My picks in winter new arrivals

winter new arrivals

Happy Saturday! Today, I have for you a few of my picks in winter new arrivals.

Winter officially blows in one week from today, so there may be some ready to plan for outfits with winter new arrivals.

To begin with, I am featuring three of the most popular brands with readers of this blog.

I will do this again with other brands soon.

My feature photo today is of the new J.Jill catalog and that is what got me to thinking about winter new arrivals.

Get cozy and let’s begin with J.Jill winter new arrivals.

MY PICKS IN WINTER NEW ARRIVALS: J.JILL

winter new arrivals

This is one of those winters which go from cold to warm to cold to warm…and a base of layering pieces is so important.

I really like this cardigan in the winter new arrivals at J.Jill.

It is the DOUBLE-BREASTED CABLED CARDI in oatmeal heather.

This is a great layering piece or a wonderful cardigan for multi-seasons.

I also really like this peacoat and it will serve you well for a long time from J.JILL winter new arrivals.

This is the KNIT DOUBLE BREASTED PEACOAT.

Perfect for winter outfits in navy.

I included this jacket because I know many here love lighter colors.

It looks so good over the denim.

This is the QUILTED ZIP FRONT JACKET in iced mauve.

winter new arrivals

This looks like a great sweater and it comes in two colors in the winter new arrivals.

I like how they styled it over a blouse.

This is the TEXTURED FUNNEL-NECK SWEATER.

I included this jacket for warmer winter climates and because it can we worn multi-seasons.

This is the PURE JILL COTTON-GAUZE EMBROIDERED JACKET.

I like the look of this jacket.

MY PICKS IN WINTER NEW ARRIVALS: QUINCE

winter new arrivals

This coat is very popular at Quince and has just been re-stocked.

I do like the design and can see why it is popular.

This is the ITALIAN WOOL COCOON COAT, and it comes in seven colors.

Recently, a blog reader asked me to recommend women’s trousers.

Since I have never been unhappy with anything I have from Quince, I thought I would recommend the trousers in winter new arrivals.

These are the STRETCH CREPE CLASSIC TROUSER PANT that comes in five color choices.

Also, consider the:

THE ULTRA STRETCH PONTE TROUSER

STRETCH CREPE PLEATED WIDE-LEG PANT

100% SILK TWILL TROUSER

And go here for all QUINCE WINTER NEW ARRIVALS.

MY PICKS IN WINTER NEW ARRIVALS: TALBOTS

winter new arrivals

As always, Talbots has many beautiful winter new arrivals.

I want to make sure you saw these three!  All would be fabulous to complete winter outfits.

This one is the JEWEL BUTTON HENLEY PULLOVER in three colors.

I think the Ivory color at Talbots is so rich and lovely.

Since I am into details, I was drawn to recommend this sweater because of the cuffs.

This is the CABLE KNIT CUFF SWEATER offered in eight colors…of course, I love that Highland Green.

winter new arrivals

This one is the MIXED STITCH CARDIGAN, and all six colors are lovely.

It is such a great piece to elevate a more casual winter outfit.

Those are my picks for you today, ladies.

All links take you straight to these three brands where you can see more winter new arrivals.

Let me know if you have questions on my picks in winter new arrivals…there are so many current styles for great winter looks.

Tomorrow, I will answer a few of the questions raised in the survey this week from emails and comments.

  1. Thank you for the preview. I love that oatmeal cardigan. I will be checking that out at Jjill! Have a lovely weekend.

  2. I agree; these are all lovely. JJill has been in one of their style “valleys” with me recently, but I like this collection and styling. Talbots too did a great job, though I found the jeweled buttons on the Henley a little overpowering (but they do hit my interesting adjective).

  3. Absolutely they hit your style messaging for interesting. You know I believe choices all depend on what you want to communicate to the world about you with what you wear. Thanks for being here, Linda!

  4. Thanks for showing us your picks from the new winter arrivals. Love the style of the Quince coat. If I was in need of another winter coat it would certainly be a strong contender. The J Jill double breasted sweater is really cute too but not for me as I have somewhat narrow shoulders and a full bust so dropped shoulders are very unflattering on me. Thankful that both J Jill & Talbot’s continue to offer such a good range of sizes since here not a lot of options for petites or probably for talls as well. Happy Saturday.

  5. I usually love everything at J Jill. I agree with a previous response, they have been a bit underwhelming lately. I wish they would stop with all the tunics. If you are tall, thin, wear leggings or tight straight legs, tunics look good. Otherwise, I think that they make you look dumpy. Just my 2 cents!

  6. J.Jill sells a lot more than tunics! But for those who love tunics, they have a few selections. You should stop by a store and try on the non-tunic options.

  7. Thank you for the Chanukah wishes but you’re a little early! The first night of Chanukah this year is December 25th. I love your blog and particularly like the Wednesday news for women over 50 posts. Wishing you a Merry Christmas a little early!

  8. Thank you , Shelley. For some reason my daily planner has it starting today. I do appreciate the clarification. I have been to your celebrations and love them!

  9. Thank you Shelley for the date clarification for Chanukah. I was momentarily confused as we do both. My husband is Christian so our little tree is up again and our bright wreaths with fairy lights. I love those Quince trousers in the light ivory or pale grey. But I don’t know when I would get to wear them. Today is my 80th birthday and I am wearing my velveteen dark green jeans and matching tee with gold jewelry for our dog walk around the neighborhood and for chocolate cake and cashew Carmel ice cream this afternoon with my husband Brent and my best friend Judy. That is celebrating here in small town Colorado. We still have snow all over our backyard! I wear my cashmere and wool beanie hat and puffer coat on windy cold dog walks. Trixy has a little red with faux white fur coat she wears on cold walks.

  10. Pam, I can’t thank you enough for the post of 2 days ago about frizzy hair. That is definitely my issue, so I bought the GK shampoo and conditioner that you like. I have only used it one day so far and am absolutely blown away with the difference it has made in my hair!!! I was not familiar with this brand and now I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life. I ALWAYS have to use hot tools to smooth and style my hair after blow drying and using a round brush. This morning, after using GK, I put my hot tools away. I did not need a thing. WOW!

  11. Hi Ann…your message makes me so happy! I am thrilled what I wrote helped you. I know GK has been a game changer for me!

  12. I have an “old” Laura Ashley jacket that is almost identical to the Quince coat except it has brass buttons. I’m thinking that it’s time to “dress from my closet” and bring it out again along with my “crocodile” purse that everyone features! lol
