Goodwill Makes Thanksgiving Hassle-Free
I cannot believe it is already Thanksgiving time with Christmas on the horizon! I have discovered through my regular visits to Goodwill in San Antonio how great a place it is for decorations. Like this Thanksgiving trio above!
We are scheduled to have
cooler weather next week, so I might be able to
wear this plaid jacket and beautiful silk scarf I found at Goodwill last week. I like this English-riding style!
The retro-scarf is Ginnie Johansen and 100% silk.
I paired it with my leggings
with leather insets and my black boots!! Please try leggings, if you haven’t already, they are so much fun to wear and completely age appropriate!
Also, while there I found five stacks of sturdy paper plates. Since I am cooking for a crowd this year, I snatched these babies up!! Coincidence…they matched my napkins perfectly! Next week, I plan to bring you a couple of fun holiday recipes, and table decoration ideas.
Also, I discovered brand new Better Homes and Gardens spicy pine cone potpourri!
All of the table decor is now happening for under $10!! Affordable decorations…YES!
A successful way to save money and put it forward towards the holidays…..also for anyone with a budding fashionista…here is the cutest lamp! Remember, when you shop GOODWILL, you are helping create jobs for your community!
Great decorations, Pam – The trio of Thanksgiving characters is eye-catching. And I love your silk scarf, with black leggings. Chic and simple. xo
Hi ya Pam.. I too love the English Riding Style.. and those leggings you have on are awesome. Where did you get them? they are very sophisticated!!! This style suits you!!

PAM! LOVING those cool pants. I swear your style is getting more and more fun! The black boots and leggings are perfect.
Thank you Jodi…you are so sweet. These were given to me from Cabi as part of their Fall Collection…they are really cool!
great finds—you give Goodwill a whole new meaning
Love the pilgrims – I collect them. I may have to check out Goodwill this weekend.
You look amazing! I absolutely love the entire outfit. Did you get new glasses too? Or is it that the glasses look too awesome with your blazer? {smile} <3

Those leggings and boots make you look sexy and dangerous. Which is all good, yes? 😉
Great scarf, Pam! I just love Goodwill. I stopped by yesterday and found a beautiful pink trench coat and a pin-striped blazer that I can't wait to wear.
I love your equestrain look!!
You never have to convince me about Goodwill (and The Salvation Army and other thrifts) I love supporting them!!
Great look on you! (I can't believe it's Thanksgiving already either. I'm soooooo not ready for it to be this time of year!)
Any special recipes you would recommend? (I'm cooking a small-scale Thanksgiving – easy, but I'd like to try something new.)
I have a scarf by Ginnie Johansen. My mother gave it to me. I haven't seen her on the East Coast, is she a Midwestern designer?
I bought some candles at a thrift the other day. Colonial candles, .25 each – can't beat that. I figure some lady laid in a stockpile of candles and then went to meet her maker, leaving a bargain for the thrift store. Lesson here: have dinner by candlelight every chance you get, if you don't someone else will.
Hi Rose, I do not know where Ginnie is from…but I can research it! I love what you said here about eating by candlelight…great advice!!
Hi D.A…..our meal is pretty traditional. I do make my mother's cornbread dressing and that recipe has been handed down. I am going to try one new dessert this year and I plan to put the recipe on my blog next week. I am also adding a ham along with our turkey because my son in law recently found out he is allergic to poultry!!
