62 Days of Holiday Joy: Let’s begin with a recipe contest
Can you believe it? It is November 1, and time to begin our 62-Day- Journey through the holiday season until we reach that much anticipated new year!
So, I thought…what better way to kick off the season than with a RECIPE CONTEST!!
OK…here is what you need to know:
- There will be two winners (One for Hot Chocolate and one for dessert) of a fun gift box of goodies…(I would want to win it)…so I hope you will be blessed by it!
- Send your favorite Hot Chocolate Recipe and favorite holiday dessert recipe to over50feeling40@gmail.com. In the subject line, write RECIPE CONTEST and include your name and mailing address.
- When I say holiday dessert…it can be for any gathering…Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, winter guests, or New Year’s.
- Submit your recipes by November 13.
- My wonderful friend and blog assistant, Leigh Ann, and I will select winners. We are looking for great taste, something different and maybe unexpected, not too difficult to prepare.
- Winners will be announced on November 30…so these recipes can be used for the remaining 32 days to make your holidays bright.
- Please share this with anyone you like…the more the merrier.
I am so excited about this and cannot wait to see what you send!! Please start soon!
In order to get you excited, I thought I would link to my favorite personal cookie recipe…which has a secret ingredient that I know is still available in most markets…and these are not meant to be healthy (Just tasty!)…and fun with a great lesson attached.

What a lovely gift to us this holiday season. I was just remarking to my husband how different this Christmas will be without the usual events and concerts and parties and even family gatherings. Maybe we all will have time to really enjoy our homes, decorations, lights, holiday movies and good food. I’m really going to enjoy 62 days of celebrating with you.
So glad to have you here, Sue! I hope to serve up a cup of joy!
Looking forward to this and I, for one, need it . I feel that the virus has robbed so much joy out of my life and I find the daily blogs provide an uplift each day. Thank you and I will be trying some of the recipes.
Great kick-off idea!!! I look forward to these 62 days and whatever you have to share on the blog. BTW, my beautiful new cashmere lined gloves arrived in the mail yesterday afternoon. They are so supple and fit – ha! – like a glove. 😄 Thanks again for your introduction to the Black brand. It was fun receiving a package from the U.K.
I just submitted 2 of my absolute favorite (easy) holiday dessert recipes – thanks for the opportunity to share some yummy goodness with others!!
Can’t wait to see them, Michele! Thanks for joining in!
This is such good news…you received them quickly and you like them. I do like their products a lot! Thanks Connie!
Let’s return that joy together, Dorothy! Thanks for being here.
Since retirement my husband has become the cookie maker in our house. He started with chocolate chip and especially during Covid has expanded his repertoire. My present favourite are called ‘ I want to marry you’ cookies. A delightful oatmeal cookie with both milk chocolate and white chocolate chips in them. Yum!
Looking forward to the results of your recipe challenge. As different people in the family have different favourites I’ll have to give it some thought.
Sounds like your husband needs to enter too!
You are such an uplifting person, Pamela! I feel the warmth, and happiness you must project when I real your blog every day, and see your beautiful smile! You make me want to be better, do better in my own life. Your lead-up to Christmas will be filled with much enthusiasm and joy as it should be for all who believe in the magic of the season. And thank you for the cookie recipe…I’m sure our grandchildren will love it!
Thank you so much, Celia. Those cookies are a favorite with every member of my family!
Looking forward to your sixty-two days of Holiday Joy and so generous of you Pamela to offer a contest. -Brenda-
