Monthly Style Tip for Fashion Over 50: HOLIDAY FUN WITH FASHION
Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40. We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day. After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning. But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week. We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence.
I began the week discussing why I do not allow the challenges which come with aging to hold me back. I wear flats with flair and style and do not lament over the fact I can no longer wear heels. I also no longer wear earrings, because I have a ripped ear which was repaired and eventually ripped again. And I have been pleasingly plump most of my adult life. But, I absolutely refuse to allow any of these things to keep me from confidence, joy and looking my best each day.
I still have fun with fashion despite all of the challenges I face over 60! This KERISMA SWEATER PONCHO top from Purple Poppy is a perfect way to have fun with fashion. It is open on one side with a long sleeve on the other. It is designed to fall in such a flattering way, and that is where the designer had me at hello. PURPLE POPPY is loaded with designs which may take you a little out of your traditional box, but will deliver lots of fun and style.
I am wearing it with snake patterned leggings, leopard flats, and a fun necklace.
Always try garments on before buying whenever possible, and spend time in the dressing room making sure it is your style…it says what you want to say with your clothing…and it has a flattering fit. And, make sure you are enjoying your clothing and having fun with fashion.
Since November begins our holiday season, my tip is to have fun with your fashion and rock who you are, do not hold back comparing yourself to others or avoid holiday parties because you do not feel good about yourself. You are special…own it!
Now, let’s go see what JENNIFER OF A WELL STYLED LIFE has for her tip for the month!
you look amazing as always! i LOVE the flats!
Such a great looking poncho on you. You certainly rock that look!!
I am loving those leggings!!!
p/s My weekly Project Sister Act Link-Up is now live on the blog, and I’d love for you to come by and join in xoxo
Great outfit! I'm all about the flats . . . haven't worn heals in years. You look gorgeous!
How inspirational Pam! This is such an important message, to accept ourselves as our bodies change. Not always easy, but necessary. I do agree we need to stop comparing ourselves to others and to not allow body "flaws" to steal our joy. There is more peace to be had when we treat ourselves with kindness. Thank you for being real!
You look great and love the flats. I broke my leg and ankle and have two more months in a cast and don't want to risk re-injuring myself by wearing heals.
You look absolutely fabulous and I love that necklace!
You are not plump. You are a beautiful woman. We are supposed to have curves! 🙂
