MY SLOW COOKER BEEF STEW
Recently, I shared Leigh Ann’s recipe for beef stew and I know several of you tried it and liked it.
I currently do not have access to an oven (more on that later), but we enjoy my beef stew in a slow cooker…so I wanted to share that recipe with you…more involved but very good!
- First take 2 pounds of trimmed, lean stew meat and marinate it during the day in Lea & Perrin’s Worcestershire Sauce (most natural, aged, healthy ingredients over other brands) and Uncle Chris Gourmet Steak Seasoning by Fiesta
- When you are ready to put everything in the crock pot, toss the meat in 1/4 cup of flour and then brown it in olive oil…just long enough to brown…then put in the crockpot.
- Add 5-10 red potatoes, diced; 1 large chopped onion; 1 cup chopped celery; a package of sliced Bolthouse Farms Carrots, a cup of small green peas, an 8 oz package of sliced mushrooms, a can of diced tomatoes, and 3 minced garlic cloves.
- Then add one fresh bay leaf, 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme, 1 teaspoon of allspice, salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour over it 1 cup of real cherry juice (you could use red wine!), 2 cups of your favorite beef stock
- Then I lay on top some fresh parsley from my garden and discard the stems after cooking…you can also discard the stems before…I was just lazy!
- Then I stir it…and cook on low for 10 hours overnight. (Be warned…Your kitchen will smell delicious!!
OH YES, THE BEAUTIFUL BABY!

Thank you for stopping by for today’s talk…how are things in your world…I hope going well. Thank you for all who shared your thoughts last Friday…elegance will continue to be our topic on Fridays, so see you tomorrow!

Oh my! Those precious little girls! What a gorgeous picture Pam, that is definitely a keeper!! That really made me smile this morning!! What a blessing!
Your whole outfit is so “fall” and so put-together, it’s perfect. I like the proportions with the boots, tucked in jeans and the longer jacket. The necklace is so perfect for your creative side too! The boots have so many fun details…I really like those. It’s not always easy to find tall boots that are also comfortable, so this is good to know. The wedge heel allows for height and leg-lengthening without sacrificing comfort and stability. Really cute boots! Looks like you’re ready to take a walk in the falling leaves. Probably not happening in Texas yet, but you’re ready! Your stew sounds delicious too. I’ll bet that would be a good vegetable stew for those who don’t eat meat too, it has a lot of flavor components! Thank you for sharing the fall recipes. It’s warm here this week (until Saturday), which is unusual, but means I’ll be finishing up my yard clean up preparing for the winter. Nice to do it on the warm, sunny days.
So glad our special little ladies made you smile this morning, Karen! I can’t wait to wear these boots out but our weather has been in the 90s for two weeks!! So sad! 😢
Precious girls!!!! What a special time for you and your family! Love the boots!!! You have inspired me – I’ve always loved the way they look on others, but always felt like it just “wasn’t me” for some reason….. Love that outfit and your glow of confidence and elegance in it – I’m definitely going to give tall boots another chance!
Glad to it, Shirley! These are so comfy!
Perfect length jacket on you. Not too short or not too long. hits right at knuckle. mAkes you look tall and slim.
you look fantastic in that outfit!
i want to try that stew, been rainy here for days, i need comfort food, lol
those babies…so beautiful.!
This is one of my past finds from Goodwill San Antonio. It’s a fave…thanks Pam
Thank you, Sheryl! The stew is really good!!
What a precious photo of both your Grand Daughters. Such sweetness!
Shall definitely give your recipe a try as its cold here. (Mid 50’s.) Want to trade temperatures? As to those boots; they look and sound amazingly comfortable and do like that the zipper extends full length (as some don’t.) On that note though; I have the worse time finding long boots as most are too large on the calf so normally that is my 2nd concern re style/make so finding a pair is a mission in itself as prefer mine snug (regardless what they are made of) namely to eliminate chafing which can prove to be uncomfortable if doing any amount of walking. -Brenda-
Tip: As shared with you previously Pamela; for your readers when storing your long boots to help retain their shape — an economical solution is cut ‘n re-size a ‘pool noodle’ to its shaft length and insert it.
Yes, I love the noodle idea. These are one of the few tall boots that are just right at the top…not too big, not too tight…I guess I will call them my Goldilocks boots. Thanks Brenda…I would definitely trade weather if I could!
Your gran-girls are precious…just adorable! I love being a g-ma. The boots you model are fantastic. I never heard of that brand before, but will check them out. They are leg lengthening and look great with your outfit. Pool noodles! Genius idea..I’ve always used rolled up newspapers before, but the love noodle idea.
Thanks for sharing the pic of your new granddaughter and her adoring holder! So happy for you!! Then on top of that you show up looking AMAZINGLY gorgeous in this fall outfit! What a tremendous role model for grandmothers everywhere. 😉 The boots are very stylish. As a rather rural Oregonian, I have more boots than is probably technically necessary – but dark brown suede is not in my closet, so if I can find them in a wide width they may need to join the gang. 😁
Congratulations on your adorable granddaughters! New babies and big sisters are the best!
Thanks Connie!
They are pretty cute together!
What a precious picture! The love in big sister’s eyes & the rapt attention of baby sister are priceless. Treasure these special moments.
I know it goes fast Becky.., thank you!
The boots are awesome! I may have to try those! And you are looking very well. I can tell that the healthy eating and working out is really working. And the grandgirls…aren’t they just the best? That pic is darling… Glad to hear all is well! Hugs!
Thank you Kay…hugs back at you!
