Hit Your Style Sweet Spot: Women Over 50 In Creative, Artistic Style
Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40. We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day. After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning. But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week. We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence
It is quite amazing and surprising, but it feels like seasons are changing in South Texas. Though slight, I have been ready to celebrate fall much earlier than normal…and the early arrival of Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks just solidified my autumn-state-of-mind.
Today’s pictures are from “First Friday”…a popular event in our trendy side of town in San Antonio called Southtown. Hundreds walk up and down the streets from club to club, eatery to eatery, and shop to shop. There are street musicians, bands, dancing in the street, and abundant artwork by local artists.
The BLUE STAR ART COMPLEX is home to many of their studios and shops. It is an event many look forward to each month!
This is a perfect event to bring out my artsy, eclectic side….and ARTFUL HOME, the perfect place to feed it. Artful Home represents a collection of our country’s finest artists and designers. Each piece is unique and not mass marketed. These are special works of art. Also, many of the pieces are available in a variety of sizes and also designed for a great fit.
I hope the weather will be cooler and perfect for this MATTE JERSEY SCOOP NECK TEE BY PLANET next month when it is time for First Friday and other events.
I have several garments designed by PLANET and I love them. They feed my creative side and fit my personal guidelines for great style. These are quality, investment pieces which wear so well….and you will wear them over and over again.
The Fall 2016 Collection is out now and can be found HERE! You will love what you see! Made for women seeking confidence with artistic flair.

Great transitional outfit! Sometimes the changing seasons are difficult to dress for since temps can fluctuate so much in one day! To feed my creative side, I seek solitude in nature. Nothing inspires me to create as much as time spent in the peace and quiet of being in a park, at the beach, in the woods. That is what I do when I need to feel grounded, inspired, or calm.
I'm there with you Karen. In fact, right now is my time for that same inspiration. I am up early listening to the birds sing, howls hoot, and candles are lit…love this atmosphere to begin my day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I love this look on you. Planet makes such great pieces. Artful Home's newest collection is full of wonderful pieces!!
I will wear this piece often this season, Jennifer. Your jacket is a real must have for fall…such a great look with the scarf!
Art Home has a nice collection of hats, and they come in different sizes.
Thanks Rose…I haven't looked at Artful Home's hats. I am going to check it out!
The scarf is definitely cool. Love the colors. Perfect for autumn.
These pieces look wonderful, Pam! Great choices. xox

Happy Labor Day! You look fab, as usual. I love this tone of blue and the scarf just tops it all off beautifully. I must remember to add a scarf to my outfits. Thanks for the fashion tip.
Love that colour of blue, Pam. Your shots of the cool music venues reminded me of a Laura Lippman novel called In Big Trouble. Lippman is a mystery writer who usually sets her books in Baltimore but this one is set mostly in San Antonio and deals a lot with the music scene there. That book really made me want to visit your part of the country.
How fun Pam! We have something similar in Charlotte, art and music events and I enjoy this side. I love artsy places too. The top is a lovely color on you and I really like the orange/blue patterend scarf with it!
