Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers and grandmothers in this audience.

I hope your day is very special.

As they say to the military, I also say to mothers….Thank you for your service.

Happy Mother's Day

In 1985 and 1986,  opportunities for career advancement were soaring for me.

I received an offer to move to Washington D.C. and become a media spokesperson for a national organization.

Mr. B and I had decided to say Yes, but before I accepted, I also received the news that I was pregnant with our precious little girl.

I knew deep down inside that I wanted to be her mother more than anything else.

To accept the other career would mean she was raised by a nanny or a day care, and I did not want that to happen.

So, I said YES to being her mother…and we remained in San Antonio….tightened our belts and Intensified our prayers.

This was the greatest career advancement I ever could have accepted…the benefits were far greater than any professional position offered.

She was eventually joined by a staff of brothers, and later I would receive a new advanced title to ………

Happy Mother's Day

GIGI!!

I have not one regret of turning down the Washington D.C. job…no regrets at all.

The joy my children and grandchildren bring to me surpass it all.  I cannot wait to meet the new little boy who is in the wings for fall….ready to be #7.

Happy Mother's Day

I smile because they smile!

Thank you, Jesus, for intervening on my behalf and promoting me to MOTHER.

Count your joys today and remember that all your sacrifices are worth it….Happy Mother’s Day!

Hopefully… see you tomorrow.

STAY STRONG & KEEP SMILING!

  5. Happy Mother’s Day Pam! I enjoyed the zoom meeting with Brian, Annie, Susan and you yesterday. Very informative! I have been wearing the same shade of lip color for a long time now and was thrilled to hear Annie say she wears one color all the time. Have a wonderful day!

  6. Happy, Happy! to you, Pam, and all the wonderful ladies who gather here. I count my blessings today, in particular, for the special gift my mother was to me, and though today is my first without her, I realize she lives in me, and through my boys. She was a wonderful, engaging and loving person. ❤️

  7. She has worn that color as long as I have known Annie… and I ordered it but lost it! MAC Casablanca. Thanks for joining us!

  9. Happy Mother’s Day Pam and to all the ladies on this blog! It is once again cloudy, damp and chilly here. A good day to talk on the phone to all of my four sons.

  10. Good Sunday Morning Pam,
This is a wonderful picture, love everyone’s smiles. Your two sons and daughter are treasures. I just can tell you have a beautiful family, all have amazing smiles too.
Thank you for telling me your history of your job offer. As you know, you made an outstanding decision.
May you have a blessed and joyful day.

  11. Happy Mother’s Day! I know you made the right decision even though the sacrifices are great. Sometimes we all have to do that. I had to make the decision to become a full time mom when we had twins and had 3 children under the age of 3 to take care of. What a wonderful family you have.

  12. I love this story, Pam! I chose to be a stay-at-home mom for 11 years while my littles were small then worked part time for the remainder of my career. It was a financial sacrifice, but one my husband and I have never regretted making. Now, like you, we are enjoying the blessing of grandchildren.
