Summer Nights in Washable Silk
Happy Monday, everyone! Today I share Summer Nights in Washable Silk.
Mr. B asked me out on a date last week and I have not been out for too many summer nights this year.
Washable Silk ended up to be the best option and I will explain why in a moment.
San Antonio has many lovely date night options for summer nights and they can range from super casual to super dressy.
So, all me to share with you why washable silk was my choice for going out during summer nights.
SUMMER NIGHTS IN WASHABLE SILK: MY CHALLENGE
We enjoy summer nights at JAZZ TX, San Antonio’s intimate jazz and dinner venue.
Most audiences dress in casual chic. It is rare to see someone there dressed down.
Parking at The Pearl does involve walking in heat…and the evening we headed out the heat index was in the hundreds.
I knew I wanted to look nice, but also knew I needed comfort shoes that would go with my dress.
I decided my OOFOS RECOVERY SANDALS, that I purchased after my surgery, would work.
I know…this is not what I would typically wear for an evening out…but I was able to walk and I think it worked.
I think these sandals with the fringe and design of the washable silk gave this kind of an upscale beachy look.
I cannot link to the rest of the outfit, but it is one of my washable silk dresses from a local boutique.
I love summer nights in washable silk…it feels great…is very cool….and looks lovely.
Since we would be in a small air conditioned space, I also work a linen wrap that has flecks of gold in it and was originally purchased from TALBOTS.
I like it better than a simple wrap because the arm holes help to keep it on and it is not constantly slipping off. It is SIMILAR TO THIS ONE.
I felt comfortable and confident in my washable silk for summer nights.
We thoroughly enjoyed jazz singer, Aubrey Logan.
While she treated us to the classics, she also shared one of her original songs and I think I liked it more….so good.
If you get an opportunity to see her, I do recommend!
And I also recommend the washable silk at Quince. I own several pieces in the washable silk because it does get me through warmer weather looking confident.
I can go anywhere in South Texas on any of the summer nights and be cool, calm and collected in washable silk.
Here are some pieces you may want to check out…all of these are available in several colors and their colors are beautiful:

U read my mind love silk! Soo luxurious!! Glad u had a nice night with hubby!
Oh. You look lovely! That outfit works well on your steamy nights. That dress of yours is such a winner, dressed up or down. You have it in another color, too, don’t you?
I love the basil green silk that Quince is offering now. I semi-ruined the brown short sleeved button-up blouse by letting it sneak into the dryer. I would like to try the slip skirt, but am having trouble picturing it with the correct top for my body and style personality. Right now I have been wearing linen to dress up in a more casual way. As a bit of a ‘clsssic’, it is not my favorite choice, but it is comfortable and easy to pair with shawls and cotton toppers that I have on hand. I have a deep teal and deep purple, both good colors for me. Summer is short here, and soon nights will demand slacks. I wore shorter leggings under a print cotton dress and great sandals one cooler night and felt comfortable in the look for a deck gathering. It is fun to try something new.
Thanks, Debra!
Yes! It is fun to try something new! I actually have three colors in these dresses…love them. I am so sorry about your top. So ar, my Quince washable silk has washed well and I hang it dry.
I can’t believe heat index in the hundreds … in the evening! Oh my! Sometimes it’s in the high seventies here at night, with dripping humidity that fogs the windows, then everyone complains and feels like they are going to die! I usually wear cotton knits or linen in the summer. I don’t like summer dressing very much, and often wear my denim split midi skirt or my beige cargo midi with a simple cotton tank, then take a linen Athleta relaxed shirt to throw on in the air conditioning, which is absolutely frigid around here. I don’t wear shawls because they shift around, and one of my pet peeves is fussing with my clothes. The one you have with armholes is genius. I couldn’t wait for fall and have almost my entire fall wardrobe purchased in the mega sales we have been having. I bought knee high boots in the hope I can keep wearing my skirts farther into the cool weather.
Fall is definitely my favorite over summer, Linda. That is why it helps me to have fabrics like washable silk to get me through. I love planning my fall looks now…gives me hope as well.
Pam, you looked especially gorgeous for your date night. I’m sure it was a fun night for you both.
I’ll be 69 in a couple of days and you are such an inspiration. Thanks for introducing us to By Brian skincare products. I now use them and am loving them. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you, Cindy! Your encouragement means everything…HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I’m so ready for cooler weather! I love your dress! Hand is in a splint for carpel tunnel pain so short notes. See surgeon on Wednesday and my son is here from California with our DIL! Timing couldn’t be worse! House is a mess! Can’t figure out how to wash under my left arm when I can’t use my right hand at all. How do people do it with one hand?
So, so sorry you are dealing with this, Sydney. I hope the pain subsides soon…I will say a prayer for you right now.
So much fun to see you out on the town with Mr. B! Just to clarify for Linda LM, those are actual temperatures in Texas, not the heat index. Here in Fort Worth, it is predicted to be 104 on Wednesday and Thursday this week. With the predicted humidity, our heat index will be closer to 110. I went out Friday evening and at sundown it was still 100 degrees. Pam’s ideas for dressing in our extreme heat are always greatly appreciated. It is so hard to look “polished,” (one of my style adjectives) when you’re dripping with sweat! Thankfully, this is a much cooler summer than 2023, which was the hottest since 2011. Like so many others in this group, I’m looking ahead to fall clothes with anticipation and excitement. I just ordered two of the long-sleeved Quince silk blouses using Pam’s link and can’t wait to try them.
