Haven and Talbots: When extreme comfort wear is required

extreme comfort wear

Happy Monday, everyone.  Welcome to Haven at Talbots: when extreme comfort wear is required.

I did much preparation before today’s foot surgery and I knew that extreme comfort wear would be required.

I purchased from two brands and will feature one today and the other on Thursday.

Please do not tell me that these looks are not flattering…that was not on my mind while shopping for extreme comfort wear.

I think surgery, where down time is required, has me needing what I call extreme comfort wear.

I tried on and purchased larger sizes than I normally wear….on purpose.

I also purchased more wide leg pants knowing I would be in a boot.

But, I will give you an adverse opinion to the wide leg pants on Thursday from someone with experience.

I did not think about my best colors…my style adjectives…or the fit.

I only thought about optimal comfort…it needed to be extreme and for cooler weather.

I have plenty of sleep shirts I can lounge in on days when the weather warms back up.

So join me as I visit Haven at Talbots in search of extreme comfort wear.

HAVEN AT TALBOTS: WHEN EXTREME COMFORT WEAR IS REQUIRED

The first time I walked by the Haven at Talbots table and display, I reached out, touched it and was immediately in love.

These fabrics are super soft and made for extreme comfort wear.  The word I say every time I touch it is AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I believe that Haven at Talbots is one of the best comfort wear lines around.

This is the DREAM SOFT PAJAMA SHIRT.

I have it on with the DREAM SOFT PAJAMA PANTS.

My plan is to put this on later today after we return home…it was the one purchase I made on this trip.

I did not purchase these pants until later when there was a sale.

Haven does make a SPLIT LEG VERSION and in hindsight I perhaps I should’ve gone that direction with the boot in mind.

These are the COMFORT FLEECE WIDE LEG PANTS in faux heather.

For my extreme comfort wear, I desired tops that are larger and cozy.

But, I liked this top and wanted to show it to the readers.

This is the Fleece Half Zip Sweatshirt in fawn heather.  It feels great!

Here is the same top that I tried on with the T by Talbots Ribbed High Waist Flare Leggings.

I bought these pants to be my go to comfort pants after the boot goes away…they are super comfy.

The flared leg is not as wide as a wide leg pant.

This Aloe Heather is such a lovely soft green that I also wanted to show it to you.

It is the same Fleece Half Zip Sweatshirt with the FLEECE WIDE LEG PANT in Aloe Heather.

This is a perfect outfit for extreme comfort wear.

I have to warn you…Haven at Talbot is so comfy, that you may not want to get dressed again in street clothes until spring!

HAVEN AT TALBOTS: WHEN EXTREME COMFORT WEAR IS REQUIRED in ACCESSORIES

extreme comfort wear

For those of you with extreme comfort wear needed on TWO feet, I do recommend two slippers.

These are the ORGANIC COTTON TERRY WAFFLE SLIPPERS.…come in several colors.

These were the most comfy slippers.

They are the SHERPA SLIPPERS.

My favorites were not in store, but I love the SUEDE MULE SLIDES. In the dusty mauve bark color.

Underneath the slippers is the cashmere wrap I wore above that is soooooo soft.

This is the CASHMERE WRAP in fresh cream.  But, seriously, that brown called cocoa…is my favorite…it is a gorgeous brown.

Now here are more items from Haven that you may want to see…especially if you are in need of extreme comfort wear…

And don’t forget that Talbots is a great place for Joyful dressing…and cozy holiday pajamas.

If you have questions,  please ask them.  I may not answer today, but will answer.  Thanks for being here and for all of the advice so many of you have passed along after your foot surgery experience.

Also, if I have posted a link on a specific garment, and you use that link to go to the website of the brand, but look around and buy something else, I still get credit…though you do not buy what I am wearing.

Please ask any questions… this income helps keep me here, because even at age 70, Mr. B and I need additional income.  He also works two jobs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who shops this way.

  1. Praying for you, Pam, for a quick recovery. At least you’ll look and feel your best on this journey! Having both Haven and Talbot’s regular pajamas, it’s a good thing you purchased a larger size. I have several pairs of Talbot’s pajamas, one gifted, and they have shrunk quite a bit. I never, never put any of my clothes in the dryer, so it’s not that. The Haven items did not do this. In fact, I tried to shrink the Haven ones and can’t! Not sure why the difference? They do have lovely things, but I recommend sizing up in the Talbot’s brand pajamas. The slippers look comfortable too.

  2. Thank you, Karen. I have these pjs all laid out and ready to put on when I get home later! These are all HAVEN. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  3. Praying for you this morning, and for the medical personnel who will take care of you and your foot. Will be buying something online from Talbots today using your connection as I have $20 to spend.

  4. Well wishes on your recovery. In my experience the first two days are the worst. Then things get progressively better, take advantage of any and all offers of assistance. And keep ahead of the pain.
I am curious, can you shower? Can you remove the boot? I had to wear an abductor brace for 3 months and couldn’t shower. I do not wish that on anyone.

  5. Have fun shopping, Celia. About to leave for the surgery center…thank you for all the prayers. We also prayed this morning for the staff and doctor.

  6. I do not know many details yet, but will keep everyone informed. Thanks so much Ann.

  7. My thoughts will be with you today during your surgery and I wish you a quick and successful recovery. As a newer reader, what foot surgery you are having as I am facing bunion surgery on both feet in the next couple of months. I love the comfy outfits and I need to look at Haven by Talbots! Thanks for all of your wonderful tips on fashion, home accessories, news, and recipes. Take care of yourself!

  8. Wishing you a pain-free quick recovery, Pam! With your positive spirit, I know you will be up and going soon but do take this down time to recharge and re-energize yourself. Its’ warranted!

  9. Hi sweet Pam,
I’m praying for you as you navigate through your recovery! I have had two bunion surgeries, and another recent surgery where my large toe joint was replaced with a titanium joint, and both toes next to the big toes shortened on each foot. Those “boots” somewhat frightened me at first, but, I adjusted and was so glad I had them. They gave me room and support when there was no way a shoe was going to fit over my bandaged feet! While not the most fashionable, those medical boots really helped. I love your words that maybe God is using this down time to really connect with you more intimately. Right now, I am in the middle of having vein surgery on both of my legs. One leg was done last Monday, one is to be done next Monday. I can’t do my normal “running” around, and have been frustrated. Your words reminded me there is a loving Father who would love more precious time with me. Thank you for those words, Pam. ❤️ I pray for you healing, patience, and precious time with our Father in Heaven. Remember, one day at a time, or, one hour at a time. Soon, you will have a beautiful new foot.

  10. Wishing you a speedy recovery but remember your foot is doing the healing not your brain so don’t forget to listen to it. Take Good Care!

  11. Pam. I think that all of your followers are praying for you today and hoping for an easy and complete recovery. All of these comfort clothes are so pretty and should suit your needs in recovery.
    Bless you!

  12. What a great array of comfy garments for your recovery and beyond! I need some of those “Joy” PJ’s and appreciate Karen’s tip on shrinkage. I wish I had invested in some pieces like you’ve shown when I had my foot surgeries in the fall of 2020, but we were still working from home due to COVID, so I made do with an old pair of my daughter’s discarded sweatpants whacked off a the knees. Only my two best friends saw me in them, but I think my mental state would have been better if I had taken the time to choose a few pieces like the ones you’ve shown. I set my alarm early today to pray for your procedure, and I hope by now you are home and resting comfortably under Mr. B’s care. Rest easy and know the community of like-minded women you have created will be here to support you, even if you are not up to posting new content every day.

  13. Dear Pam,
You are in my thoughts as you move forward with your recovery. You were so smart to get everything prepared to give you the most TLC. It’s so important to have all the creature comforts possible at your finger tips.

  14. Hi Pam. I am a Talbot’s Associate and I am recovering from foot surgery that took place a month ago. (I miss working and my wonderful co-workers.) Anyway, my Talbots pajamas and my Haven lounge wear was really comfortable those first few weeks after surgery. The bottoms were the only pant that could accommodate the large cast and the boot I am wearing now. I pray you will have a quick recovery and a good outcome. I would love to share with you especially when you need some encouragement. I know it isn’t fun to have your wings clipped and to have to rely on others for help. Listen to your doctor and don’t rush it.

  15. Pam, praying for you for a quick recovery. From a previous boot wearer they are not made for comfort like the clothing from Haven, but eventually the boot will only be a memory. Blessings

  16. Prayers for a rapid & complete recovery. I’m glad that you have planned ahead for comfort & TLC.

  17. By now you are probably in recovery or even on your way home. You will feel rough today and maybe for three days and then turn a corner. Bayou will know when you do even if it is subtle. Take your pain medication as long as you need them and phase off as your pain lessons. That is the purpose of pain medication. I’m am old retired RN who has taken care of many people in pain. I have also been on the patient side as I have a total right knee. Your relationship with God will take you through this and we love and support your everyday struggles. Blog only when we’ll enough and to just chat with all of us. Blessings sweet lady.

  18. Pamela….I have been in prayer for you all throughout the day. Blessings for a complete and speedy recovery. Take special care.

  19. Love Haven! I do hope all goes well with your surgery and recoveryd. Friends & daughter in law found the healing process challenging 🙏
