2024 Fashion Trends: Not Black Blazers

2024 fashion trends

Happy Saturday, friends.  It is time for another of the 2024 Fashion Trends…this one? …Not Black Blazers.

I do not know if you will remember the trends last year, but the market was flooded with black blazers for women at every turn.

And many of us were shopping for navy blazers because of the flood of black.

But, this year, the 2024 fashion trends are all about NOT BLACK BLAZERS.

And, honestly, I haven’t seen that many in navy just yet.

Of course, these options can always be found, but they are not as prevalent this year as the not black blazer colors.

However, the colors of blazers in the 2024 fashion trends are quite lovely.

The feature photo is from Talbots and is the TAILORED STRETCH BLAZER in the dark teal (there are four colors).

You might remember that vests are also in the 2024 fashion trends, and so is tone-on-tone.

This picture features the Talbots CABLE KNIT V NECK SWEATER VEST in the dark teal.

So, join me as we see what it out there for 2024 fashion trends: Not Black Blazers.

2024 FASHION TRENDS: NOT BLACK BLAZERS: A UNIFORM FOR MANY

For many women, jeans and blazers are their uniforms of choice.

The style is very popular and one of my favorites as well…add a sneaker and you are very modern.

The next two pictures are more affordable options from JC Penney’s.

The top selection is the WORTHINGTON WOMENS REGULAR FIT BLAZER in an interesting color called rust black….now there is a good way to be on trend and get in some black.

I think this one would be very casual chic with black jeans!

The next one is the BLACK LABEL BY EVAN PICONE SUIT JACKET in dark brown.

I am including this blazer because the color is MIDNIGHT FIG and it is one of my favorite colors.

Some think it is purple.

Some think it is brown.

I think it is lovely and I do own an Eileen Fisher blazer in fig that I love to wear with denim.

From Ann Taylor, this is the THE NOTCHED ONE BUTTON BLAZER IN WOOL BLEND STRETCH.

The 2024 fashion trends not black blazers do include camel, or sand, or tan, or whatever you like to call this color.

There are many options in the color this year.

This is from Lands End and it is the WOMENS CREPE BLAZER in honey beige.

2024 FASHION TRENDS: NOT BLACK BLAZERS: WORTH CONSIDERATION

2024 fashion trends

There are so many options in the 2024 fashion trends not black blazers that they are worth your time and consideration.

Many of you may have the warmer colors already in your closet…pull them out and wear them!

I think this one is gorgeous, though one of the more expensive ones.

This is Antonio Melani at Dillard’s.  It is the RIVIERA PONTE TWILL NOTCH LAPEL LONG SLEEVE BUTTON FRONT LONG LINE BLAZER in the color brandy.

Of course, double button styles are also in the 2024 fashion trends.

2024 fashion trends

Soft blazers are also in the 2024 fashion trends and offered in not black colors.

This one is the QUINCE 100% ORGANIC COTTON KNIT BLAZER in the color called cappuccino.

It looks really nice.

2024 fashion trends

Remember, leopard print blazers will be in the 2024 fashion trends.

We will see more begin to hit racks, but this one is the KOHL’S WOMENS INTEMPO LONG BOYFRIEND BLAZER In leopard.

Finally, here are a few more blazers (not black) for your consideration:

Now, don’t laugh at me about the “not-black blazer” description.  I saw it on a fashion website as a trend.

While we are here still enjoying the 2024 fashion trends, the fashion world is in New York looking at what’s on trend in 2025!

But if you have any questions on today’s trends, then please ask…and I will see you tomorrow…until then…

STAY STRONG & KEEP SMILING!

  1. I purchased the blazer Karen was wearing this week from Kohl’s in houndstooth; great fit for a great price($40). Thank you for the recommendation!

  2. I stopped wearing blazers for a while, since I no longer am willing to have clothing dry cleaned. I realize there are washable options now. But I just never went back, especially because blazers then became so long and oversized, which was a terrible silhouette on me. Last year, I bought a couple of the On 34th sweater knit blazers you recommended (fortunately one is in navy, and the other is in tomato red/not black), and am eyeing the Quince one. With jeans and flats, a fitted blazer can be very polished looking, but these days the knitted blazers work best for my lifestyle.

  3. There are many options in the knitted sweater blazers and this year many of the lengths are shorter and more fitted. I will have another good option for you on Monday too! That Quince looks good!

  4. So many great blazers in pretty colors. I do love a blazer with jeans and loafers. I used to wear a black or navy one like that all the time. Now the styles are different and most of them are too long for me. I’d be tempted by the Quince jacket as its a bit more casual and that fits my lifestyle better these days but if its the right length for the 5’10” model it would be too long on 5’3″ me. The Midnight Fig jacket is gorgeous. I’ve never lived near an Ann Taylor store so I have no idea how their pieces fit or if the color is warm enough for me I’m going to think about that one.. I bought a glen plaid blazer on sale a couple years ago. Petite size so it fits well but I haven’t been able to style it well as it seems to hit me at an odd spot and the proportions seem off. I need to work on this I guess because the colors are perfect.

  5. I’m with the comments about no dry cleaning! Our only dry cleaner closed a few years ago. It is a 40 mile trip one way to Pueblo for a dry cleaning store! I remember wearing an Evan Picone wool suit to my oldest son’s wedding on December 22, 41 years ago. It was so cold in Des Moines that day. That beautiful muted plaid heavy lined wool suit was perfect. The midi A line skirt would be fashionable today. Of course it is long gone. I do love the Quince simple jacket.

  6. Although I like my black blazer, it is good to see blazers in fresh new colors. I prefer a fabric that is not wool because I am allergic to wool, so knit blazers are a welcome addition. I don’t care for the long, oversized look, so I am always on the lookout for shorter blazers or petites, but petites are sometimes hard to find in my size. I’m hoping to find something in red or a cool burgundy.

  7. Thanks for today’s roundup. I had spotted that pale green soft blazer you have in the carousel as I browsed the latest J.Jill catalog, and may order it. First, I have to really consider all the other dog-eared pages. There are some really beautiful items this time! 😍 My favorite blazer from last year was a cream colored sweater knit from On 34th. It is comfortable, but elevates whatever else I put with it.
Happy Saturday! The Farmer’s Market finally had the season’s first figs today!🤸‍♀️
    💕from Oregon.

  8. I think it would be worth your time, Kathie, since you love colors. A jacket in a perfect color for you would be worn often if it is the right fit.

  9. Most of the sweater blazers are washable. I think the blazers which are more structured do better with dry cleaning.

  10. There are lots of shorter blazers this year and I have also seen a lot of burgundy. You hit a good year to shop for these two. Thanks Becky!

  11. Hi Connie…Monday is JJILL day and I will have links for you on that day! I tried on many great pieces…including that green…when I went it recently.

  12. Pamela you should get that Kohls leopard blazer it’s so flattering and you’re looking so trim! I need a grey black leopard print… have you seen any? The browns aren’t so flattering on me with my fair skin tone. 🥰

  13. Well I have my black and navy blazers. So I am looking seriously for a different color that will go with garments in my closet. There are so many possibilities and thanks for the variety you have in this post.

  14. I’m so excited to see that colored blazers are having a moment. Your post has reminded me of one I haven’t worn in a while in the same blue featured in the JJill mention. I needed a jacket to add authority and pockets to a black sheath dress I’m wearing to staff a wedding this week. Problem solved! As I review my closet for fall (which has come early in north Texas) I can’t wait to see what else I find. I’ve always said my favorite blazer was the one clothing item I’d save in a house fire. Thanks for all these great options you’ve given us. I’m going to check out several and see what works best with my larger than usual body.

  15. I know! This early fall weather in Texas has been amazing! Wish it would stuck! Happy to have reminded you of your jacket!
