fall.

  11. Slightly off topic, but I had the chance to go to Chico’s last weekend. I tried on the No-Iron Stretch Shirt you featured in Geranium a while ago. It is a very French Chic, well-fitting shirt. Lots of pretty colors. Not much in my size (Chico’s may run big?). A classic white went home with me. Can’t wait to wear it with one of my silk scarves. We’re still in sweaters up north!

  12. All of these items looked great on you, Pam. I particularly liked the kimono and the lace jacket. Very classy and sophisticated without being over the top. The beige column of color is also great on you. As a summer, these colors don’t quite work for me, but I think they are great on you. Wish the lace jacket also came with silver accents. I could see that as a great travel piece to add a little dressier touch as needed. Not a fan of the coastal grandmother label, but I am not exactly sure what it is about it that annoys me. If it were coastal diva, I would be much happier.

  13. What a lovely style show. Thank you. Laid back summer neutrals but with personality. Great for autumns if you follow seasons. I would have to get some dark accents in there or I would look boring as far as color goes. It would be very easy to do with dark fisherman sandals or darker jewelry. I live in a coastal town and I am a grandmother, but the moniker has had its day! I think that the style is still appropriate for many areas, even poolside in a NYC suburb. Love the bag! We are off to Charleston tomorrow and I can’t wait to see what ladies are wearing there.

  14. What great styles and colors. I love the lace jacket. It would be on my wish list before I vowed to shop for my real lifestyle rather than my past life or imagined one. LOL. You look great in the fringe sleeve tee. The style really suits you.

  15. Thanks so much…I like these Chico’s pieces and was looking forward to sharing them with you!

  16. Your hair is cute and the slimness is showing too ! I have a lot of chicos and love their quality and wait for sales ! .you look good inna column of color ! With a jacket or blouse too . Learned that most of their styles and sizing run big and in chicos i takea smallersize than i do in many other brands ..a zero is a very generous size 6 almost an 8 and their jackets are very roomy ..especially in travelers collection .. also learned that baggy too big clothes just makes me look bigger , dumpier …
so dont be afraid to size down . Im now a 00 pants and 0 tops-dresses where as a 1 just overwhelms my short body at 5’2” ..

  17. That lace short jacket looks absolutely lovely on you! I may opt for the navy moto jacket though, because it would be perfect for my more casual workplace and traveling.
