How I add color to early spring outfits

early spring outfits

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today let’s discuss how I add color to early spring outfits.

As I write this, a chilly wind is blowing hard outside the window, and I upped the heater just a bit…but I still have early spring outfits on my mind.

In the last few days of February,  I put this look on one day and after the pictures, I grimaced.

It just seemed so dark…though it is in my best colors and includes garments I like.

But, I was ready for early spring outfits with touches of color.

So, join me today and see how In the last few days I have begun to add color to early spring outfits.

HOW I ADD COLOR TO EARLY SPRING OUTFITS: EMBELLISHED JEANS

early spring outfits

If someone asked me what my personal “signature” color is, I would have to say Green.

I wear a lot of green and really wear just about all shades…though I try to stick to the green in my palette.

Before we left on the Mexico vacation, I ordered these embellished -with- green -jeans at Chicos..and I do love them.

A touch of color on the bottom of jeans is a wonderful way to add color to early spring outfits.

Yes, I have a lot of green and ways to wear these jeans…so the cost per wear is low…but I did buy them on sale.

They have been sold out for some time now, so I am glad I picked them up.

These are a delicate wash for me…I do not put them in the regular wash.

This is a nod to the next season in my early spring outfits, and a way to speak my style adjectives polished, creative, current, approachable and joyful.

I little understated bling is certainly approachable and joyful.

My Green Jeans (remember Mr. Green Jeans…LOL!) are gone, but these lovely pink, blue and a touch of green ones are new for cool palette ladies.

These are the Floral Embellished Cropped Jeans…and I can think of many ways you could wear them.

There are always many ways to wear CHICO’S JEANS for early spring and after.

HOW I ADD COLOR TO EARLY SPRING OUTFITS: ACCESSORIES

The accessories at WORLD FINDS are great ways to introduce color and creativity for early spring outfits.

I love to support their mission, and wear their creations.

These pieces are part of the KANTHA AZURE COLLECTION...and waiting for an ocean adventure!

Or an adventure at home with a simple denim shirt and white jeans.

Such a great way to add color to early spring outfits.

And I love to add color to early spring outfits with my new EASY SPIRIT GLITZ WALKING SHOES…these are great shoes!

I am wearing the warmer red called Dark Red Knit (with a touch of bronze leather strips at the back)…but there is also a happy red called red leather and other colors…light blue, pink, lilac, yellow and neutrals.

Remember for all Easy Spirit shopping to use the code PAMELA20 for 20% off.

With Easy Spirit you can walk for miles, and still pop color in your early spring outfits.

Last week, I also decided to go just a tad lighter with my nails for early spring outfits.

This is an OPI color called Aurora Berry-alis.

Nail color should always be considered as an accessory.

A handbag is a wonderful way to add color to early spring outfits…or really any outfits.

I am so in love with my new HOBO SHELIA MEDIUM SATCHEL that I can carry two ways.

The color called Jade is beautiful and the leather is exceptional…I have had several women stop me locally and ask where I found it.

I am thrilled that I have a link for you to the HOBO website, but I did find mine locally at ADDIE’S BOUTIQUE.

This bag has been worth every penny to me.  I needed something a little larger than the crossbody bags I was carrying.

There was no room for my sunglasses or a few other necessities.

And I did not own anything this lovely for spring and summer..

Those are my ideas for how I add color to early spring outfits!  Share any of your ideas as well….

I hope to see you tomorrow for the weekly news lifestyle roundup!  Until then…

  1. Fun colors thanks. It is 70 degrees here houston area. Mowed green pasture tons of shiny yellow flowers horses can’t eat.
Birds so happy to eat all of exposed bugs.
    Green is the best!!
Hoping warmer weather soon for u! Take care.

  2. We had a big storm last night with hail! Now it’s cooler but still looks like a pretty day ahead…thanks Debra!

  3. Great minds think alike … just this morning, I swapped out my camel cardigan for a brilliant golden marigold one! March is coming in like a lion here, but the brighter colors are so cheering. I like that bag a lot, but I won’t need one till fall. I will put that company on my radar, as I liked the soft, slightly wrinkled or worn look of the leather. I have to be careful where I live not to look like a costume, but I often add what I consider to be touches of western to my look (stacked silver cuffs, western vibe beaded jewelry creations, distressed leather, western detail in boots). They fit my interesting, casual, active adjectives.

  4. Your purse is a great color, and that water thermos (?) next to it is spring perfection! We hit 73 a few days ago, and have daffodils in bloom even though I know to expect a lot of up and down temps before we fully settle into spring. I am transitioning by wearing long sleeve blouses under a cardigan rather than automatically reaching for my winter-weight sweaters. I practically drooled my way through the new Talbot’s catalog that arrived yesterday. Photographed in Mexico, wearing all those beautiful pinks and that ice blue! Oh, my. 💗 Going to our annual neighborhood Mardigras party this evening, so I’m going to set myself up with some lively zydeco music to cook by this morning, and then try to select a pretty outfit for tonight.

  5. Great looking green handbag. It will serve you well. This weekend when I looked in the mirror after dressing for church in brown & camel (my good colors) I also had the urge to add a pop of spring. Realizing that it was finally March I switch to my favorite lime green cross-body and it made all the difference. I’ll use this until Oct or Nov and I’ll be asked many times where I bought it. I was asked that at the dentist yesterday. I love those dark red shoes. I have the Easy Spirit clogs you were and they fit fine. But I have not always had good luck with the way Easy Spirit fits my foot. I saw the the webpage recommends sizing down. Did you buy your regular size or size down? I’d like to give them a try and if they fit I can see buying them in a couple of colors. Never had a chance to comment yesterday about how darling Jess looks in that pretty blouse. Happy almost spring.

  6. Thanks Linda! I do love the leather of the bag! And I love that you know your style so well!

  7. Since I need a larger toe box, I wear true to size with my Easy Spirit shoes. If I did not have funky toes, I would size down 1/2. Thanks Kathie!

  8. Oh my I LOVE Hobo bags, the leather is heavenly and that Jade color is sumptuous. Just hid my credit cards!

  9. Oops forgot something. Color is so interesting. You really make think about color pairing even though our colors are not the same.

  10. I am tired of my winter grays & blacks even though they are my colors, too. I love the teal green blouse & have a blouse in that color as well. I wear it with a variety of bottoms. I am so happy to see so many spring items in lavender. I don’t wear dark purple, but I love the lighter shades. The Easy Spirit shoe you featured today & the Brahim bags you had last week both had lovely shades of lavender. Such a springy color!

  11. That is my goal…to inspire and get you to thinking about your own unique style, Suzi.

  12. I have seen a lot of lavender so far this season. It seems to be a spring feature in many collections.

  13. Becky, I too love the pale lavender bag by Brahmin. If the color is more pink and very pale I can wear it. Our weather is all over the place here in Colorado. One day I’m in my puffer coat, hat and gloves for dog walks and then for a couple of days I can wear white jeans, my nautical blue and white striped tee and my white denim jacket! Crazy weather! I have many pairs of Easy Spirit shoes, all of which I got with your coupon, PAMELA20. I wear a 6.5W-7W in most shoes and wear 7W in Easy Spirit shoes. I have only had to return one pair because of the toe design being too narrow and pointed for my arthritic toes.

  14. My goal this week is to start swapping out a few items in my closet even though we still have ice, snow, and wind. That was a timely article. Thank you! I have a small Hobo crossbody in Marine blue. Beautiful line of bags. The red Easy Spirits are fun, but are they a warm red? On my monitor they look very cool. I should look at other colors. I just don’t know what I need yet. My summer shoes are mostly packed away.

  15. The shoes I own are a very warm red with bronze leather. The offer a cool red but that’s not my shoe. It is warm… wish monitors were consistent!

  16. As a reader who shares your autumn coloring, I love seeing how you’re starting to incorporate spring colors into your transitional wardrobe. I especially appreciate your attention to small details, from nail polish to bag to water bottle. It’s a good reminder to me that all the little details do a lot to make us look more polished and put together. That green bag is so nice, and I wish I could justify a purchase of that price right now. My closet is full of that sage green color, and anlthough I do have olive green and darker green bags, I love this beautiful color. Adding it to my wish list! I hope last night storms left you with no damage. My old house is without power and likely to be so until Thursday or Friday, according to the power company. I feel so bad for my new renter, but the new house held up well even though funnel clouds went right over it. The new house is close to a railroad track and I found myself wondering if a tornado sounds like a train, how do you differentiate it from the trains that run all night by the house? Definitely made for some light sleeping- here’s to milder spring weather ahead!

  17. I grew up in North Texas and distinctly remember tornadoes that sounded like trains…right before the air gets deadly still. Will always stick with me..so glad you are safe. We have a lot of tree limbs to pick up but that is it so far…and we also live close to an active train track!
