  1. Thanks for sharing the article on decorating outdoor spaces! I’ve been looking for ideas, as I plan to cover my backyard entertainment area and decorate it later this year. So many good ideas in this piece. I can’t wait to see the video with Trinny, but I’m saving it to enjoy over lunch.

  2. So happy to provide ideas…I think I have to wait on my back patio ideas for awhile…these spring winds have been consistent and intense. Enjoy the video at lunch!

  3. Just a heads up on Carolina Jessamine. It looked like a good candidate for my poor yard. Since I have 2 dogs I looked up its toxicity in a couple of reliable sources. Its poisonous to people, dogs, livestock and honeybees. Children who mistake it for honeysuckle have been poisoned. So not good option for people with children or pets. I’m going to adapt that shrimp recipe Friday night. I love the idea of doing it all in the oven but I will probably use grape tomatoes rather than canned and make fresh pasta. I fast forwarded Trinny’s video when I got bored with the bag segment. So I guess I’m in the boring camp. I liked a lot of the advice Trinny gave on the show but her personal style is too fashion forward to appeal to me.

  4. Wow! This is such important information on the plants Kathie! Thank you so much…I was about to plant some!

  5. Well, having only a few minutes this morning, I went straight to Trinny. The other articles look interesting, as always, but will have to wait. I really enjoyed it. As a dark autumn, I am encouraged to wear a variety of colors and high contrast. As a sociable introvert, I need my alone time to regenerate. Sometimes. I just don’t want to dress in the ‘best’ dark autumn way. I want to dress in a more quiet way. She, of course, is a ‘noisy’ dresser, and I get a kick out of her extensive wardrobe rooms as well as her outfits that I would never wear. I was fascinated by this video because it was a challenge to her. I enjoyed her dissecting what the style genre was and trying on a variety of pieces to see what she liked and what worked. We all have a closet of possibilities, and it can be fun to play. What I was really in awe of was her collection of fabulous coats and the fact that despite her colorful style, she made these outfits work for her Trinny style. I was also impressed that although few people here have that expensive, extensive wardrobe, she does have lots of older pieces. So, sustainability? What I was left wondering about: who picks up the clothes that she throws?

  6. I always look forward to your Wednesday posts, and I enjoy all the categories. The French Country Home kitchen is lovely, the spring veggie egg casserole is a must, and gosh, feather skirts in Milan! Not likely to “fly” in Denver but fun to see. Thanks for finding interesting articles every week.

  7. I always enjoy the news on Wednesdays. Today, French Country Home, sugar in our diet and Trinny, what a great combination. Thanks

  8. I loved the salad recipes. So good to use all those spring & summer fruits. I’m not a big fan of Trinny. I have a basic understanding of quiet luxury but her take on it to be a bit messy. The oversized looks & pants & skirts dragging the floor don’t quite say luxury, quiet or otherwise to me.

  9. I would agree with you, Becky on the Trinny video. I am also going to try the salad recipes…I know Tanji from San Antonio and she does good work.

  10. I’m planning to let my top hair in my pixie grow a little longer to give me more choices. I enjoyed that hair article. Good to know about plants that are poisonous to pets and people. I checked every plant, bush and tree in my yard as my little Trixy likes to chew on toys, grass almost anything! I’m planning on putting a small pot or planter on the patio with plan old grass in it for her to get her salad greens. Our small lawn is artificial turf. We live in the high desert of Colorado. Our windy humidity is often in the single digits! Trinny did quite luxury well. The lighter grey outfit looked really well on her. It was all way too dressy for Colorado. I live in small rural town not Denver but even Denver would be much more casual. I can’t imagine throwing those beautiful coats on the floor! The Milan feathers over pants was way out here too. I showed my husband and he curled his lip. Not so much. I guess I will just stick to my jeans and sweater today, oh and comfortable sneakers. Another chilly windy day in the Rockies!

  11. Hi, Pam. I like the quiet luxury look with a splash of color thrown in once in a while. Thanks for a great combination of articles. Those spring salads look fabulous.
