2025 Fashion Trends: Silk Scarves

2025 fashion trends

Happy Saturday, ladies…so sorry, to be a little late today.  But, here is the Saturday 2025 Fashion Trends: Silk Scarves.

Yes…silk scarves are in the 2025 Fashion Trends!  And while some can be very pricey, there are a few places to locate a deal.

I met a friend for lunch this week and she was wearing a simple knit, tee dress with a small, colorful neck scarf tied at the top and it looked fabulous.

I am so glad they are back…..

The scarf in the opening picture is from one of the websites where you can find an interesting mix of scarves.

Just go to ETSY SILK SCARVES to see what they have.

Now, let’s look at some of the other brands…beginning with what is left in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale   .

  1. As a scarf wearer like you, I’m always on the lookout for another scarf. I too have started wearing, and looking for shorter scarves to tie around my neck because most of my scarves are long rectangles that I loop and weave about. I know others have mentioned “ The Vivienne Files” blog before where she often pulls the colors out of a scarf to develop a wardrobe and usually incorporates a story to go along with the clothing. She’s posted numerous travel wardrobes with different color combinations and scarves. I’m personally on the lookout for a winter-colored animal print scarf to, as you said, meet both trends. Most animal print scarves are like the one you’ve shown, a brown-colored scarf, and I don’t wear brown, especially close to my face.

  2. Hi Celia! You will see more brown this year because it is a trend color, but what is great about scarves is that there is a treasure trove of other colors too.

  3. I won’t be wearing scarves, at least not often. They are lovely and I have spent way too much money on scarves I simply don’t wear. I’ve given most of my good ones to my scarf loving friends and donated the so-so one. My husband has bought me a lot of artist made statement jewelry that fits my style adjectives and I prefer wearing a piece of that.

After seeing Pam model the Talbot’s Chatham pants I decided to take a trip to another town to try on some items and I’m glad I did. The pants are amazing, true to size and I purchased a pair in Toasted Coconut as I’ve been hunting for tan pants.

I tried on the Leopard print cardi but its cut slim through the bust so the my regular size fit gaped and the next size was too large overall. I purchased the Leopard print blouse instead. Its soft with a lovely drape. Short sleeves work now and come winter will work under blazers and cardis.

The denim popover top in light ecru was not available in petite. I tried on a regular medium and it was very large. Also it read white rather than ecru against my color wallet. Its nice and I recommend sizing down if you are interested.

I can recommend the Elbow Sleeve Bateau Neck Tee – Falling Leopard, in ivory with brown accents. Sizing is a bit roomy and I purchased the small. Its a heavier weight knit with slight sheen so dressier than a tee.

Finally tried the Air-Knit tops. Pam is right about the fabric. I bought the boxy tee in Toffee Brown. Feels great and looks sharp. Both small and medium petite fit about the same. With the amazing sale, plus my birthday discount I came away with some great pieces for now & fall. It was so nice to shop in the store as its something I’ve missed for nearly a year. Sorry that this is long but as someone who has to shop online now I find try-on posts useful.

  4. Wow…Kathie…thanks for the shopping update! I am certain that will help many! Enjoy your birthday present!
To support the blog, I do encourage anyone shopping today to use my link for Talbots…you can find it at the top of the page under shopping links.

  5. Thank you, Kathie. I’ve been eyeing that falling leopard top! I’ve kept a lot of my scarves, but I’m just not wearing them. They feel fussy for my new life, and I find myself stacking bracelets these days as my main accessories (and I do mean stacking … sometimes even 10 bracelets), or wearing an enormous woven cuff and a big turquoise ring. With all that going on, I’ve been keeping my neckline minimal. That can change, and like you once pointed out, scarves take up little room to keep around. Still, though, if they don’t get worn this year (5 years out from retirement), it’s time to let them go. It’s not fair to judge them during such warm weather … this fall/winter will be the tell.

  6. These scarves are beautiful. I like them for a pop of color. I wear a lot of neutrals so scarves are a nice accessory for me. Long or short.

  7. I agree that scarves are more for fall and winter…but like everything else…the good ones will go and are going…quickly…so I made sure to share this now.

  8. I literally have an entire drawer of scarves but like several others I rarely wear them. I’ve been selectively sending some to consignment where I’ve been told scarves are not big sellers. I did notice some interesting scarves at this store so if you’re wanting to try the trend without a big investment you might check out consignment stores.
Kathie you and I would make great Talbots shopping buddies! I was at Talbots yesterday and brought home a bag full and am shopping the other Talbots, J Jill , J Crew and Dillard’s today. The sales right now are amazing and since I am down two sizes I’m basically buying a new wardrobe. I have noticed that prices at Talbots for the newest line have gone up so I’ll be waiting for a flash sale to purchase fall items.

  9. I love scarves. Always have, even as a little girl. I have many, and I wear them frequently except in the very hottest weather. Those you showed are lovely.

  10. Such beautiful scarves, Pamela. I am always looking on Etsy at scarves and kimonos, yet never buying them there. I have so many scarves and like the idea of wearing them with simple tops, yet I mostly wear them from late August to mid-June with outerwear or slouchy in-home loungewear. Like LindaLM, I seem to revert to unusual jewelry. I should donate more of them, as I did last spring. I will organize for fall and see what I don’t reach for. That was a wonderful try on report from Kathie! I have the Chatham pant in toasted coconut, too. I am hoping to see some plaids. My birthday month is September. Fingers crossed. I will revisit the air knit. When I have seen it on the rack, I haven’t like the feel of the texture. After Kathie’s review, I realize that I should try it on. My favorite scarf posted today is the equestrian.

  11. Earlier this year, I watched the Spring Baking Championship on one of the cooking channels. One of the judges wore a different scarf on each show. She wore them almost as a wrap around her shoulders, & they were beautiful. Most of my current scarves are long rectangles, so I have become bored with wearing the same way all the time. I have been toying with the idea of buying a scarf or two that are square & learning some interesting ways to tie them.

  12. I’ve found that when I wear a scarf, I seem to get it more in my way of what I’m doing. I have a few very nice ones but almost never wear them. The ones I do wear are wool and are light weight and warm for wearing outside in very cold weather over my coats. I think a cashmere or wool and cashmere blend would fit that need as it can get very blustery here sometimes in the mountains for our walks.

  13. So excited to see Kathie’s shopping report! I can only imagine how much she enjoyed finding so many things that worked, and having that birthday discount makes it even better. I have always loved scarves, and bought quite a few in silk while I was still in a “business formal” office. These days I usually wear the silk ones tied onto a purse handle, if at all. I love wearing bandana scarves as headbands, especially since I am way overdue for a haircut and my bangs are too long to wear loose. I have collected a lot of thin, soft cotton bandanas in all my best colors, mostly from Madewell and a few knockoffs from Target that match most of my summer outfits, so that’s something I’m doing a lot lately. Glad to hear I can now blame this on a trend instead of my procrastination in getting a haircut! I really liked the Anthropologie options you shared, and will be watching for a sale on those. I’m just now moving my accessories (scarves and belts) over from the old house, after finally figuring out where they fit in the new closet. I like storing scarves on the hangers meant to hold five pair of pants, with five horizontal padded bars that unlatch at the end and swing out. My rule for regular scarves (not the bulky ones worn as outerwear in winter) is that they all have to fit on two of these hangers, so I’ve got some decisions to make. I still feel like I am unsure of how to dress myself in retirement, and don’t want to get rid of items I love that will actually be worn, but I know I still have way too many pieces in all categories. I’m starting a new volunteer position in our neighborhood library soon, and I’m not sure what will be appropriate there. My other volunteer work gets me dirty (stocking a food pantry and working in the church kitchen preparing a meal for homeless guests once a week) so it’s super casual, but I feel like elevated casual may be better for the library. This is a great chance to meet more people in my new neighborhood, so of course I want to make the best possible first impression. I get such good ideas from Pam and all of you – thanks for sharing what you’re wearing and buying in the comments so generously!
