Would You Wear It?

would you wear it

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Welcome to a special edition of WOULD YOU WEAR IT?

Would You Wear It? is only special today because it is on a Thursday…tomorrow being July 4th!

I heard from one of you with a request to feature a plus size fashion line.

So, the fashion display today is a line which does feature both misses and plus size.

So, I encourage you to comment on if you would wear the looks or not even if the links are to the plus size version.

I hope that is not too confusing!

Everyone did amazing last week in keeping their comments constructive and helpful to others…no one got ugly if they did not care for the styles.

So, let’s keep that KINDNESS MATTERS going and look this new brand over for WOULD YOU WEAR IT?

WOULD YOU WEAR IT? – LUCY PARIS

Would You Wear It?

Lucy Paris is a new brand (to me anyway) that I discovered recently at Dillard’s….it is a brand for misses and plus size ladies.

The brand is creative…at times a little funky…and fun.

So, look these two lovely ladies over and see what you think.

The garments are:

LUCY PARIS Plus Size Bea Short-Sleeve Printed Ruffled Top

LUCY PARIS Plus Bea Flowy Wide Leg Pants

LUCY PARIS Plus Size Emily Short-Sleeve Knotted-Tie-Detail Coordinating Top

LUCY PARIS Plus Size Bloom A-Line Coordinating Midi Skirt and it also comes in LUCY PARIS Plus Size Rue Coordinating Printed Satin Ankle Pants.

Would You Wear It?

So, whether you are a misses or a plus size, please comment any way.

WOULD YOU WEAR IT?

Would you at least try one of them on?

Cannot wait to read your discussion today.  But, before you rush to comment…..

  1. I like the outfit on the left with the ruffle top and wide leg pants – I would DEFINATELY wear that one. I’m not a skirt or dress person so no the the right but only because it’s just not me.

  2. I love both tops and prints. Just the right amount of arm coverage while still looking summery. I love the prints but would wear pants in white with less width to the pants since I’m 5’3” and too much fabric isn’t suited my more rectangular build. These complete outfits would look lovely on a tall, slim woman.

  3. Happy July 3! I have to say yes and yes- I would definitely wear these two looks! The dress would be fabulous for a summer dinner out, and looks cool too! I must look at fabric content there. The wider leg ivory pants with printed top looks equally cool and comfy for an evening soiree where my usual casual look might not be right. All in all I like these pieces!

  4. After my exploration with no expectations try-on of large prints, loose pants, etc. at Kohl’s last week, I would not have hope for these pieces for my body structure or personal style personality. The drape on the mannequin of the pants looks beautiful ( better than the actual piece shows when you click on it), so for those that the style works for, I hope it translates in real life. The dress is really cute and funky, but not for me. Both outfits make a great statement for a July function. The outfit you are contemplating? I love it! I would even break out my pearls, find the right shoes, and think of it as a throwback to the 50s. Does final markdown at Dillards mean final sale? Also wanted to mention that all those no bake pies article yesterday was great.

  5. Hi Deborah, I know that Dillard’s has been making changes and revising the return policies…they previously were very strict on returns. I cannot find online where they discuss this, but if I can get over there soon I will ask an employee. I will check it out. I would not wear the entire pink outfit, but I do love that sweater and I saw the color in store but did not try it on.

    Just found this:https://www.dillards.com/c/returns

  6. Pam, I usually wear petites, but I liked both outfits…maybe because I enjoy a little funky! Neither is my usual retirement wear, but I can see myself wearing either outfit to my Woman’s Club meeting or to church. Both tops appear loose enough to hide my expanded middle, and they appear to be very comfortable. I have not worn a dress or skirt in years but I’m leaning more and more toward looking for one as this summer gets hotter and hotter.

  7. Thanks Celia…it helps when you include details like shopping as a petite.

  8. I would happily wear the flowy white pants, but not with that top. The print is pretty but I just can’t get comfortable in ruffles. 😀 I would also wear the b&w print pants, but I would feel better with a plain black top. These mannequins show real possibilities!

  9. I would not wear either outfit but purely because of my body. As a I’m just 5ft. and short waisted the peplum top would cut me in half and accentuate my larger bottom as it would hit me at my hips rather than the waist. The other outfit has dropped sleeves and no matter whether it is plain or patterned anything with a dropped sleeve does not flatter my body, believe me I’ve tried. I like both prints but would also need them to be white and blue as apposed to creme and blue.

  10. I would wear the left outfit all day, ha! The ruffles and flounces on the top speak to my Boho style, the pants look fun—part drama, part comfort. No to the skirt outfit, the style is okay, but the print with rounded swirls is too soft looking for the edginess I strive for.

  11. I actually just purchased a similar pair of pants to wear on dressy nights on our upcoming Alaskan cruise; so was excited to see them on your blog. I plan to wear either with a dressy short sleeve blouse, short sleeve cashmere sweater or a cardigan. The blouse pictured is very nice but not for me. I just don’t do ruffles. Love the matching skirt and blouse outfit but with my ever-thickening waist, I figured my skirt wearing days were over. Perhaps worth a try!

  12. Thank you for stopping by, Laura…that is the favorite so far today.

  13. It may be worth a try, Jocelyn. If you find yourself near a Dillard’s, you should try it on. Have fun on your cruise…we enjoyed ours to Alaska.

  14. I would not wear the outfit on the left. The top is pretty but it is too frilly for my style and blue is not in my color palette. The pants are a good color for me but to much material. I like palazzo pants on others but not on me.

At first glace I thought I might try on the skirt on the right. I can handle a bold print in a skirt. Then I saw it is gathered tiers. I happened to notice the Lucy Paris skirt in red, in the same print without tiers. I would try that on even though its not petite. Unfortunately its not available locally. The top is a no due to the size of the print, the colors and the dropped sleeves. This is an outfit that I think would look good on someone else. I love a navy & white combination but I have learned it doesn’t flatter me.

The pink cardigan looks very nice.

  15. Funky and fun! Yes! Love the toile print on the blouse. With the wide leg pants, it is quite elegant. The dress would be cute with white sandals or sneakers. A white cardigan would be a nice addition for air conditioning.

  16. Thanks for sharing the skirt that would work for you, Kathie. I know that helps others to see.

  17. It would be cute with sneakers…lately I think everything is cute with sneakers. Thanks Marcia

  18. I love the outfit on the left, also I would wear the top on right with pants on left.
I love the flow of them. I would wear them to work ( school office) I would be comfy but also professional.

  19. I would wear the dress. It looks like a nice summer dress. It just appeals to me more than the slacks.

  20. The outfit on the left is my favorite. Even though I don’t usually wear ruffles, that top has a soft neckline and the shade of blue is perfect for me. If the top and pants came in petite, I would wear it. The two piece dress has too bold of a pattern for my taste. The color is fine but the tired skirt wouldn’t flatter my figure. The same for the top.

  21. Thank you for introducing us to this line! I love the ruffle blouse, the color, the ruffle, the pattern. Although I’ve not tried pants like these, I would give them a shot and if not, would try a very narrow leg. I love everything about the pink sweater and skirt so thank you for introducing me to this feminine but not fussy line.

  22. Both looks are interesting. I would not wear the dress as the style seems fussy to me and the print is too large. I like the pants and top combo. I would do the white pants with a more simple top as the ruffles do not flatter me. Have a good holiday weekend!

  23. I love both outfits and am excited to learn about a new plus-size line. I appreciate that it’s not expensive. Thank you.
