Bryn Walker Red for Spring Palette Perfection

spring palette

Happy Friday, everyone.  It has been such a fun week on this blog discussing personal style, and today I am showing how Bryn Walker Red is Spring Palette Perfection.

While my personal style adjectives are a big part of my shopping, lately it has also been about my new spring palette, and shopping with a color fan.

Today, I am telling you the story of how I discovered Bryn Walker red for spring at Dillard’s.

I love red and always have, and I do want to get the best matches of red in my new spring palette.  Up until recently, I have not seen many that made me smile.

So, come along shopping with me today at Dillard’s.

BRYN WALKER RED FOR SPRING PALETTE PERFECTION – HOW IT HAPPENED

I was actually in Dillard’s to look for Mother’s Day ideas, and passed this Bryn Walker display featuring linen and silk.

The shade of red immediately captured my eye and I was convinced it would be a red for me and my spring palette.

And it was…the Bryn Walker red is called Kirsch, and it does match my Poppy Color…which I know is one star…but that still means it is in my best colors.

What’s interesting is that kirsch is a brandy made from cherries, but it is colorless!  I prefer poppy.

I decided to try -on an outfit and see what it looked like on me.

I liked it!

The pieces are:

Bryn Walker Lewis Linen Round Notch Lapel Neck Long Sleeve Open-Front Jacket. ( this is a great linen jacket and I do believe I will wear it often)

Bryn Walker Light Linen Pocketed Trouser Leg Pull-On Pants

I did try on the top, since I wanted to see the jacket and pants.

I do like this top, but it is not in my colors…at least I don’t think it is…but it is a very nice blouse.

It looks more green online, but at the store looks more yellow.

It is the BRYN WALKER Fran Italian Sheer Fiori Print Round Neck 3/4 Ruffle Bell Sleeve High Low Shirt.

Since I was most interested in the jacket for my spring palette wardrobe, I also tried it on with the jeans I wore into the store.

At that point, I was sold.  It would make a nice addition to what I am now building.

I also have at least three events coming up and this jacket will make one of them.

After I got home and looked at my pictures, I decided to order the red pants.  I love linen pants and do not have a red.

Of course, I will show you the event and where I wear the jacket when it happens.

Of course, my casual spring palette wardrobe needs a few new shoes for the new colors.

I love this coral selection in the EASY SPIRIT TRACEE SLIP ON SANDALS which come in no less than 26 options!

I also have my eye on these fun gold HAIGAN SNEAKERS…so cool.

And the JOSY KNOTTED SLIDE SANDALS in the ivory color.

Thanks for joining me today for Bryn Walker Red for Spring Palette Perfection.  Anyone else out there like to wear red?  I am so excited I found this red and in linen…spring palette perfection!

  1. Pam, love the red jacket! Can I ask what size you are wearing? I know Bryn Walker runs big! That color looks great on you!!

  2. Such a pretty outfit! Many years ago when we moved to South Georgia I had little red in my wardrobe. But the high school colors where I taught were red and black so I started looking for clothes in those colors. I soon realized the difference in a yellow red and a blue red, and still look for blue reds in my winter palette. I now have little red in my clothes since “ my” red is often difficult to find, and now retired, my color palette has changed to purples, blues and pinks. I’m sure you will enjoy your new outfit…it is quite striking!

  3. Beautiful outfit to view today! I hope you will change your mind about the ruffle sleeve shirt, it with the red pants are stunning on you! (Of course, I realize the colors of the shirt that I see on my screen and what you saw in person can be very different.) Thanks & have a blessed day.

  4. Hi Nikki, I am wearing a Large. Bryn Walker has is now making garments with better fit and many shorter shirts. I think they are not as oversized as in the past. I like their new collection.

  5. I may ask my color analyst about the shirt, but I don’t think it is in my palette…the yellow color and the black don’t work but the style did.

  6. It is wonderful to find your best red. Mine are tomato and brick. I have just enough pieces to keep me happy. I wish the colors were yours on the top. Great style for you, but correct color comes first. (At least for me.)

  7. I do like red and I think I commented that in the poppy red on the fan I see a lot of blue and would not be surprised to see it on a winter fan. It would be interesting to check that out. The flowered top looks lovely on you in the store and looks very much in the spring pallet. I would check it under natural light because I agree that on line it looks much more in the fall palette. I would agree with Celia that it has been many seasons since a blue red has been available.

  8. I don’t think the shirt is really in your colors. The overall effect isn’t bright enough, at least on my monitor. The poppy looks nice on you, and I think is a very versatile color. I’ve always found red super easy to mix in my own wardrobe, and it always looks so beautiful with neutrals.

  9. I agree, Deborah. My color near my face makes such a difference that it is a priority. I like the blouse alot but the color doesn’t work…so glad the red did…I love it.

  10. I really may ask my color analyst her opinion…nice to be in a smaller town where I can do that! Thanks Linda.

  11. When you find a favorite color and it is in the fabric you love and it fits! Wow! Go for it! Red is one of my no go colors but you look vibrant in it. Now you will have to find a top or two to go with your Poppy red. How fun!

  12. Such a happy red and it looks great on you. I may have to take my color wallet to Dillard’s and see if it would work for me. While I am not a spring, as a tonal warm I share some spring colors though not as many as autumn. The silk top is gorgeous but hard to tell if its your colors, especially looking at it online.

  13. I wear red. I have a red sweater dress for cold weather, then in the warmer weather my choice is red prints in my tops to wear with white or denim.
You look great in your red outfit.

  14. Pam, you look so alive and happy in the red. It suits you to a tee. Also I feel it makes you look young and vibrant. You chose so well.
You will stand out in a crowd.
    “Treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself.”
    Have a lovely day.

  15. So excited to see you find such flattering, versatile pieces in a new spring color you love! The pants and jacket can function as a suit on those rare occasions that you need one, but will also make great separates. I really like the details on the pant legs – makes them unique and adds that creative touch that says “Pam’s pants,” but not in a way that makes them hard to wear as a wardrobe basic. Thanks for the tip on the Easy Spirit sandals. Salmon is the primary color in my summer wardrobe, and I ordered them in that color using your link and discount. I’m hoping that is a style my fussy feet can wear. Backless styles are hard for me since my surgery, since I can’t grip with my toes. If they fit, I plan to get a second pair in the denim floral color. Keep these great spring/summer ideas coming. After that crazy cold spell last weekend it really feels like spring is here to stay this week!
