You as well, Paulette! Glad I provided something helpful to you.
It is always fun to read about European fashion when in Europe. As in the US, there is nothing like European fashion, in fact, there are many different situations. For instance, I would not recommend capris (no more than flip-flops or cargo shorts) in Paris, but in the South they are much more “normal”. White sneakers, on the other hand, seem to be everywhere. And there are so many other signs which say “foreign to this place” to small thieves (for instance, how fast you are walking in a familiar or not familiar environment). Thank you for this interesting selection of topics!
Love hearing your perspective, Catherine. Thank you for sharing on this.
I agree, Catherine. I see white sneakers everywhere in Europe. I guess the difference is that they do not appear like our orthopedic style, more low cut and fashionable. I would never wear shorts in Europe, or a revealing top. I have been sleeveless but always with a light sweater or scarf to cover up if need be. And always colors like black, navy, and gray. I have been asked for directions from native speakers many times, and sometimes been able to give them! It’s important to respect the people of other countries when you are in theirs. And never shout trying to make yourself understood-loud does not equal comprehension!
It’s also important to note that this is the way I customarily dress, no loud prints or dangly jewelry to get caught up in things. So no big issue for me.
Thank you for sharing, Susan!
Funny about copying our grandparents fashion, and we are those grandparents! I was interested in the healthy casserole recipes…since I cook for one, I always have frozen leftovers to have for quick meals which has been great when I don’t have time to cook. Some of these look like keepers! So many cute straw bags…it has me anxious for warmer weather when these will be appropriate! I stopped by TJ Maxx yesterday on a whim and saw a gorgeous Patricia Nash handbag, solid cordovan color with tooled flowers, very understated. The bonus is that it is a little larger than a typical crossbody, and it came home with me. The price was amazing and there are no flaws. The lady who unlocked it said she wished she had noticed it first! I’ll have to stop back when they put straw bags out!
Hi Karen, I found my new Patricia Nash at Marshall’s and I have received so many compliments on it. It is also a combination of blues and red florals. The price was also just right. I love my Patricia Nash bags!
I hope you find a casserole recipe you like.
