Free Anti-Aging Secrets: #5 Get Inspired!

I saw this scarf from the “W” collection and
I immediately could see an outfit of separates
from my closet in these colors.  I could not
purchase the scarf, but I have the makings of a look!

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I am in the process of reading Tim Gunn’s book, Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work. Rule 5 is GET INSPIRED IF IT KILLS YOU!

Here are a few standout quotes:

“Dullness is of your own making.”

Season 7 designer, Emilio Sosa, seemed to lack inspiration and “in my book that is a cardinal sin.”

“I like the idea of always learning. Always. If you are not learning, what makes you want to get up in the morning?”

I see a black skirt, with a smokey grey top, and a shimmering
white blouse!

In the past month, I have had at least three people ask me how I get inspiration for my style. That is a tough question to answer, because so many things inspire me. I might see an outfit in a movie, a book, a television show, a fashion magazine, architecture, a painting, another blog, a student, nature, music, interior décor, a mannequin….it is really difficult to list all the ways I am inspired.

I love this photo from my driveway!  I see a tweed
skirt, with a vibrant red blouse, and green jacket or
cardigan to top!
Dullness is of our own making…the world is fabulous with so much inspiration around us.  We just need to open our eyes!  Also, it’s fun!
Next week, I am going to write about the inspiration of autumn.
I cannot get enough of a season that is just too short!

I would like to say THANK YOU to Kristin from Bringing Pretty
Back for asking me to be her guest today on Blog Radio…it was so much fun!  We were having such a great time talking we almost forgot the time the show was to end!  She archives all of her shows, so you can listen to the recorded version while you cook dinner!
