Small Business Spotlight: Addie’s Boutique
Happy Monday, everyone! Welcome to a new feature…Small Business Spotlight: Addie’s Boutique…online and in-store.
I have done a small business spotlight off and on in various locations, and now plan to introduce you to my new community and the fabulous business owners.
The women I have met in Abilene, TX are vibrant, intelligent, strong, stylish and inspiring…especially those who are entrepreneurs.
I want to begin with one who also sells her garments online…so any of you can shop with Addie’s Boutique.
A Small Business Spotlight helps me to be a very small part of helping someone’s dream come true.
And this small business is tucked into a strip of small businesses all owned by women…I plan to visit them all!
Let’s get started by meeting the fabulous Addie….
SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: ADDIE OF ADDIE’S BOUTIQUE
Addie’s Boutique was one of the first small businesses I walked into after moving here, and I knew immediately that I wanted to feature it in a Small Business Spotlight.
On the website, Addie describes her boutique this way:
Addie’s is a place where women find value in clothes that are well-made and easy to wear, in a sales staff that values their time and money — not wasting either by providing a personal approach to shopping and honest feedback on color, cut, and style.
She has owned this storefront for nine years, and loves working with women to make style effortless and fun.
She brings experience from New York and other places to the women of this community.
I love a well curated boutique with welcoming, warm decor…and that is what you find here with Addie’s.
Of course, service with a smile is a must for a successful small business.
It is the customer service that always cements my loyalty to a boutique.
I love the idea of becoming friends with the owners and even enjoying the other customers.
Boutiques are often known by the pieces they carry that you will not find anywhere else.
Addie has an eye for style and you see it so evident in the collections she has pulled together for her boutique.
Her boutique has tailored, classic pieces…as well as the creative, dramatic ones I enjoy so much which speak to my own style adjectives.
Come to her beautiful dressing rooms with me…..
SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: WHAT I TRIED ON AT ADDIE’S BOUTIQUE
Addie introduced me to a new brand…Shana Apparel.
The top I have on here is the Patch Jacket Eggplant.
The fabric is 80% rayon, and 20% nylon and it feels cool and silky…which means longevity in a warmer climate like Texas.
It can be worn as a jacket or top.
I also liked this top by Shana.
The browns, greys and navy. are definitely in my wheelhouse.
IT is the One Button w/Roses Top Navy.
So comfortable and easy to wear.
I think I like this sweater topper so much because of the mod print that reminds me of the 70s.
And….it would be fun to style.
Here is the news for anyone who wants to shop Addie’s…she just loaded up on new merchandise.
Addie is very discerning as to the artisans and brands she represents to her customers and she can share their stories with anyone who visits.
She also likes to shop Made in America whenever possible.
As you can tell, I am very impressed with Addie’s Boutique and most likely will stop by there often.
For anyone in Abilene next Saturday (November 23) from 10AM to 3PM, Addie’s will be a part of a Makers Market.
There will be live music, artists, artisans, food drink and lots of unique shopping. I will be there and hope to see you there as well.
And remember, everyone else, she does sell online at her website, SHOP ADDIES.
Please remember as you shop for the holidays that support for small businesses is critical to creating jobs and income for your local community.
And you can also join me in investing in someone’s dream to come true.
Leave any thoughts or questions you have about SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: ADDIE’S BOUTIQUE….and I hope to see you tomorrow…until then…
STAY STRONG & KEEP SMILING!

Love the options in your new town! Can you explore a shop for petites like Addies? Your styles and colors are so flattering on you and I’m sure many of us on the blog. Have a great pre-Thanksgiving week
You too, Sandra. I will see what I can find for you in the petite arena!
Lovely boutique … and I loved that you used five adjectives to describe a small business owner! I’m not shopping for myself at the moment, but I looked through the inventory on line and saw some nice pieces.
There are beautiful selections!
What a great find. I live in a small town in Wisconsin where people come to vacation and I shop at many small businesses. There are some great boutiques there where I get some great advice and help. I’m going to try to do most of my Christmas shopping at small businesses like this.
I am sure they love the support, Paula!
Pam – I have FB friend who has a daughter, a senior in high school. She has been making and selling bows, T-shirts, and other things for 2 or 3 years, now. She calls it “Addie’s Bowtique.
So cute! Good for her mom encouraging her!
Lovely store with a great selection of items you don’t see everywhere. I remember the fun fashion show you shared a while back and looked at the website. I like shopping at small woman owned boutiques for both the selection and the personal service. I used to live in a resort town and there were a couple shops like this as well as independent shops in in the neighboring towns. Here I’ve found two–one in our town (Caty’s shop “The Grapevine”) and one in downtown Asheville. You look great in everything you modeled. Don’t be afraid of wearing shorter tops that show off your long legs! If anyone looked at Caty’s show on Saturday, I purchased one of the reversible cashmere wraps (not on shown on the show) and love it. Its very well made, not too voluminous for petites and its at a really good price point. I hope its OK to mention this as we are trying to help after the hurricane.
Of course it is! Thanks Kathie!
Another great find in your new hometown, and I’m excited that we can all shop there with you. You are absolutely glowing in the one-button top and I love those colors. I’m going to check out the on-line offerings to see what else she carries. Always a fan of supporting local, women-owned businesses!
It is a great find! Thanks for supporting small businesses!
