Today’s News for Women over 50
Happy Wednesday, ladies! Let’s have one last Today’s News for Women over 50 for October!
For anyone new to this feature, please allow me to explain.
On this day, I curate light lifestyle news features together in one location just for women over 50.
From around media world I select information that I believe will be of interest to you in the categories of healthy living, recipes, home, and fashion & beauty.
This is not a place for political news…or so-called political news…just informative and interesting feature writing.
For me, this has become a type of online magazine for women with many writers and contributors to the publication as the writers of the content I select to go here.
Also, I have learned so much for this research and I always love to here from you that the selections were appreciated.
So, with that, let’s get a cozy spot and a warm beverage to enjoy Today’s News.

I have read three articles this morning that are so informative under the health section. I forgot about Self magazine. I used to subscribe to that years ago. I have peeked ahead at your other offerings and can’t wait to peruse. I will save the French vs Italian style for last. It’s my dessert. Thanks for keeping us abreast during your busy week!
You are welcome, Deborah…so glad you found much to enjoy!
Wow very interesting the video on french/Italian style. Gwen Stephani Italian flashy lol.
I can’t just pick one. So glad they informed us how to blend.
❤️ Also a reminder on quality materials silk, cashmere, wool, and velvet etc.
Thanks Debra…it is difficult to pick just one.
I lean more towards French style as I prefer classic timeless pieces & understated accessories, but I do like bright solid colors. I don’t like bold prints or over the top jewelry.
We can pick the good things from both French and Italian styles. It was interesting to see how they can be blended.
Thanks Becky!
I agree with that, Marcia…seems I blend styles and brands every day!
My favorite story today was the article on Julia Hawkins.
Can you imagine 108 and she started competing after 70. I have been inspired by her for a long time.
I think I would like to blend the Fr/It fashion.
Thanks for great news articles today.
Interesting articles, thanks Pamela. I’m definitely more of a French-style gal, and always have been. Seems logical since my ancestors are from France.😊🇨🇦
Thank you Pam for your work gathering these articles. I always find at least one, many Wednesdays a lot more, articles I can apply to my life. Today it was the sweet potatoes. I WILL be making those for Thanksgiving!
Hope you’re settling in and enjoying being near your daughter and her family.
Thank you, Kelley…we are!
Makes sense to me!
So glad you enjoyed! She was very inspiring!
We just returned from a Rhine river cruise with a 3 day extension in Lake Como, Italy. I took lots of pictures of shop windows and what women on the street were wearing. What I saw was lots of neutrals—winter white, beige, black, navy, and grey. The only color featured was burgundy, and that was only one shop. I would be delighted to wear any of the clothes I saw displayed! Monochrome outfits were common. Maybe the colorful prints are more common in summer. Tailored wool coats of varying lengths were everywhere, even though the temps were in the low 70s. European women certainly are well dressed at all hours of the day. I didn’t see any athleisure except on a tourist.
Thanks, Kate! Enjoyed your observations!
The French style suits my Swedish genes more than the Italian style. I love neutrals with navy blue being a favorite. Having trouble typing on your site.
