fashion designers for women 50+

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today, I am sharing with you about two new fashion designers for women 50+.

There are two new names on the fashion designers for women 50+ scene…one brand new, and one that has been building her brand.

So I want to discuss them both and then you can check them out.

So, let’s get comfy and talk our favorite subject here…fashion!

FASHION DESIGNERS FOR WOMEN 50+:  FRANNE GOLDE

I recently introduced you to Franne Golde in the the post REVIEW OF FRANNE GOLDE FASHIONS.

In that post, I promised to style her Magic Pants for you…so here I am in two of her fall pieces.

The MAGIC PANT comes in four colors and I am wearing the deep gray called CARBON.

I agree…this is a great fitting pant, comfortable and looks amazing.

Best of all, I agree with others that they are slimming…and an excellent fit in a garment usually means it will be slimming.

I do recommend them, and really like the high rise in this pant.

I am also wearing their essential long sleeve top called the LUXE STRETCH LONG SLEEVE V-NECK in the light grey color called mist.

I am wearing the XL, and would prefer to have the XXL with a little more room in it.  This is a top I would wear often in cooler weather, and it would look great under a jacket.

You can see all of the new arrivals in the Franne Golde fashions for women 50+ here…NEW ARRIVALS.

Franne Golde is an up and coming new fashion designer for women 50+, and one to keep your eye on.

Her designs definitely support a confident, stylish life in our 60s, 70s, and beyond.

FASHION DESIGNERS FOR WOMEN 50+:  STACY LONDON

Yes…that Stacy London of What Not To Wear has her first collection as a fashion designer on QVC.

When I saw that Stacy was releasing her own collection on QVC, I had to check it out and watched the whole show over the weekend.

You can go to BY STACY LONDON to watch an interview with her and see the entire collection which is selling very well.

She has designed this first collection for us…women 50+ and is now officially in the new fashion designers for women 50+.

In one segment, she was wearing an outfit I particularly liked. It was:

  1. The Stacy London Regular Floral Brocade Pants in the teal (and there are petites available)
  2. The Stacy London Jacquard Chiffon Top with Satin Bow in white.
  3. The Stacy London Ponte Blazer with Shawl Collar and Ruched Sleeve Detail in black (and the teal version is lovely)

These three pieces together made a great outfit.

Remember: Enjoy $30 off your first $60 order with code WELCOME30 on QVC.

I hope she will keep designing with QVC and in the future bring us some warm color options in her styles….that green she is wearing in the photo is gorgeous.

I still think Stacy’s style book, THE TRUTH ABOUT STYLE is the best one I have ever read…and I re-read parts of it often.

If you enjoy watching Stacy in video segments, watch when you click on different garments on STACY ON QVC.

One more thing, there will be more news about Stacy in my News roundup tomorrow!

Thank you for joining me today as we discussed two particular fashion designers for women 50+.  I enjoy reporting on what is happening in the fashion industry just for us.

Let me know if you have questions, and I will see you tomorrow for lifestyle news…..

  1. I loved What Not to Wear, and also Stacy London’s book. The clothes are a miss for me. There are too many fussy details, in often don’t care fire the fabrics, and they look a little overdone. The magic pants look fabulous on you, and the top is … fine. Perhaps it’s the color, but it seems like a high price for a simple knitted top. I do have Golde on my radar, as I would like to build a smaller wardrobe of higher quality basics.

  2. I do like the fit of the pants. She does offer basics in other colors.
Stacy’s collection is so similar to what I have seen at other brands. I am going to watch her to see how future pieces look. One good point is that QVC has consistent sizing and makes sure their designers include petite and plus. If any reader of this blog had purchased through QVC perhaps you would share how you like their sizing guidelines. Thanks!

  3. I loved watching Stacy London too but her clothes (here) are just not for me. Frannie Golde clothing seems a bit more user friendly for me at least-/given my age and lifestyle. Thank you for keeping us up to date, Pam!

  4. Thank you for chiming in, Paulette! Always glad to start my day with everyone here.

  5. I am so happy to see Stacy in the limelight again! It was a favorite show for years. Even my husband knew Clinton’s rules. I loved her books. She did one with Clinton, too. I am hoping her styles will evolve a little. I like the idea of brocade pants to dress up. These are a big fussy. That green jacket she has on…I need to go back and watch the clips. Thank you!

  6. Morning! 🌻
As a sometimes QVC shopper, I would say their sizing is on the generous side. People used to call that ‘vanity sizing’ as the customer feels happy fitting into a smaller size than she might elsewhere. It may not apply to all brands they represent, so I would check the size chart for whatever item is being considered (same as any online shopping). I will say, I was first introduced to both Clark’s shoes and Dooney & Bourke purses via QVC, both of which became favorite brands for me. I also really love the underwear from the Breezies line. Since losing our JCP and Macy’s stores here, QVC really filled a gap.

  7. QVC has a really helpful feature: under the description of the garment there’s a place to click through to the actual measurements of each item. It’s not just a size chart, but rather real numeric measurements….waist circumference, high hip, low hip, back shoulder to waist, etc. It’s saved me from making mistakes. I can often drop down a size!
I like Stacy and have read her book. But I’m not enthused with this collection. It seems a bit “peculiar.”
Will check back when she adds new things.

  8. As others have mentioned, the Stacy clothes just are not my style. The Franne Golde clothes are my style, I just can’t afford them. They remind me of EF clothes which I can’t afford either. You know Cadillac taste and beer budget! Thank you for bringing new designers to our attention. I love reading about them.

  9. Frannie Golde is a new name for me. If priced like EF, I’m probably not going to be able to afford it.
Stacy London! Looks like we were all fans of What Not To Wear!

  10. I know…many fans here! I have another Stacy news announcement in my Weds news!

  11. You look great in the Frannie Golde outfit. I really like the narrow v-neck of the top. Its give a long line to the top. And the pants fit you great. I looked at her site. The clean lines of the clothes and the neutral colors make them pretty timeless styles. They are out of my price range and dressier than what I usually wear but I can certainly see the appeal.l Not so much Stacy’s designs. They seem a too fussy for my taste but I’m sure they will appeal to others. Thanks for showing us some new designers..

  12. As others have said, I love Stacy London from the show and books, but this collection’s vibe is not suitable for me in retirement. But as a young 40-something building my career wardrobe while working with affluent university alumni and donors, I would have been all over this stuff. I used to look for wardrobe pieces that could cross the line from office to social attire for a 5:00 PM cocktail reception, yet were still office appropriate. A colleague used to call it “fancy for work,” just before asking if she could borrow whatever I was wearing. Thanks for keeping us abreast of new offerings like this, even if they aren’t what most of us are wearing in this life stage. I often send your fashion posts to friends whose style they suit, even if they aren’t things I would wear. They are all used to me starting fashion advice with “My favorite blogger Pam says…”
