Two summer outfit ideas

summer outfit ideas

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Let’s discuss two summer outfit ideas.

Last weekend was full of family fun and celebrations.

I thought you might like to see my casual summer outfit ideas.

One event was outside and one was inside (thank goodness!).

A reminder to all that my style adjectives are polished, creative, approachable, joyful and current.

I want each summer outfit to speak these adjectives to others about me.

So, come along with me inside my closet today and I will explain why I made these two selections.

TWO SUMMER OUTFIT IDEAS: THE BIG GENDER REVEAL

summer outfit ideas

Friday was when we discovered a baby girl is on the way before the end of the year…that is our second grandchild to come before the end of the year.

My son’s family quickly put together a gender reveal at a local burger joint.

I knew we would eat outside because the tables are next to a large grassy are where the children can play.

The foundation for my summer outfit is from JJill, and I mentioned how much I like these crops yesterday.

These are the EMBELLISHED LINEN BLEND CROPS in navy.

I have it on with the matching LINEN BLEND SLEEVELESS TOP.

Once again, I will say that I have been very pleased with these two pieces…they are cool and do not wrinkle as badly as some linen does.

I am wearing it with a topper I have loved for a long time from Soft Surroundings….they no longer work with my affiliate program, but I am going to give you the link.

The Soft Surroundings MIDAS CARDI has been a favorite in my closet. It is a great way to beautifully cover a sleeveless top.

You can dress it up or dress it down, and it is great to add to your summer outfit ideas.

Recently I picked up two long Southern Living necklaces at Dillard’s and I love them!

This one Is the Southern Living Disc Pendant Pearl Long Strand Necklace, and it is still on sale.

Yes, it was hot, but the news of a third precious granddaughter just made the whole event quite comfortable.

Oh yes, the shoes are the off white CLARKS COLLECTION LEATHER SLIDE SANDALS REILEIGH MAY on QVC.

The sandals have been marked down and I am wearing mine often…comfy and look good with my autumn palette wardrobe.

TWO SUMMER OUTFIT IDEAS: FATHER’S DAY DINNER

summer outfit ideas

We were invited to a Father’s Day dinner at our new in-laws house.

It was so refreshing to be inside away from the heat around this lovely table.

Once again, my summer outfit ideas included linen, linen, and linen.

The pants I am wearing are the CHICO’S WIDE LEG LINEN PANTS in alabaster.

My topper is also a linen garment at CHICO’S and is the NO IRON LINEN ETCHED LEAF TUNIC.

For those seeking summer outfit ideas for autumns, this is one way I do summer….though I know the outfit has a lot of white in it.

I add this EILEEN FISHER Organic Linen Stretch Jersey Knit Scoop Neck Sleeveless Relaxed Fit Tank in the color bronze.

I love this tank and am so glad I added it to my wardrobe in two colors…the other is the blue called Atlantis.

My second new long necklace is the SOUTHERN LIVING Two Tone Cross Pendant Pearl Long Strand Necklace.

I am 5’7″ and an occasional long necklace will elongate my style, and it is a slimming technique.

TWO SUMMER OUTFIT IDEAS: ANOTHER PLACE TO FIND THEM

Summer outfit ideas can be found at a variety of places, but today, you might consider QUINCE.

They will have a one day, first time ever SALE.  Woo Hoo!

I also want to let you know that the QUINCE crossbody handbag in my photo is awesome…the quality is stunning and it looks much more expensive than it is.

This is the cognac ITALIAN LEATHER HANDWOVEN CONVERTIBLE CROSSBODY bag.  I cannot say enough good things about it.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS QUINCE HANDBAG IS NOT IN THE SALE.

There you have it…my two summer outfit ideas…and I am certain I will have more for you soon.

All questions are welcome….and make sure that you…

  1. Hi everyone. I was reading a comment from Sydney H on 1 June where she commented on the holes in her tops over the button closure on her pants. Well I know the reason. My hubby who recently retired and spends more time in the kitchen now and had the same problems with his shirts and tops. We finally worked it out. He was leaning over the stone countertop to the sink and it was rubbing on his clothing and putting holes in his clothing. Hope this helps you Sydney H.

  2. I bought the same Clark slides from QVC in a sand color. I’ve worn them quite often. You look cool in the outfit from Chicos.

  3. Thank you, Shelia! I like these slides a lot…one of the few slides I can wear that stay on my feet and look good!

  4. Thanks for showing us what you’ve been up to. Your granddaughter has beautiful eyes and nice wavy hair. I really like the bold pendants on you and can’t pick a favorite, ha! And, oh gosh, is that table setting lovely. Hmm, I’m going to consider hosting my daughter’s future in-laws.

  5. Yes…host them! I love hearing stories of heritage and family my children have married into. I also enjoy watching the family tree expand the branches!

  6. The sale is happening right now. But I do not believe this purse is in the sale…I just wanted to show it to you…it is still a great price. But, Quince has many items reduced to 30% just for today. Sorry did not mean to confuse.

  7. I’ve admired that leaf print tunic and it looks great on you. I really like the way your bronze tank bring the whole outfit together. I’m a big fan of mixing all shades of brown with white pants. Your cross pendant is the perfect accessory. I also have lost a number of shirts to holes at my waistline. I’m too short to blame it on kitchen counters. A friend who had the same problem suggested it could be from the seatbelt rubbing on it. Since it only happens to my summer tops that made sense so I make sure I pull my shirt over the seatbelt rather than letting it sit under. So far it seems to have solved the issue. Happy Tuesday.

  8. Another good suggestion! I am going to be more aware of my seatbelt and clothing from now on. Thanks Kathie!

  9. Both of your outfits look cool & comfortable. I am a winter & have no problem wearing white, but I believe your bronze tank brings out the color of the leaves in your tunic. The white fades into the background. Your cross necklace is an outstanding piece. That is a beautiful table setting. I love the cobalt blue. Since I eat many of my meals alone, I enjoy using pretty dishes & glassware. Your granddaughter’s nails are so fun! What lady, young or old, doesn’t like a little sparkle in her life.

  10. Hi Becky, I always use my best dishes when I eat alone. In fact, I am doing it right now. Life is too short to not use the good stuff!

  11. Thank you so much Jill Desfray! It is my lean over the kitchen counters! I guess the stone puts pressure on the thin cotton tees I wear now that it is so hot. I’m 5’1/2” tall so I have to lean in the kitchen. Thank you for the seat belt tip as well. I’m putting my tee over it from now on!
Pam, I love both of your outfits but the white and bronze is a cool summer outfit on you. Now I want to go down the rabbit hole on Quince! I love their linen!

  12. Enjoyed the post today and the comments from others.
Thanks for sharing the table setting at your new in-laws.

  13. Oh how I love that Chico’s blouse but, boo hoo, it’s out of stock. Who knows? Someone may decide to make a return.

  14. I love posts like this, which remind me that just because it’s summer doesn’t mean we have to give up style to survive the heat. I am so tempted by that Soft Surroundings topper – is the beading more of a copper?

  15. More of a brushed, bronze gold. I have owned mine several years and the beading still looks new. I hand wash it in Woolite.

  16. You and your outfits look fabulous ; you wear your adjectives well! What a lovely table setting for the luncheon. Beautiful and intimate. I use my best china, silver, and cloth napkins often. Life is short. Make it as beautiful as possible. It provides such a calming lift in a busy world.

  17. Hi Pam,
You look beautiful in your “I’m So Fancy,” black dress and top, also the other too.
Your new in-laws table setting is stunning. The entire ambience is gorgeous.
Granddaughter is the cutest. Love her look and her sparkle shine-on nails. She looks like the fun little dress up Princess.
By the way, I did acknowledge your post on Sunday but missed a step and list it all. Err. Your grandson that said about coming to your home, “was like coming home.” I thought that was heart felt. WOW, you and Mr. B could be the poster grandparents in your state.

  18. So sweet, Katherine…thank you…my granddaughter is a princess through and through. We are blessed!
