JJILL try-on for spring outfits

JJILL try-on for spring

Happy April 15th!  Rather than dwell on the tax-man, come join me for a JJILL try-on for spring outfits.

I know on this day some may want to wear black and mourn what they owe for taxes, but I would rather look at my JJILL try-on for spring.

When I stopped by the JJILL location at the Alamo Quarry, there were several new style and colors to see…so I decided to show them to you.

Just a reminder that this particular try-on is all for you, ladies.  Some of you live in cooler climates than me,  and some of you wear different colors than me.

One note: After recovery from surgery, I am back in a place I did not plan to return to, but have weight which has come back and I am solidly between sizes.  Wearing the size I was right before surgery is too small, and sizing up makes the tops look big.

So, please be patient with me which I try to give you a best look at some of this JJILL try-on for spring.

I hope you enjoy what I have to try-on for you today.

Let’s get started…..

JJILL TRY-ON FOR SPRING OUTFITS: GORGEOUS COLOR

JJill try-on for spring

During my JJILL try-on for spring outfits, I discovered some new colors I believe you will like.

This color is called beach plum…and it is vibrant and lovely.

I do like the style of this dress with a beautiful neckline; however, my arms are not in the shape I desire to show them off.

This is the SLEEVELESS TIERED MAXI DRESS in beach plum and it also is available in a green print…which is also nice.

My favorite pairing of this dress is with the BUTTERFLY-PRINTED RUANA.

I could see wearing this for many spring and summer occasions.

The sales associates are always helpful during my JJILL try-on for spring.

They brought me several options to hide my arm situation.

The denim jacket seemed so heavy for this look (but I do like it with the green print dress), so the only option I wanted to show you is the LINEN-BLEND SINGLE BUTTON CARDI in white.

It might have looked better sizing down, but I still prefer the ruana with this dress.

JJILL TRY-ON FOR SPRING OUTFITS: FOR COOLER CLIMATES

JJILL try-on for spring

My JJILL try-on for spring did unearth some pieces perfect for those of you who live in cooler climates.

I really like this jacket in the capri blue denim, but my favorite color for it is in the natural.

This is the CURVED-HEM DENIM JACKET, and I found it to be very flattering.

Online, you can see It styled with the dress above in the green print.

I am wearing the capri blue with the PIMA STRETCH KNIT LAYERING TANK underneath.

JJILL try-on for spring

You know I like navy blue and cream for spring, so I went for this top to show you.

This is the Collared Pullover Sweater,  and it is a great pullover for those of you able to wear sweaters for awhile.

This speaks classic to me.

I could see ladies wearing many of these spring outfits out on a boat where it is windy and perhaps a little cooler.

I have always been a fan of hoodies, so here is the PURE JILL FRENCH TERRY EMBOIDERED-HOOD PULLOVER.

This is one of the prettiest, classiest hoodies I have seen lately.

JJILL TRY-ON FOR SPRING OUTFITS: NEW COLORS

JJILL try-on for spring

I found a few nice colors for you in my JJILL try-on for spring.

This is a very soft gray called Zinc.

I tried on the LONG LINEN DUSTER JACKET In zinc.  It also comes in a lovely blue called Amalfi

They styled it with this beautiful cardigan…I liked all the colors available of this cardi.

It is the ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON V-NECK CARDIGAN…the garden green color is so pretty.

It is very soft and lovely for spring.

When I saw this top, I believed there were women in this audience who would like it.

When you purchase with my links, I get to see what you like and prefer…so that is why I tried this one for you.

This is the SMOCKED-BODICE TUNIC in the green called Clover.

Another look I tried for you…this print is really more of a terra cotta with an ivory background…making it a good selection for autumn palettes.

This is the PURE JILL SIDE-SLIT ELLIPTICAL TEE...in a print called OFF White Painted Wallflower.

If you want more of a tunic-style, then size up.

JJILL try-on for spring

Here is the monochrome outfit from Saturday’s trend post.  Some believe both pieces together have a pajama look.

I do want to say that I am considering the pants…they are so nice to wear for upcoming heat…feel very cool.

And the top has that same feeling.   Plus I love this blue!   Still thinking though.

The pants are the WEAREVER EASY-CARE WOVEN WIDE-LEG CROPS in Atlantic blue mini dots.

The top WEAREVER SOFT V-NECK TEE…and it is soft.

JJILL try-on for spring

Here is a nice way to conclude this JJILL try-on for spring.

This is the COTTON-GAUZE STRIPED BUTTON FRONT TOP in clear pond white…it also comes in green.

This is a nice casual top for spring and has a polished look to it.

  1. Some lovely pieces here – that beach plum colour is gorgeous! It seems green is also trending heavily these days. PS – Your weight will stabilise in its own time, don’t worry. In the meanwhile, glad to see your feet are feeling better enough to go barefoot (or close)!

  2. You look lovely and your personality always shines through! The blue outfit could be worn with a contrasting topper or long lightweight multi-colored scarf. Both pieces could be worn separately. Think of the cost per wear! I picture the top with creme (among other colors) bottoms and fun sneakers or sandals. The blue bottoms would anchor so many of your lovely colorful tops. Thank you for the style show.

  3. The important thing about your weight is that you are back at it. In the past, I’ve let relatively small weight gains derail me and would throw up my hands in (yet again) defeat. I’m determined not to do that and so are you. You will lose again, and it’s just a lifelong challenge for some of us. That said, you look great, and we are our own worst critics. I loved that denim jacket. In our climate, we do have a small need for long sleeved cotton or linen. We need it for being by the lake, or sitting on a patio on a more cool June evening.

  4. Thanks Linda for the encouragement. It comes back so quickly and for a couple of months my focus was recovery and not weight gain. I think I lived in a dreamworld that it wouldn’t return fast but immobility and not paying attention to diet did me in! I am back on it and determined to get it off!

  5. Thank you for this J.Jill session. I was wondering about the denim jacket? I love a denim jacket, but the still structure doesn’t work for me. This one looks a little softer than a regular jean jacket. Can you let me know if this was your experience?

  6. Though not my style, I love, love the dress and ruana. And actually, I am happy to pay taxes. It’s one of the prices for an organized society. I see my taxes working in so many places. They pay for so much from the military to filling the potholes after winter weather.
Yes, I know my taxes also pay for other things I don’t approve of. Nevertheless, I am happy to contribute to my country, state and local governments.

  7. I love that J.Jill dress, both the purple and the spring green floral. Those are my summer concert-in-the-park and Mexico vibe, no doubt about it. Was there a subtle stripe to the purple? I also love the hoodie you found. ❤️ Super cute, and would be practical over at the coast this summer. Looks like a tan colored embroidery, so I could see pairing that with khaki capris. Thanks for the fashion show to start our week. 🤗

  8. Your fitted tops are so so flattering and give you sophistication! You really can wear any of the popular colors this season; I can’t wear beige or tan but can get away with taupe paired with purples and melon red or navy. You really to bring gladness to my day 🥰
I’m going for the navy stripes!

  9. Thanks so much for the try-on. The lavender dress with the shawl looks absolutely stunning on you. And the other outfits are great. I’m thinking about the blue denim jacket — did you notice that the denim has recycled cotton, but the other colors don’t? I’ve noticed this with JJill, that different colors can be different fabrics. The greens are lovely, but for my coloring, the blues this spring are a standout. Easy for me to say not to worry about the weight, but if you eat healthily, which you do, and get back to your schedule, you’ll be fine. Happy Monday

  10. Recovering from surgery is a full time job. It was right to focus on that. Now that you have recovered and resumed your diet & increased your activity you will get back to where you want to be. You are a strong person. My husband was in bed for over a year and gained weight due to inactivity and indulging in some cravings. It took about a year but he is back to his right weight which is remarkable as his mobility is severely limited. You will get there faster. We are all cheering for you.

  11. Hi Jennifer, This jacket is not like the traditional denim jacket at all. It is softer and I really like the fit. Sorry it took me a while to respond…I had an appointment this morning. I believe you would like the jacket.

  12. Thank you, Linlee. My husband would love your response on taxes and I do believe they help with an organized society. Thank you for putting a good take on this day.

  13. The stripe is the same color…so I would say it is very subtle. And the embroidery is tan…that is a lovely hoodie. So many pieces perfect for Oregon!

  14. I did not notice that Maeve…thanks for pointing it out. The denim is very soft and comfortable.

  15. Thanks Kathie…this community is composed of the best cheerleaders. I appreciate it so much.

  16. The beach plum is a lovely color. I like several of the tops. I don’t like baring my arms as I have vitiligo. I do wear short sleeves in the heat of the summer, but prefer to have as much coverage as possible.

  17. I know it’s a challenge, Becky. But options like a lovely wrap or Ruana are nice ways to cover up.

  18. Pam, I always enjoy your try-on sessions, but especially when you go to my favorite store, JJill. I share your autumn coloring, but thought you looked great in the purple dress and floral ruana. Last year I bought a JJill linen dress in a similar orchid/purple color that is outside my palette, but it was gorgeous and on sale for $12.00. It turned out to be a perfect look for Easter and a baby christening this spring, so I’m glad I bent my color guidelines. I had never worn navy with cream before you demonstrated how flattering it is (so much better than white!) but now that’s in my regular rotation this spring. The collared pullover sweater is a great piece to add polish, so it’s in my cart right now. I also want that embroidered hoodie, even though it is really similar to a Karen Kane top I already bought this spring. Is it white or more of an ivory? The way JJill names colors you never know. I realize your weight is concerning to you, but you look amazing lately. You are back to your usual joyful glow and wearing so many outstanding outfits and cute shoes. I managed to put on twenty pounds since Christmas, but this is the week I’m turning that around. I walked first thing this morning when I got up, and could only go one mile, but plan to go out again this evening. Eventually I will be back to my former three to four miles a day if I stick with it. Thank you for sharing your health and weight journey so openly with us, many of whom I know are struggling along with us.

  19. Thanks so much, Pam – mine is ordered! For anyone else wanting the hoodie, sizes appear to be selling out quickly. Reviews say it is oversized, so I hope the S/T I ordered will fit. I realized as I was ordering that I have a JJill tee from a few years ago that I believe will exactly match the hoodie with identical embroidery, so that will be a great combo. Thanks again for the great try-on session! I look forward to adding these new pieces to my JJill collection, which is about 75% of my wardrobe these days.

  20. Everything looks beautiful on you! I’ll have to get over to Jjill soon to try out a few of these things.

  21. Pam, I am to have to disagree with most of the posts here. I have seen you look good in clothes from other stores, but J Jill, in my opinion, does not flatter you. I thought the purple dress and shawl were pretty awful and so matronly. It wasn’t you – it was the clothes. Many comments mentioned the denim jacket, which I liked also, but it was the only thing. I know we all have different taste in clothes, but those clothes did nothing for you. On to the next store . . .

  22. Cynthia, did you read the post? Reading a post is essential to understanding what is going on here. The try-on sessions are for the readers and not me. I explained my current situation with my weight and sizing. Also, what looks matronly to you may not be to another reader. I will go on to another store because I shop for the readers of the blog. Always read the post.

  23. I disagree! I loved the Beach plum dress with the airy ruana on you! Not matronly at all. I have dresses that are lovely for spring but have zero place to wear them. I liked the denim jacket but in the natural. I liked the hoodie also. I really enjoy your try ons for us. It is great to see clothes on a normal woman that isn’t tall and stick thin. And very young. Thank you, I am trying to lose ten pounds that just hangs out on my middle.

  24. I love your attitude! Do you think someone who wears a petite size can wear the wide leg pants that seem to be everywhere?

  25. I didn’t know some petite ladies who love them, Nina. It has everything to do with fit and personal preference. But I would encourage you to try some on to see what you think…Just remember your top shoulder not be a long length.

  26. While you had the try on for your viewers, I would like to express my opinion. The monochromatic blue bottom and top is the most flattering look for you. Very slimming and you can dress it up or down. You have a good figure. Minimalism is the best for transitions.
