2025 Fashion Trends: Black & White
Happy Saturday, ladies! Welcome to my weekly feature on 2025 Fashion Trends, today with Black & White.
2025 fashion trends are everywhere…especially with spring springing up in all your stories…and I am here to bring you options.
Last week, we looked at BLUE & WHITE in the 2025 fashion trends, and today we look at BLACK & WHITE.
We all know that every spring brings in some black & white styles…it is a classic spring design.
However, as you know, we will have more options this year since it is officially in the 2025 FASHION TRENDS.
So, let’s look over what I found for you. AND, many of these pieces are marked down or part of weekend sales.
I am starting with a subtle, soft way to wear black & white in today’s opening photo.
White House Black Market always shows black & white.
This is the HIGH-RISE RELAXED TROUSER, and you can click through this link to see more.
Now, let’s up the volume and see what I have found for you in the 2025 Fashion Trends.
2025 FASHION TRENDS: BLACK & WHITE: MORE AFFORDABLE BRANDS

This blouse is from JC Penney.
It is the LIZ CLAIBORNE WOMENS LONG SLEEVE REGULAR FIT BUTTON DOWN SHIRT in white black.
Not only is black & white in the 2025 fashion trends, so are polka dots.

2025 FASHION TRENDS: BLACK & WHITE: CHICO’S AND TALBOTS
I did not want to forget your two favorite brands…at least for this blog community.
Let’s start with Chico’s…always a participate in the 2025 fashion trends.
You can also do the trends in accessories.
Like this FLORAL BORDER OBLONG SCARF with a touch of blush pink.
When researching black & white in the 2025 fashion trends, I saw several pieces with pink (bright and blush) added to a print.
You could even add a scarf or white jewelry to a dress like this black one.
This is the CHICO’S ELBOW SLEEVED MAXI DRESS in black…it also comes in a new pink.
If I wore black & white, I would be ordering this top…it looks lovely.
It is the CHICO’S IKAT PIMA 3/4 SLEEVE EVERYDAY TEE.
For a more casual style, you might like the ZENERGY UPF STRIPE LONG SLEEVE TOP.
For spring & summer a lovely kimono is always a great way to participate in a trend.
This is the CHICO’S FLORAL PRINT OPEN FRONT KIMONO.
And, note that Chico’s also just added more blue & white in their new collection.
Since black & white is typically associated with classic style, Talbots always seems to have it in their spring collection.
And since it is in the 2025 fashion trends, you see a few different designs….like this NON IRON POPOVER IN BICOLOR POPPY.
Or you might like the TALBOTS NON IRON POPOVER in LUXURIANT LEOPARD with just a hint of brown with the black & white.
Here is a cute casual option with a black foundation and white stripes on top.
This is the TALBOTS RIBBED SCOOP NECK TEE.
These sneakers are so cute that I just had to include them.
Check out the TALBOTS GOLA TYPHOON SNEAKERS.
I hope you enjoyed looking over a few of the black & white offerings in the 2025 fashion trends.
There is more to see.

What a beautiful choice for those ladies who wear black and white. I don’t, but I still love admiring it. I have a boho chartreuse top very much like the one pictured that jJill did a few years back. That is my nod to the hippie in me. Great choices here.
Good morning, Deborah. I also have a top like that done by Talbots a few years back in navy. It’s a pretty design!
Years ago my closet was mostly black & white and nearly all from Chico’s. It was easy and I could always find the styles I liked in black and/or white. I had been rated an autumn but really couldn’t find the styles I favored or the clothes I needed for work in autumn shades. After I stopped coloring my hair I saw that black & white wasn’t doing me any favors so I embraced my autumn palette and the only black & white items I retained were yoga clothes. Most of the styles I like are usually offered in black & white or blue & white, combinations I wish flattered me. The only upshot is I can fast forward through Chico’s or Talbot’s websites. LOL.
Yes…today is for all those cool classics who love and wear black & white. Happy Saturday!
Black and white used to be my favorite color combo when I thought I was a winter. It’s so interesting, classic, chic and elegant, and so … well, just easy. When I was working, it was effortless. So often the white in particular didn’t look good on me, but I had no idea why. Now I realize it isn’t rich enough, and the contrast is just too much. I still wear black, mostly on the bottom, but an ivory and black Breton stripe shirt happily lives in my closet, as do black tank tops, a black cardigan, an “off black” denim jacket, and some Chicos Travelers pieces that make an easy, more formal look for cruises (if they did more navy, I’d make the switch, and use black accessories). I tried to get rid of all the black, but I started sneaking black pants back into my wardrobe, and I realize I can just wear my better colors near my face, especially as a blue autumn. It’s funny how black can be “in” for spring … it’s always in, and one of the reasons it keeps creeping back into my wardrobe. I enjoyed looking at all these lovely options.
I am about to go out in my black jeans with brown and camel on top! I still love to wear black pants and shoes.
Thanks Linda.
I inherited my mother’s pure white hair and I am a winter and always will be. Thus black and white and blue and white are mainstays in my wardrobe. It is always easy to get basics, stripes and polka dots but sometimes hard to get something creative. I like the cute sleeve on the short sleeve cardigan and the Kimono but alas neither are available in petite or easily altered. The Chico popover does so may find its way into my closet.
Thanks for sharing, Linda…I bet your pure white hair is gorgeous.
My white hair is still a bit blonde stripy but I find black only works on the bottom with any shade of blue or blush on top. I’m a cool summer and white doesn’t work unless it is chalky off white grey next to my face. I do love my black wash trousers jeans from Chicos. They are so comfortable!
I wear black and white in limited styles, but I really like the combination. Beautiful outfits today.
As a cool palette lady, black & white are staples in my wardrobe. The white blouse with the black trim from JCP is reminiscent of one I had many years ago, so I love it. I received a Land’s End catalog yesterday, & many of the black & white items caught my eye. Looking forward to doing some spring shopping soon.
As several others mentioned, black and white/ivory were the backbone of my work wardrobe, in spite of my autumn coloring. My beloved mentor convinced me that any item of clothing looks richer and higher quality in black than any other color, and it was easy to shop the sale racks at Dillard’s and Nordstrom for separates that all worked together within a “business formal” dress code. While I miss the ease and convenience of that formula, these days I try to wear my best colors near my face and restrict black to pants and skirts. I make a few exceptions for very special pieces, like the black sweater with the sequined sleeves you showed us from Chicos’s during the holidays. I had to have that one for evening wear, and I get compliments every time I wear it, which I believe are based on how unique it is, rather than how it looks on me.
Today’s selections have me wishing I could wear this classic color combo more easily. I especially love the polka dot blouse with the ruffled 3/4 length sleeves, and I hope to purchase the scarf from Chico’s once I have a chance to check out the colors and fabric in person. If that darker stripe is more maroon than magenta/hot pink, it’s coming home with me! Blush is not one of my best colors, but I love it and try to wear it in combination with my more flattering colors. This piece could be a workhorse during that in-between season where we want to wear spring items but the weather says we’re not quite there yet.
