Stocking Stuffers, Grumpy Shoppers, and One Great Smile!

Oh my goodness, it’s a jungle out there!!  The traffic is crazy with shoppers and
party goers and revelers….and more!  Two
ladies almost wiped me out in the Kohls parking lot and then when I got inside
I was met with the grumpy, the irritable, and the down- right nasty.   I really do not understand why people feel
as though being rude will help them get home any faster.
Then, while standing in line, I began to focus on one
checker.  She was smiling and greeting
customers at her counter with a hand shake.
Merry Christmas…immediately diffused the grumpy at that counter.  One attempted to complain to her and she just
smiled and said, “We are happy to get you accommodated sir!”
Her attitude was contagious and you could tell a distinct
difference on her side of the checkout area as opposed to the other side where
tired checkers were ready to spar with any customer over the slightest
complaint.  I wish I could’ve shot a
video…she was schooling everyone else!
So, be careful if you have last minute details to attend to
and keep smiling…it makes a huge difference!

Here are my favorite treasures from the stocking stuffer
shopping trip!  Both my daughter and
soon-to-be daughter-in-law are setting up new households, so I found these fun,
inexpensive items at Tuesday Morning, where Gigi sent me!  I could have gone really crazy there…so many
ideas at reasonable prices.
Rubber Gloves and Scrub Brush for the Fashionistas’ Kitchen!!
Happy Saturday, everyone…just three days until Christmas!
Gigi knows all the fun places to shop…including Chicos, where she found
this great leopard tunic sweater.  I love it!!

  1. When I encounter people like that, I just assume that something very sad is going on in their lives. It's such a difficult time of year, especially this season, we all could use a smile like the checker you mention was greeting her customers with.

I wish I could wear those gloves. They are so cute but latex and I don't get along. Darn! I have to wear very boring and utilitarian non-latex gloves.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Pam, you look beautiful and full of Christmas cheer. You're right about the difference a smile and a cheerful greeting make when everyone is feeling stressed and overworked.
