My picks in J.Jill new fall arrivals
Happy Monday, ladies! Today, I have for you my picks in J.Jill new fall arrivals.
We had a surprise cool front (for early September!) and for a few days the weather has been glorious.
Perhaps it was the weather and perhaps it was the explosion of fall colors, but when I walked in to see the J.Jill new fall arrivals recently, I was smiling big time.
They have so many lovely fall colors right now and I have much to show you….also, remember that J.Jill offers petites and plus size options.
Today, we will begin our look at the J.Jill new fall arrivals with tops.
The first picture is the Pure Jill Oversized VNeck Sweater in a deep terra cotta red called pottery.
I love this top for a fall casual look, and I did bring it home with me.
Now, let’s get started with the rest of my picks in J.Jill new fall arrivals.
MY PICKS IN J.JILL NEW FALL ARRIVALS: TOPS
As an autumn palette lady, I fell hard for the colors nutmeg and spiced wine in the J.Jill new fall arrivals.
The Soft Luxe Utility Popover Top is one I would not mind owning more than one color in. It is soft and comfy…plus, I love blouses with collars.
Here is the spiced wine version (my size XL) over the spiced wine AUTHENTIC SLIM-LEG CORDUROY PANTS.
One of the sales associates told me that some women were sizing up and wearing this top as a tunic over black knit pants with leopard accessories.
So, I tried on the larger size (2X) for you to visualize what that might look like.
Here is another tunic option, but this size is XL, so it is already designed to be larger.
This is the Cotton Stand collar tunic in pesto/white…it does come in white and black.
One option for the colder, casual days might be this Textured knit hoodie tunic in barley.
Very comfy and would look great with athletic pants and sneakers.
My daughter sent this picture of my grandson on a Colorado trip this summer.
So, naturally, I had to try on this sweater…..
This is the Dandelion Wishes Sweater.
You can see that it is a lightweight sweater…so if I wore it out, I would select different undergarments!
And this sweater looks lovely underneath a topper……
MY PICKS IN J.JILL NEW FALL ARRIVALS: THIRD PIECES
There are many ways in the J.Jill new fall arrivals to select a third piece to complete a fall outfit.
This is the DOUBLE KNIT BLAZER IN GREEN HEATHER.
It is not too heavy and good for an early fall third piece.
Personally, I think I like the DOUBLE KNIT BLAZER in spiced wine the best….though the green is fun as well.
This is my favorite of the third piece options I tried on, and it is featured online with a striped shirt…super cute.
This is the DOUBLE KNIT SWEATER JACKET in nutmeg….and I am wearing an XL.
I like that it can be worn buttoned or unbuttoned with a top.
J.Jill new fall arrivals have ways to participate in the shorter jacket trend if you are looking for them.
This is a lovely option..right down to the gold buttons.
It is the DIAMOND QUILTED CURVED HEM JACKET in the Rutherford Wash.
MY PICKS IN J.JILL NEW FALL ARRIVALS: THE PANTS CHALLENGE
When I walked into J.Jill at the Alamo Quarry last week, the sales representatives told me that anyone who just tried on the PONTE PANTS would receive $10 off any purchase!
If you bought the pants, you got $20 off. This just must be an in-store promotion because I do not see anything about it online.
But, I did take a pair of the pants into the dressing room and told them to count me in.

For all your shopping, please use the links on my SHOPPING PAGE…thank you, thank you to all who shop this way.
You look great in so many of these JJill styles! Love the green tunic with floral design and the green knit sweater vest too! You look slim in these JJill pants- all of them!
Happy Monday Pam and thanks for the try on at J Jill. I loved the dandelion sweater on you. I was in the store yesterday and agree, nutmeg and spiced wine are great colors for autumns. Unfortunately my store did not have the new ponte pants. I was interested in checking out the deep teal. I also wanted to try on the camel sweater blazer and nutmeg sweater jacket but someone in my size had already plundered the petite section. I tried one size smaller and one size larger in the jacket which assured me that my size would be right. And the blazer in another color. I find J Jill’s sizing to be pretty consistent though occasionally I need to size down in tops. Came home and thought about it overnight and I ordered both this morning from your link. I know I will get a lot of use from both as the colors go with everything. Nutmeg looks really god with my spiced wine cords from last year. I’m thinking about the jeans though I certainly don’t need more jeans.
Hi Kathie…thank you so much for shopping with my links. I think you will love these selections.
Thanks Paulette! I had fun trying on the new arrivals. Fall is in the air…and the store!
The Wearever cowlneck short sleeve sweater and blouse….it’s the best silhouette of them all! I am so happy with the fall selection of colors and textures, thank you Pamela.
Sandra Winfield
You are welcome, Sandra. I so wish for me that they offered the same piece in autumn colors. But it is a great selection for cool palette ladies.
I used to live in JJill ponte pants when working (upon retirement I found no less than 8 pairs of black ones in my closet!). In this try on, I liked the nutmeg jacket and the wine cords the best, though the dandelion sweater was also fun. Can you, or someone in your audience, tell me the difference between ponte and scuba fabric? I’m unfamiliar with the latter, and seeing a lot of it on line.
Good question, Linda. I will research and watch to see if someone answers here. Thanks
Love those fall colors of Nutmeg and Spiced Wine. Those colors look great on you. In winter I love the Ponte pants just have to make sure I get petite. They are dressy looking and so comfortable.
Where are you moving to?
We are moving to Abilene, Texas! Two weeks and counting!
Great try-on session. I’m wondering if the corduroy pants had any give to them, if you recall? You are able to wear pants so well, long and slender in every photo!
The dandelion sweater is my favorite and I like the nutmeg sweater jacket on you too. I can’t wear any fall colors as I need medium to low saturation cool blue tones with my mostly white hair, pale skin and medium blue eyes. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to show us these clothes.
They have many cool colors available…and I showed a couple here.
So sweet,Connie…those pants do have give in them.
I have both the J. Jill ponte pants and others that I got when they did that dressing room try on $20 off. I think it is just an in store promo. Ponte has some lycra but is more a classic knit, but it is a heavier knit usually. Scuba like its namesake is very stretchy and a little spongy. It has a shiny face usually, like a wet suit. I would not use it for pants unless it was athletic wear. I have sewn some tops with scuba knit.
Thank you, Mary! Very helpful.
Hi Pamela!
Just joined your site on Facebook and I’m so glad I did! I would occasionally see you on my Google feed and look at your shopping sessions. I shop at many of the stores that you highlight, including JJill and Chico’s.
You give a very down to earth and positive spin on the clothes you try on and it’s nice to see a real woman of a certain age in the clothes rather than a stick thin model! Thank you for that.
I bought the dandelion wishes sweater and it is gorgeous! I also wanted to point out that the Ponte pants offer of $20 off is available online if you are a Chico’s member for anyone out there who may be a member and hasn’t looked yet.
Thanks so much Pamela and Happy moving! My husband and I have visited San Antonio And Abilene many times And enjoy both cities.
Cristie
Hi Christi,
So glad to have you join in. The Ponte deal is at J. Jill…I haven’t checked to see if Chico’s has one too…they might. Thank you for sharing. I agree with you on the Dandelion sweater! It’s a good one.
Great try on at J Jill; My favorite store. I’m eyeing the nutmeg jacket sweater. I really like how I Jill rolls out new items every month or around that time frame.
Thanks, Nancy. This is an excellent collection and so love that sweater too!
