I was so excited to see Serene at the Elegant Bohemian write about following our dreams! Make sure you go read her post….it is never too late to follow a dream. I would like to encourage all of you to support her in her new endeavor to have an online thrift boutique on ebay. If you have some great items you would like to give away, just send them to Serene! (She did not ask me to do this, by the way) Her mailing address is:

Serene McEntyre

5301 Grace Park Drive

Morrisville, NC 27560

I believe it is important that we support one another when someone has the courage to follow a dream. Just think of yourself as a member of her executive board! This blog has been part of a dream for me, and I have many coals in the fire, seeking to make more dreams become a reality. I do not think it is a mistake to keep pursuing; I believe it would only be a mistake not to try at all. We live in interesting times. It is no longer a guarantee that we will always have a job or that we will have any retirement funds available. Therefore, it is important that we be diligent, determined, and courageous to pursue other venues. When you fall down, pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and go again.

This necklace was designed by a young, Texas woman pursuing her dream:
Bracelet:  Stein Mart

I have met so many amazing women through this blog who are pursuing dreams…maybe they are designers, or boutique owners, or jewelry artists….but all are attempting to do what they love and earn a living by it.

Here’s to all of them! Here’s to the courageous.

Here’s to Serene and to anyone else pursuing a dream.

  1. Pam, you're just too kind! Thanks so much and I'm excited about your dreams!!! I like the way you dream BIG (just like Texas, eh?)! You make such a great point. I've spent so much of my life applying for a paycheck. As my husband is about 10 years from retirement and we don't know where these next 10 years will take us, I want to have something that goes with me and I'm not spending my energy building someone else's brand only to be at their mercy. I've never been great at being proactive, but I'm thankful to have been pushed out of the nest and into my vision. Much love to you Pam! ~Serene

  2. Good for Serene for following that dream. You are so right that we need to support each other. I remember each and every person who has ever given me the slightest encouragement in the twists and turns of my life. But here's something funny: I also remember every person who doubted or disparaged me when I shared my dreams, plans, or goals. Because THEY were the ones who (however unintentionally) lit the fire under me to go out and do it. I showed them!

  3. Good for Serene for pursing her passion.

You look radiant in these photos…your gorgeous smile is your best accessory. But that statement necklace is pretty spectacular, too.

  4. I'm excited for Serene too. I visited her eBay store today and there are several items I have my eye on. Reasonable prices too. You're right that much about our future seems uncertain these days…DH and I have had these conversations too.
