The Thursday Edit

Happy Thursday, all! Welcome to my weekly post called The Thursday Edit.
The Thursday Edit shows you what I have been pulling together from my closet and explaining why.
My wardrobe has been through three different color analyses, and two major body changes with up and down weight issues.
So, I never really know what I will find there and why I held on to some items and passed on the others.

I have five deep purple tops that I have held on to since I was told I was an Autumn.
But, now that I see I really am a spring palette, I have not worn the purple …yet, held on to it. I wasn’t really sure why I was holding on to them.
Now, I know why…my grandsons are in a school system where the school colors are deep purple, gold and white.
I do not enjoy wearing school tee shirts…and I have tried several times, but just do not like to wear them (on me.).
I also had this gold Talbots tee when I was an autumn, and it is a little oversized now…but I held on to it.
So, I created this look for my grandson’s final football game of the season this week.
The purple short kimono was originally from Chico’s.
This is more me than a school tee. I need to hang on to all of the purple and may need a new purple top for next year.
Now, on to the rest of The Thursday Edit.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – ASIAN INSPIRED

I own several long toppers that I still love and wear…though, I acknowledge that the shorter toppers are looking better lately.
For some reason, I have always been drawn to Asian-Inspired style and that is one of the reasons I do like this topper a lot.
This is the TOMIKO JACKET in the color birch….and it is on sale.
On this day, I styled it with a dark brown tank from Chico’s and a old Chico’s necklace. I love these neutrals together.
My knit pants are older as well and are T by Talbots.

Then another grandson and I went out thrift shopping.
I am so excited to have one that enjoys thrift shopping. I found a little Christmas decor, and he found three top brand, gently used tee shirts.
We were both very happy with our purchases.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – A GREAT COLOR

For me, a big part of my personal style is color.
I would not ever be happy in all neutrals, all the time…but that again is my unique style.
This is from Chico’s TRAVELERS COLLECTION a year ago…and I love this deep teal.
I do believe I can get away with successfully wearing any of the warm palette colors; yet, I acknowledge that Spring shades are my best.
I am so glad that I got the cardigan and the tank, because I have worn this tank several different ways.
This is what I put on to go vote this week and run a couple of errands.
The touch of turquoise jewelry just seemed to pop with it.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – MAKEUP

My daughter headed out this day without makeup on, and was called to stop by a special event.
She was closer to my house than her own, so she stopped in to use my makeup!
As I helped to hand her items I believed she would like, she said, “Mom, this is great makeup! Send me all of these links!”
I do not use just one makeup line, but several. So, I am posting here what I gave her to wear that day that she loved…and I wear as well….
- Loreal Eyebrow Kit
- Perricone MD Finishing and Firming Tinted Moisturizer
- (After she put on #2, she asked for something a little heavier and used JONES ROAD TINTED MOISTURIZER
- Miracle Balm for a touch of blush and shine.
- And there was high praise from her for my favorite mascara….Nikol Volume Up Mascara.
- Nikol Ageless Eye Palette for shadow.
I was so happy she liked what I gave to her and wanted more.
Thank you for joining me for The Thursday Edit. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I will be here tomorrow and hope you will be as well…until then…
