2024 Fashion Trends: Tile Prints
Happy May Saturday, all! Welcome to my weekly feature on the 2024 Fashion Trends…today, 2024 Fashion Trends: Tile Prints.
I do this for those who like to be current with their styles and sometimes that might mean closet diving and not necessarily store diving.
Fashion trends do circle around, but it was the professional stylist for Talbot’s recently that pointed this new one out to me….tile prints.
Once I began to do my research, I can confirm that tile prints are a 2024 Fashion Trend and can be found across several retailers
The dress in the opening shot today is the TALBOTS TIE-WAIST MAXI DRESS in a print called elegant medallion.
So, let’s get cozy on this lovely Saturday and see what else we can find for 2024 fashion trends.
2024 FASHION TRENDS – DOES THE TILE MATTER?
Some sites insist that the trend is for mosaic tile prints.
The definition of mosaic is: “decoration on a surface made by setting small pieces of glass, tile, or stone of different colors into another material so as to make pictures or patterns.”
I did discover some websites which identified their prints as mosaic; however, the number of tile prints identified differently cause me to just refer to the trend as tile prints.
Typically the design is similar to what you would see on ceramic tiles.
Above, I am wearing the TALBOTS NANTUCKET LINEN WIDE LEG CROP PANTS in the Oval Medallion Print (which their stylist called a tile print).
The matching top is the TALBOTS LINEN SQUARE NECK SHELL on the Oval Medallion Print.
This dress has been a best seller among the over 50 feeling 40 readers and it is also in the 2024 Fashion Trends: Tile Prints.
This is the TALBOTS EFFORTLESS JERSEY MAXI DRESS in a floral tile print.
This slide show will demonstrate a variety of tile prints from a variety of price points to show you it is in fact in the 2024 fashion trends:
Perhaps you have tile prints already in your closet. I do not because I have not seen any in my best colors.
But, there are some beautiful garments on the market in tile prints for the 2024 fashion trends.

I don’t wear many prints other than stripes and polka dots, but after seeing how great you looked in Talbot’s green medallion print outfit recently, I ordered the linen A-line maxi dress in coral haze, a medallion print dress from JJill in shades of ivory and coral that you might like. I’ll email you a report when it arrives; if it’s too bright it will be returned, but I have high hopes. I had no idea this was officially a trend, but I think it’s a lot more interesting print than the florals that are so popular right now. The tile print seems not as “girly,” but still interesting and feminine so it suits me better. Even though “current” is not one of my adjectives, it’s always fun to know what is “in” and you do such a thorough job of keeping us up to date!
Thanks for starting us off this morning, Lori! Happy Saturday!
Actually lean more towards color-blocked garments however do own one, two piece tile pattern outfit being a midi length skirt with a button long sleeved top in a plissé fabric. (Worn together I add a belt that creates the illusion of a dress and add appropriate shoes. Whereas with a change in footwear and by adding a sleeveless camisole, it is transformed into a layered outfit with a casual wear vibe.)
Early wishing you, A HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY Pamela and do hope your day will be wonderful! -Brenda-
Love your style tips, Brenda! Thank you!
I always called these mosaics, but I think tile print is more accurate. I too see it quite a bit, so I would call it a micro-trend, not as pronounced as stripes or mesh clothing. While I think it’s more “controlled” than a floral, and sometimes quite interesting (one of my adjectives), it often seems to be paired with other prints and skews too boho or feminine for my more sporty style. But I like it in small doses, or for a piece or two. I bought a couple of linen knit tailored tops/tees in turquoise and coral earlier in the year, when they were on deep clearance from last summer. For once, I was ahead of the trend :).
Looks like you are, Linda! One of the reasons I like dressing with style adjectives is they balance each other out so if we don’t wait to be all boho or all classic etc then we don’t have to be. The style adjectives define our own unique style set apart from one word labels.
This is interesting, Pam. I hadn’t thought about it but now that you bring it up I realize I’ve seen a lot of tile prints in addition to all the florals. Like Lorri I don’t wear many prints other than stripes or polka dots or abstract designs. Last year I did buy a pretty tile print top because the colors go with a couple pair of crops & shorts. But every time I put it on my brain says “pajamas”. Maybe I just need to get used to it. I had no idea it was on trend. The tile dresses are pretty and I think they are very attractive on someone else but they are not my style at all. The matching tile pants & tops still look like PJs to me. I probably lean more to classic than current. Happy Saturday.
Lisbon has the most beautiful tiles not only inside but on the outside of homes and on roads and sidewalks. Should I be fortunate enough to return there, the tile museum is my first stop. I can’t say I’ve seen this trend anywhere in my area but summer fashions haven’t really hit yet.
Thanks for sharing today, Kathie.
Now you have me wanting to travel to Lisbon. Thanks Linda.
I was surrounded by tiles in the cafeteria of the V& A Museum yesterday. They cover walls and the ceilings, depicting seasons, months, zodiacs, flowers, fauna, classical characters, and such. Gorgeous! They were painted by women in art school. Although the tile fabrics look great on some women, I am too classic to have them work for me. I am also a stripe and polka dot gal. Thanks for keeping us abreast of what is trending! I would like to see a touch in my home furnishings- a vase, a pillow, a journal cover. Happy Mother’s Day to all.
Thanks Deborah….I always enjoy seeing beautiful tiles in home decor.
I actually purchased a blue tile pop over dress a year ago from Landsend! I didn’t know it was a trend. It is more of a beach cover up to me because of the above the knee length. I did however just now buy a pair of gold Easy Spirit Mar sandals on your link. When I go to the site on your link then sign into my account, I have to search for the product again. Do I lose your link? I needed a strap on the back of my foot but the front looks similar to yours. I got it in gold.
As my style is more understated, I find most tile prints or floral prints to be too busy. There were some lovely pieces in the slide show. I’m sure those of a bolder nature will enjoy & look great in this trend.
So sorry about that Sydney. I will talk to Easy Spirit about it!
Thanks Becky!
