Chico’s & Me in Abilene

Chico's & Me in Abilene

Happy October, everyone!  YES, I am here to share with you Chico’s & Me in Abilene!

I know, these personal images for Chico’s & Me in Abilene are in bathrooms and that is where the best mirrors are at this time.

We are slowly working our way through boxes upon boxes upon boxes and fighting fatigue, so I am without makeup but have already worn great clothing!

This week I will share with you the early happenings of our move to Abilene, and how I am approaching everything at this time.

Allow me to give kudos to an outfit I purchased right before leaving and to also highlight a few favorites in Chico’s new arrivals.

Let’s get started for Chico’s & Me in Abilene.

CHICO’S & ME IN ABILENE: FIRST REAL OUTING

Chico's & Me in Abilene

We paused opening boxes long enough this past weekend, to go watch our six-year-old grandson play flag football.

I am so glad we were there.  I saw many grandparents attending the game, and introduced myself to a couple.

This blog’s journey with Chico’s & Me goes way back, so it was appropriate that I selected a Chico’s outfit for my first outing in a new place.

The morning was cool and beautiful….and fortunately sunny enough for my sunglasses!

So, I reached for my new Zenergy outfit which is so soft and comfortable….plus in a shade of green that I feel very confident wearing.

Chico’s Primordial Forest is more of an olive green; however, brighter than most olive greens.

I wore the ZENERGY SCUBA CAVIAR BEAD JACKET with the ZENERGY CAVIAR BEAD SCUBA ANKLE PANTS.

In fact, I considered this outfit such a success for Abilene, I am considering this next one from recent releases.

I realize it is mostly black, but I love the creativity and use of neutrals.

This is the ZENERGY LUXE CASHMERE BLEND JACKET in Urban Taupe, with the ZENERGY LUXE CASHMERE BLEND ANKLE PANTS.

I believe both of these looks are elevated athleisurewear and will serve me well in my new community this fall.

Chico’s & Me in Abilene will have me speaking my style adjectives of polished, creative, current, approachable and joyful.

The second look is high on a wish list for me.

CHICO’S & ME IN ABILENE: NEW ARRIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

Chico's & Me in Abilene

I believe there are several highlights from Chico’s New Arrivals that you may want to consider.

Staying in the Zenergy Collection, I like this new ZENERGY QUILTED HOODED JACKET in smokey taupe.

It seems perfect for cool weather…not necessarily cold weather.

I guess I am in a neutral state-of-mind, because I was also attracted this beautiful gray sweater tunic.

It comes in five colors.

This is the CASHMERE TURTLENECK SWEATER TUNIC in dark gray.

I also think these are fun and love the design on the cuffs.

These are the SO SLIMMING GIRLFRIEND SEQUIN CUFF ANKLE JEANS.

My final highlighted top in the new arrivals, has me thinking about the HOLIDAYS.

This just says Christmas casual fun to me; however, they do make the same top in Midnight Violet if you are not into Christmas red.

This is the SEQUIN PLAID PULLOVER SWEATER.

That is it for today, ladies.  I hope you have enjoyed a glimpse of Chico’s & Me in Abilene.

I have so much to share and will be doing so over time.  However, my motto is still…..

Chico's & Me in Abilene

My prayers are with those who have been affected by the hurricane, and I encourage all of you to also pray for those areas hardest hit.

And, I am thinking of all of you and anxious to get back into my blogging routine.

Let me know If you have any questions, and until tomorrow (news roundup day)…..

  1. Thanks so much, Kim…settling in means one day at a time and not letting all of the boxes overwhelm me!

  2. Hi, Pam. Congratulations on a successful move. Just take one day (and one box) at a time. You look beautiful.

  3. Hi Marcia…you are so sweet! I made the older grandsons’ football games last night and actually put on makeup…woo hoo!

  4. 🤸‍♀️🥳💃 Oh, so happy to see your blog this morning! 😁 Very glad, too, that you made it to Abilene and can begin this new chapter. I love fresh starts! The bathroom wallpaper is so cute, and you look pulled together in your outfits. Congrats on the move, and Happy First Week in Abilene! 💗

  5. So glad you got your move over with! It is so hard to be patient with all the boxes waiting to be unpacked. You look very nice in your Chicos outfit, even without makeup. Get some rest!

  6. Rest is very fleeting right now, Denise…but I am trying. My mind just runs rampant with all that needs to be done. Thanks so much.

  7. Good to know you made it there ok. And now the unpacking begins. You look very nice in the first outfit you wore to the soccer game. And you also got to see your grandson play.

  8. Glad your move is over. Now for the unpacking! Thanks for the post. I can’t imagine how you have the energy to keep doing everything!

  9. I so much admire you Pam—despite all the work (and disruption) that it takes to make a complete move, you still have energy to send us awesome content. You selected great Chico pieces. I particularly like the quilted hooded jacket. Definitely on my wish list. Please take care, and praying for those affected by the latest hurricane.

  10. I’m so happy to see you again this week! Your outfit is perfect for grandson’s sports. Comfort first is my motto and style comes second. The athleisure outfits from Chicos are calling my name. Please don’t over do it with unpacking as you have the hardest part done. You are in your new home near your daughter and family. It is great that you have already gotten to two of their games. Please take it one box at a time. It will get done. See you next time.

  11. Happy to see you are still breathing and taking it one box at a time. It’s a huge job, but you look chic in your outfit. Great news that you can take breaks and attend family functions. It’s rejuvenating! It was fun to see your blog this morning! I have missed you.

  12. I’m glad you have arrived safely at your new home. It is certainly easy to be overwhelmed by all there is to do. To use an analogy that my late mother-in-law liked, how do you eat an elephant, one bite at a time. So, you will get to the finish line one step at a time. Taking a break to watch your grandson was a wonderful way to refresh & to meet new people.
Thanks for sharing the red top from Chico’s. It has just the right amount of sparkle for my understated taste.
I’m sending up prayers for all who were affected by Helene & for all the helpers.

  13. Yes…we have now seen all three play and there are lots of grandparents at the games. So glad we are here.

  14. Looks like a great jacket, Elisa. It just breaks my heart to see all that devastation.

  15. Pam – I remember in my last move after my divorce over 18 years ago, I hadn’t opened all the boxes and they were stored in the basement waiting for someone else to open them – lol. When my daughter finally opened them…”Oh Mom! Wait until you see what I’ve found!” For me it was “Oh, I forgot about that/those!!! It was like Christmas!
I’ve always had basements in my homes; certainly makes for great storage for good/bad stuff….Take your time; everything will find a place…don’t overdo it.

  16. Thanks Margi! We are missing a couple of things that we really want to find, so that has motivated us to press on!

  17. I am amazed at seeing a blog today and it is so good to see that you have arrived safely. Just pace yourself re the unpacking and slowly but surely you will get organised. Take care of you and Mr B and most importantly, Tux. Actually, how is Tux handling the move?

  18. So thankful to see that you have safely arrived and are jumping right into your new community! I love your new green bathroom, and your outfit looks perfect for a kids’ sporting event.
I saw those sequined cuff jeans in store this week, and am thinking hard about them. I worry they might be dated very quickly, but I have a washable silk blouse from Quince (thanks to you!) that would look great with them for more casual holiday events. I am finally down five pounds, so if I’m able to lose a little more weight I may try them. What shoes would you pair with them? I don’t like the short ankle pant look, and I am confused about shoes with a focal point at the hem of the jeans. Looking forward to hearing more about your new home and how your style will be adapted to these new circumstances. Continued prayers for you and your extended family as you play this home version of “fruit basket turnover.”

  19. Pam,
So glad you and your furniture and your boxes all arrived to your new home.
We have three families of our family affected by the flooding in SC and NC. The roads, bridges, and landslides are unbelievable, but they are all safe, so thankful for God protecting them.

  20. Glad you made it safely to Abilene. Take care and don’t overdo. Grandchildren’s games are the absolute best. I love Chico’s.

  21. Tux is doing great… thank you for asking. I promise to write more about him on Sunday.

  22. Thank you so much, Lorri. I think ballet flats or pointed toe flats in black would be cute with those jeans. Love the idea of them with Quince silk. Let me know if you decide to get them.

  23. So glad to hear they are safe, Audrey! What a frightening event. Praying for everyone there.

  24. Pam a move is listed as one of the major stresses in life, take care to rest and take time to settle in. Your sweet family will experience it too even though they may not know it. Pray that you can embrace your positive change as a blessing, which it is. You looked so lovely without your make up in the photo…fresh and beaming. I’m going to Chicos for that outfit…hope it’s in petite 1 or 2. 😍
    Sandra Winfield

  25. I hope they have it for you too, Sandra. Blessings from the move have already been pouring in. Thanks so much!
