2024 Fashion Trends: Argyle

2024 fashion trends

Happy Saturday, all!  Welcome to the 2024 Fashion Trends: Argyle.

Argyle is similar to leopard print in the 2024 Fashion Trends.

It is another popular pattern that is returning actually in the fashion trends, so we see it in many places.

However, some of you may already have argyle in your wardrobe and just need to pull it out for a current look.

Argyle is a pattern that features overlapping diamonds with intersecting diagonal lines on top of the diamonds.

According to research, The pattern was named after the 17th-century tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll in western Scotland.”

In the 2024 Fashion Trends: Argyle is seen predominately in sweaters and cardigans.

So, let’s look at some of the argyle finds I discovered for you.

2024 FASHION TRENDS: ARGYLE AT TALBOTS

Talbots is participating in the argyle 2024 fashion trends in some nice ways.

The beautiful cardigan in the first picture is the SEQUIN ARGYLE N-NECK CARDIGAN…I love this soft take on the pattern.

The black & white cardigan is the V-NECK CARDIGAN.

I love this as a layering piece…but, I confess, not sure why it is labeled a vest?

This is the CONVERTIBLE COWL-NECK VEST.

2024 FASHION TRENDS: VARIOUS PICKS

Macy’s is another retailer which gives us several options in argyle for fall outfits.

This is one of my favorites: TOMMY HILFAGER WOMEN’S COTTON ARGYLE V-NECK SWEATER…available in other colors.

Here is a comfy, drop shoulder stye from Macy’s On 34th Brand.

This is the WOMEN’S ARGYLE V-NECK DROP SHOULDER SWEATER in the warm camel argyle.

JCP brand, St. John’s Bay, has a colorful argyle that would go with any pant.

This is the ST. JOHN’S BAY WOMEN’S PULLOVER in multi-argyle.

Love blue?  Boden has an argyle for you.

And for those who like a style-forward argyle for a great price….

Consider the AMAZON WOMEN’S ARGYLE CHUNKY KNIT GRANDPA SWEATER.

Amazon is a great way to participate in 2024 fashion trends and not break the bank.

I think this one could be styled in a fun way.

For those who live in warmer climates and want to participate in the 2024 Fashion Trends: Argyle now, then look no further than Chico’s.

I tried this lighter weight piece on and liked it as a layering piece, and I would call it more of an artsy argyle than true argyle.

This is the ELBOW SLEEVE MOCK NECK SWEATER.

SPEAKING OF 2024 FASHION TRENDS!

2024 fashion trends

My new leopard sneakers from Talbots arrived this week and I love them.

Such, a fun way to participate in one of the 2024 fashion trends.

We sold several of these with my links before the shoe completely sold out, but they still have the GOLA MARK COX TENNIS SNEAKER in SPECTACULAR ANIMAL PRINT.

It is a cute shoe…this one (the one I am wearing) captured me with it’s comfort.

Thanks for joining in today for the 2024 Fashion Trends.

I currently do not own anything in argyle, but would love to hear how you feel about the pattern.

There were pieces here that caused me to think…maybe I need something argyle!

I will be here tomorrow with Sunday Reflections and hope you will join me…until then….

STAY STRONG & KEEP SMILING!

  1. While I like plaid, the argyle is too costume looking for my taste, especially in bright colors. When I’ve tried it on in the past, I’ve felt the diagonal lines made me look bigger. I did buy some argyle socks, because I intend to do a bit of the cuffed pant, contrasting sock look this fall. Otherwise, I’m going to wear my trendy leopard 🙂 and sit out the argyle trend this year. On another note, I love fair isle sweaters and hope you will do a roundup of them sometime.

  2. Yes, I would be happy to do that for you! Thanks of mentioning the socks. I have heard more women say they plan to do that! Happy Saturday!

  3. I love argyle and always have. It’s
classic and classy. There is a purple argyle cardigan in my closet from Lands End that I wear every year. I might add a sweater vest this year if I can find the right one. Thanks for these great ideas, Pam.

  4. I always enjoy reading your posts. Thanks for all the work you put into your daily messages, fashion, and life style thoughts.

  5. I love argyle. I love a menswear vibe at times. I have fond memories of my grandmother knitting my dad vests and socks, with all the different colors dangling on the holders as she moved along. A few of the pieces you showed are very striking, others are very traditional. I am drawn to the Amazon grandfather sweater in the tan fall color way, but at that inexpensive price, I doubt that the argyle continues to the back. If I ever purchased an argyle sweater, it would have to be the correct colors in my palette and be perfectly knitted. Fussy, I know. Maybe some argyle socks would tick my box! Thank you for bringing it to our attention! The black and white is so striking for winters as is the blue and cream for springs.

  6. As a lifelong fan of argyle prints, I’m excited to see this look trending. It looks like there’s an argyle for every color palette, and I look forward to finding a new piece soon. I’ll also be digging through closets and drawers to find some of my older pieces, from socks to sweaters. I like the black and ivory looks best, and wish those were colors I could wear well; perhaps they will work after I go grey. Thanks for finding time to keep us updated on fall trends, in spite of the challenges of moving!

  7. Loving today’s post! The Boden sweater is gorgeous, as is their alternate colorway of mink + pink. While browsing their site, I also found 3 super-cute versions of a fair isle cardigan. I wore my mother’s old college argyle cardigan for retro sock hops in high school, and then in regular wardrobe rotation through my own college days, so the pattern has a lot of positive vibes for me. Also, I have a beautiful navy and green + black tartan satchel purse which reads a little bit like a sideways argyle. ☺️ Happy to learn the origin of the term, Pam. Thanks! 💕🌻

  8. I think an argyle sweater can look real cute but I don’t think that pattern suits my style. Except for argyle socks. I love patterned socks. The wilder the better. I remember in high school when the nuns relaxed the restriction that our knee socks had to be navy. We all went all out outdoing each other with the wildest socks we could finds. I had argyle over the knee socks in red and yellow. Clashed beautifully with the plaid skirt. LOL. I think new argyle socks in in my future. Thanks for showing a new fun trend.

  9. My kids got crazy sock day during spirit week. It was always great fun! I have a feeling argyle socks will sell well this year!

  10. I had an argyle cardigan many years ago & wore it a lot. It was mostly black with the diamond pattern in dark red & white. I liked the Tommy Hilfiger pullover in the dark burgundy with black? combination. It is cotton & the sale price is good. The green & navy combo is also nice. It reminds me a bit of black watch plaid which is usually very popular during the holidays.

  11. The argyle pattern was the hardest to knit. Keeping all of the different colors and pattern straight was a challenge. I only tried it once on a vest. I also likes the grandpa sweater in the grey and burgundy from Amazon. I couldn’t find what the yarn content is on that sweater. I have allergies to wool. At that low price it is probably synthetic. It just looks like the kind of sweater I would grab for on a chilly day. When we finally get some chilly fall days!

  12. Thanks to Beckie for mentioning the additional color combos in the Tommy Hilfiger cotton sweater! I went to the Macy’s site and ordered both the colors she mentioned. It will be nice to have some lightweight cotton sweaters in fall colors to wear while we wait for fall to show up in north Texas. I’ve always loved argyle/schoolgirl looks, and these are an inexpensive way to indulge in the trend.

  13. I love argyle and have a couple of cardigans that I wear on repeat during the winter months. So I will be (unintentionally) on trend, lol. Thank you for your blog and keeping it real. I am looking forward to seeing more of your new home as you settle in.
