Birthday Shopping at J.Jill

Happy Monday, ladies!  I invite you come with me birthday shopping at J.Jill.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend as I took the time to go birthday shopping at J.Jill before July goes away.

If you have a J.Jill account (which I have had for several years), then you can get 20% off purchases the entire month of your birthday.

The great thing about a July birthday is that when I combine the birthday savings with the sales…it works out to be a very nice savings!

So, come along as I share with you what I discovered at J.Jill and what I liked…..

BIRTHDAY SHOPPING AT J.JILL: MY GIFT

birthday shopping at J.Jill

My wonderful son and DIL gifted me with birthday shopping at J.Jill…such a sweet gift.

There were quiet a few items to try on and some I tried on for YOU!

Sometimes lighting and pictures can be a little frustrating because this top is NOT black & white stripes…it is BROWN stripes.

This is the WEAREVER MIXED-STRIPES TOP in white and kona stripes…kona is the J.Jill name for their current brown.

I paired it with the WEAREVER EASY-CARE BLAZER VEST in dark oatmeal.

Finally, on the bottom are the BOYFRIEND JEANS.

I was so excited that my birthday shopping at J.Jill uncovered brown…and kona is a lovely brown.

Here is a better depiction of it.

This is the WEAREVER SLUB-KNIT POLO TOP.

I hope we see more of this brown going forward…it is a nice.

And here you can see that the brown goes well with the dark oatmeal.

I can see this vest with full length slim pants, and a long sleeve brown shirt for a fun casual fall style…and I would wear it with gold sneakers.

I really hope to see pants in the kona color!

BIRTHDAY SHOPPING AT J.JILL: TOPS

As I hinted, I did see a few items that I believed some of you may be interested in checking out.

This is the PURE JILL CONTRAST-TRIM TOP in cream and black. This is an XL and I think I could have sized down on this one.

This fit is more like a tunic.

FOR THOSE WHO LOVE BLACK….

This top is the PURE JILL MIXED PRINT SPLIT NECK TOP and it is very soft and comfy.

And here is the SAME TOP in petites…the sweet sales associate was wearing this one and agreed to model for me.

I did try this top on and like it.  The side treatments are very slimming.

But, for those who may have larger “girls” like I do, the material is thin and does not look good in that area….if I was smaller there, I would have purchased this one.

This is the PURE JILL EMBROIDERED ROUND-NECK TEE.

BIRTHDAY SHOPPING AT J.JILL: BREAK IT UP

I did see an outfit online that I wanted to try on for YOU…but when I put on both pieces…it just did not look that good on ME.

However, breaking them up into separates would work for several cute looks.

These pants are comfy and I like the width …just right…not too wide.

These are the PURE JILL RELAXED CROPPED PANTS.

I tossed the black jacket over what I came in wearing.

It would be a nice jacket for those who love black.

This is the PURE JILL EMBROIDERED COTTON-GAUZE JACKET.

BIRTHDAY SHOPPING AT J.JILL: NEW GRAY

birthday shopping at J.Jill

A few of you in the warmer palettes asked me to tell you when I saw slate gray/elephant gray colors emerge.

This darker gray is lovely and I believe we will see more of it.  This is called Grey Lead.…the sales associate said…like a pencil.

I am considering the WEAREVER SMOOTH-FIT CLASSIC SLIM LEG PANT in grey lead.

The top is the WEAREVER SLUB-KNIT ELLIPTICAL-HEM TOP in gray lead.

I also saw this scarf and it was beautiful….to go with the gray….PAISLEY PLEATED SCARF.

All in all, my birthday shopping at J.Jill was quite successful.  I purchased a knit navy striped jacket (at 70% off with all of my birthday savings)…the vest above (I can use it for my quirky, creative side)…and the kona tee for a casual brown top.

However, I do not plan to wear the short sleeve top with the vest.

I made sure to shop in my birthday month for that extra savings!  And I am happy…thank you for birthday shopping at J.Jill with me…if you have any questions, please ask…..until tomorrow….

  1. So happy that you were successful and happy with purchases! My birthday month is September. Fingers crossed for more Kona brown by then! Thank you for the style show.

  2. Good morning, Deborah! The Kona brown is a beautiful brown…I also hope to see more of it!

  3. I love JJill I got a navy jacket last week for a steal. Love markdowns with an additional percent. I have the brown top in 2 other colors. So nice. Also purchased the black print top but haven’t worn it yet. Like you considering the new slate grey.

  4. Thanks for sharing, Shelia. The black top is a cute one…I am looking forward to wearing my brown this week. The slate gray is such a wonderful shade of gray, so happy to see it!

  5. My own birthday, in January, coincides with the after Christmas clearances and Talbots’ Red Hanger sale … love to pile on those discounts. One year I even got cashmere sweaters for under $35. I know you didn’t buy them, but the boyfriend jeans looked great on you. Of course, I loved that Kona brown, and would like to see a post or outfit where you combine it with navy, something I’m struggling a bit to do in my own wardrobe. Your vest was my favorite piece, because it’s so versatile. I recently bought a denim vest with a frayed bottom, and when I pulled it off the hanger to try on, I thought, this isn’t going to look right on me, I’ve never worn something like this (already being negative about my body before even trying it on!). Then, in trying it with short, 3/4 and even capped sleeves, I didn’t like it. But a tank top looked super, and very modern. And it looked great with a plain, long sleeve tee too, which will elevate those pieces I have already, and bring it into year round wear. Sometimes when trying on new silhouettes, we need to experiment a bit before deciding they aren’t for us.

  6. I agree with you Linda! I have so many pieces currently in my wardrobe I can wear with that vest. Birthday savings are the best…especially in January and July!!

  7. J Jill has some nice things. The Kona brown top is a nice color not sure if it would go with my cool coloring but brown usually is better than black.
Is it a credit card for J Jill you need to get the birthday discount? I had an account with them at one time.

  8. Yes and you may still be in their system, Paula. You should check it out!
I know the brown works for us warm ladies but not sure about cool.

  9. Very nice virtual shopping trip this morning – thank you! I perused the offerings at Marshall’s yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find three new items to snap up here in late summer: an openwork navy blue pullover sweater with hood for cooler, casual evenings; a cap sleeve mid-blue floral blouse; and best of all, a strikingly beautiful cobalt blue sleeveless maxi dress which I plan to wear next week on a little get-away to an outdoor concert and an outdoor Shakespearian theater. GIRL TRIP, Yeah!!! Today is my 61st, so I also have some birthday discounts to take advantage of today. 🥳 Happy Monday! 💕

  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CONNIE!! I hope today is super special…you deserve it. And I love an outdoor Shakespearian experience…have so much fun celebrating with your friends!

  11. Looks like you really enjoyed your birthday shopping. Gift cards are fun to help stretch the $.
We’ll look forward to seeing you wear your choices.

  12. Belated birthday wishes to Connie! It always tickles me when you shop my favorite retailer, J. Jill. I usually order from them online to get the tall sizing, but almost always find something on the sale racks in the store when I go in to make returns. I’m hoping to see more in the cranberry color they debuted this summer – those linen pieces are so nice and I’d love to have a few more things to coordinate for a fall capsule wardrobe. “Cranberry” is basically maroon, so you know I’ll be wearing it throughout college football season. I have a surprising amount of rust this year, which probably reads “burnt orange” to you! Between Chico’s and J.Jill, I have lots of new pieces I’ll be excited to wear as we start the long, slow transition to fall. In August I start wearing more fall colors, but in summer weight fabrics. I start wearing less white and ivory denim, and shift to earth tones and darker denim. Feeling like fall is closer helps me survive the dog days of August and September in Texas temperatures, and back to school season still feels like the time for new outfits, even though I’ve been retired for two years.
