If I had more money to spend on me….wow, that could be a really long post! But, actually, what I was pondering recently is what would I buy for myself if money was not an issue? One line of clothing I would have in my closet would be Eileen Fisher…I love the minimal, casual, ease of the knits and just the overall style for this time of my life.
Love Eileen Fisher’s styles!! |
Alas, I do not have the income for Eileen Fisher…but I can try my best to get close to the look and that is why I was drawn to purchase this jacket after Christmas at Stein Mart. With coupons, it was $22 and I really like the way the knit feels and looks. I think I will get much wear out of this one especially as I transition to spring. I do want to make note that I like it better unbuttoned and open, but for some reason took the pictures this way. Next time I wear it on the blog, it will be open. Open is more flattering!!

Speaking of warmer weather, today in San Antonio we are expecting close to ninety degree temps! So, I am loving my new sunglasses by designer Carmen Marc Valvo! Valvo’s professional career began as a ready to wear designer for Nina Ricci in Paris followed by a stint at Christian Dior. This was after he attended Parsons School of Design in New York and soon became known for his fit and masterful detailing. In 1989, he launched his own sportswear that was an instant success; but, it was the launch of his Couture collection in 1998 that captured the hearts of the buyers at Sakes Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
Today, he is known for his sportswear collection, shoes, limited-edition jewelry designs, swimwear and a now a highly anticipated eyewear line. He brings to his designs an aesthetic for glamorous dressing which was founded in the roots of a Spanish/Italian family in New York. Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) wrote of him, “Over the years, the designer has demonstrated the talent to do it all.” I love the classic beauty of these glasses and will most likely live in them as summer nears.
Finally, my hands are ready for summer after a month of using hand cream from The Organic Skin Company. I am always painfully aware that our skin and system absorb what we rub on to it and that it why I try to pay attention to what is in the creams I use. This hand cream has worked wonders for keeping wrinkles away and I do not have to worry about what is in it. Check out their website…they have many products online.

I love the soft jacket – and now that I see it's from Grace Elements, I understand better: their pieces are so soft and comfortable – I think you picked a fab EF substitute! That hot weather is headed our way – we'll have 86 degrees tomorrow. What to wear??? : >
Alas, my glasses are prescription and bifocals to boot…only one pair that I just last week had to replace. You rock the white jacket. Mari
90 degrees? When does the plane leave? I am longing for warm temps. I will have to check out that hand cream. I have the driest hands. I gave up my job as a hairstylist due to the eczema it caused. I have been in search of a miracle product that is finally going to cure my dry hands once and for all. I will have to check it out! xo
I like her line too. Loving your necklace today too my friend.Thank you for linking it to the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop linky party xo
It was 70 here yesterday and now much colder today. Strange, strange weather.
Very nice outfit. I love the color combo and your jewelry. Yes, I think we would be very dangerous shopping together! Especially when it comes to jewelry! I just bought a really pretty necklace (that I did not need, but it is fantastic) that I will have to wear soon. You have given me an idea for a post on what line of clothing I would wear if I had the money. I inherited my love of expensive items from my Mother, unfortunately, we did not come from a line of independently weathly people.
Oh, and I forgot to say-how cool is it that Wendy showed so many of us over 40/50/60 bloggers in her Huff post? She is a such a wonderful woman to support us.
You have the best cuffs! I love this one…it's very bold.
I have about 7 or 8 pairs of sunglasses. But I only wear two of them. I probably need to part with the others since they are just sitting in a drawer collecting dust.
Ray-bans are my favorite brand of sunglasses. I love that they will repair your glasses for a small fee. I have often sent mine back to Italy for new lenses. It takes a long time, but it's worth the wait.
If I had lots of money and I could pick one designer to splurge on, it would be Diane von Furstenburg, hands down.
Have a lovely warm and sunny day! xoxo, Adrienne
Pam's futures so bright she's gotta wear shades!!!
I own no sunglasses but have transitional lenses in my glasses.
Love the jacket–it looks like it will be a versatile piece in your wardrobe.
If money were no object—hmmmmm—I like so many designers and lines it would be a hard choice!
I love your style, I am also over fifty but feeling forty (and acting like it, hehehe)
I am loving this Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop Linky Parky!! I am now following you and would love a follow back. Please hop over and check out my blog

Thanks, I enjoyed the visit!
Nice buys, I really like the white blazer for spring/summer…it's smart but more casual than darker colours.
That jacket is great on you! I agree it's probably more flattering open, as many of them are in general. The sunglasses are awesome too! Sadly, I own one pair of sunglasses. And they stay in my car. I only wear them when the sun is too bright when I'm driving; otherwise I just don't wear them because they give me a headache.
We have Eileen Fisher in the UK now and if I had more money, I'd be wearing it. You have some lovely jewellery, really striking pieces – and I like your new look blog. Thinking of giving mine a facelift too!
I only own 4 pairs of sunglasses, 2 chanel, 1 gucci, 1 fendi. I love the ones you have from Carmen Marc Valvo, they frame your face nicely. Also, I wanted to congratulate you on your feature in Huffington Post! Awesome job with the denim 🙂
I have a prescription (so I can SEE) so I tend to only have one pair of sunglasses. I did recently splurge and have my prescription put in my Ray Ban aviators though. I'm an old follower just stopping by via the hop to say hello! Donna
great sunnies
i have about 5 pair, but never seem to know where they are lol
brett
DH has 18 pair of sunglasses! I have one pair and a new pair is actually one of the few items that is on my current shopping list. May have to investigate this designer.
Hi Pam,
I have quite a few pairs but seem to use my Ray-Bans the most…very comfy. I never realized the importance of sunnies until I had sunburn eyes….it's very painful. I never go anywhere without them.
Have a wonderful weekend Pam!
p.s. I would love to sign up for the giveaway but I don't have a facebook account. The blouse is really lovely tho.
I live in Florida so I have lots of sunglasses but I wear my Ray Bans ALL the time! Have to have a good pair here! Yours are so stylish! The hand cream looks interesting! ♥
