Yes, I do believe some classics can have a whimsical side, and we will get to the J.Jill’s whimsical classics in a new collection in just a minute.
But, first I am beginning with my whimsical side in the picture at the top.
Over the weekend, Mr. B and I made a stop in one of my very favorite places, Fredericksburg, TX…and he was the one that discovered the sign.
He said…you must take a picture with two signs I found…both whimsical…and I will show you the other one at another time.
But, I want you to know that I am always shopping for you…the followers of this blog…and I will not quit!
So, let’s start by shopping my take on how J.Jill’s whimsical classics in a new collection.
J.JILL’S WHIMSICAL CLASSICS IN A NEW COLLECTION: HEARTS
Hearts in fashion are definitely whimsical classics and fun ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day….really the whole month of February…
And J.Jill’s whimsical classics certainly provides easy ways to enjoy this next holiday.
This top is the MORE LOVE HEART TEE in a comfortable fabric blend of cotton and tencel.
The touch of tencel makes it possible to wear this top well into warmer weather.
J.Jill’s whimsical classics certainly show up in accessories in the new collection and also give us simple ways to celebrate with hearts.
This is the MORE LOVE SQUARE SCARF….and I love it here with the stripes!
I told you socks are in, and what a whimsical way to keep our feet warm from the J.Jill’s whimsical classics.
I love this blue to wear with denim! But, they are also available in black stripes with pink hearts.
These are the MORE LOVE CREW SOCKS.
Might I also suggest these as a cute, whimsical gifts for a daughter, granddaughter, friend, teacher…..you get it!
And……
The socks would also be super cute with any of the five colors that J.Jill offers in this comfy leather moccasin.
This is the BORN OXANA DRIVING MOCS.
J.JILL’S WHIMSICAL CLASSICS IN A NEW COLLECTION: STRIPES
Stripes are also classics, and J.Jill’s whimsical classics present stripes with a touch of joy.
The J.Jill new collection offers new ways to wear our stripes with a smile.
This first top can easily be worn into summer.
This is the ONE-POCKET BUTTON FRONT SHIRT in a color called crystal/white.
A new whimsical way to celebrate classics like stripes is to bring to you new colors.
That is what the J.Jill new collection has done with this stripe in pink sapphire and white.
This is the LONG-SLEEVE PIMA CREW NECK TEE.
This is another top that will go through multiple seasons.
I have seen so many women ask for more colors in striped tops.
The French Terry garments are classics in soft, comfortable causal styles.
And now we have this wonderful whimsical top to enjoy.
This is the PURE JILL FRENCH TERRY INDIGO-STRIPED TUNIC in a fun design.
When I say these classical pieces are whimsical, I simply mean that they make one smile!
And this dress made me smile.
This is the WEAREVER KNIT PLEAT BACK DRESS in the navy blue/caramel stripe.
I do own a couple of the J.Jill pleat back tops and I find them to be very flattering in the fit.
This dress would be cute with boots or any flat.
I know that typically classic fashion is simple, neutral and a bit serious…but it doesn’t have to be that way.

I always feel a little rush of joy when spring starts to pop its head in stores. That picture of you is adorable.
JJill is great in concept for the casual, retirement lifestyle I lead. The fit and easy fabrics remind me of EF. And I love stripes! I do find the collections can be hit or miss, as sometimes I cannot relate to any of it, and some years are actually dreary. But this is a nice one.
Yes! This is a happy one! Thanks Linda,
Thanks Deborah! Once we took the picture with the sign other ladies started to ask their husbands to do it! We started a craze!
I have always loved J Jill clothes. Those tops I must try. That sign is so perfect!!
Thanks for joining in!
Because I buy online, I appreciate it when you show us different stores clothes. I don’t have any j Jill items as yet. Winter is just starting here in Colorado and spring collections are popping up. I love the picture of you! It is a keeper!
I love your fashion blog. It’s nice to see the new clothes that will be good for early spring, but I’m looking out the window and I see icy roads and piles of snow. I would like some inspiration similar to flannel shirts and sherpas. There are still many days of cold winter weather for us up here in Michigan. Thank you for all your good work and I hope to see some outfits that would inspire me for winter.
Love the signage, thanks Mr B
I enjoy wearing stripes. J Jill has some nice new items
Love your picture with the whimsical sign. Lol. Mr. B. found a good one! Thanks for showing us some of this collection. I love the indigo striped French Terry tunic.
I enjoy all your blog posts especially the review of Ina Garten’s memoir and J.Jill’s whimsical classics. I need to go to “over50feeling40.com” to read them. Hopefully in this new year, I can again receive your blog in my email. Thank you for checking into this situation.
Thanks Sydney! It was fun to do this picture.
Hi Mary, I will have a touch of winter tomorrow for you to see. Please know that as the new collections come out for spring others do want to see what is in them even if a blizzard is raging. So I will be doing both for everyone.
I will tell him how many of you liked the picture. Thanks Audrey.
You are so welcome, Deanna.
Virginia,
I really am working on the email issue…it is quite frustrating and above my tech knowledge so I have been relying on help…but over the holidays it has been slow to come. I am doing what I can…I really want it fixed.
Pamela,
I understand your frustration with technology. Please know I am very patient.
Thank you,
Virginia
Thank you for that patience… please send some my way. I get very frustrated when I don’t understand something. Mr. B is checking with someone today to help me!
