Fall outfit idea for the children’s museum
Happy Thursday! Today, I am sharing a fall outfit idea I wore last weekend to the children’s museum.
It was actually a celebration birthday party for two of my grandchildren.
I considered wearing a hazmat suit (just a joke) because it was with all of the same people at the last party where I caught a nasty virus.
What is sad, is that everyone I spoke with also caught the virus at the last party…and one mom joined me in the Emergency Room.
But, yet, we all showed up at the second party for the love of the kids!
FALL OUTFIT IDEA: THE CLOTHES
This is another fall outfit idea for those who live in warmer climates.
Last year, I picked up this blouse and matching tank at Chico’s on clearance.
I have worn the blouse several ways since purchasing it….sometimes with a solid tank in olive or brown.
And, vice versa, I have worn the printed tank with solid blazers and cardigans…the two items have provided many a different fall outfit idea.
The blouse is sheer, but with a tank underneath is a nice topper….especially during fall in a warmer area.
The olive colors look great with my gold pieces of jewelry and I styled the top over my favorite INC Skinny Jeans.
While there is nothing like this currently online, here are some lovely blouses and tanks at Chico’s:
Now, about Minnie Mouse. I like to look at consignment/resale shops to find fun pieces for the kids and use those as my gift bag.
This was a little suitcase for our 2-year-old granddaughter and I put several smaller gifts inside.
When her sister turned 6, I put smaller gifts in a ballet bag! So much more fun that a paper gift bag.
FALL OUTFIT IDEA: THE EVENT
The party was in a charming small town called New Braunfels at the McKenna Children’s Museum.
I love parties that also promote learning and this museum is so much fun for a pre-school birthday!
There were two themes at the party…for my granddaughter who loves the Wheels on the Bus song most and for my 4-year-old grandson, Star Wars.
But, what I really wanted to do myself………
Was grab and easel and start painting!! Looks like so much fun.
There was lots of laughter….and so far….I am virus free!

What a fun party! This is such a great idea about putting a gift inside a gift! My grandsons love getting those Heat Holders socks (no joke!) for Christmas, and since they are all grown, I give them cash gifts now. This year their cash is going to be tucked into their socks! Thank you for the idea!
What a fun surprise for them! Happy to inspire new fun. Thanks Karen!
Hello Pam! A great autumn so far especially the weather (cool sunny days). I have so much more energy as the weather loses its humid-spell and temperatures fall. I’m back to walking 2-4 miles per day, exercising and just doing abd being a gram. Like you I had a little hospital visit recently -AFIB- first one in 7 years since my last one. No fun. But they worked on me for a couple hours / back to normal (sinus is what it’s called ?)Curiously, it has nothing to do with our sinuses.
I love your gift ideas and often looking for unique ways to wrap. Thank you!
I am so glad you are ok, Paulette! Take care…
As a former teacher and an amateur artist, I applaud the educational party venue! Every year I buy my grandchildren new back to school backpacks and stuff them with goodies! It reminds me of stocking stuffers. I am glad that you are staying healthy!
Love your gift ideas!
Question about your INC jeans. They are listed as skinny jeans, yet they don’t look so fitted on you, which I like. Can you help with your opinion?
Love your backpack idea, Deborah. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Anne, I have owned these jeans for several years, so they probably have some “give” in them. I have been thinking about getting a new pair. If I do, I will compare them for you. From beginning to now, I have enjoyed the way they fit me. I hope that helps some.
You look great, and hopefully having the virus gave you all immunity! Looks like a great time and a little easier on the moms to host. Here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the internet is often too sporty to read your posts, but today is a “good day.” I look forward to catching up when I get back!
Hope you are having a wonderful time!!
Looks like a fun time, and I love your gifts within a gift which I will adopt. I have not done the Amazon shopping this week, but did receive my Talbot’s goodies yesterday and LOVE the new cardigan. I bought it in that beautiful Tudor blue color which is gorgeous, paired to the blue multi-colored plaid shirt their ads had featured with it – super cute!! Also snagged two new long sleeve striped tees, so now I am fall ready! If anyone is shopping via your Talbot’s link, today they have 50% off if you buy two items. 😉
Thanks so much for shopping with my links Connie and for promoting the Talbot’s sale! It is much appreciated and I agree that the tudor blue is lovely!
The McKenna’s Children’s Museum sounds like a fun place that even Grandmas would enjoy for sure. As to wrapping of gifts; a Xmas tradition of mine was to choose a themed paper for each child (Santa/Penguin/Polar Bear etc.) that they could identify as theirs and have continued to do so, though now all are in their teens (and of course know how to read). Also for the stockings that are left at our place from Santa; each gift is wrapped in tissue paper. As to what you are wearing, all appears to be perfect for your climate and do like the fit of the INC jeans on you. -Brenda-
P.S.: Glad you overcame the virus. I contracted Covid or one of its variants back in early September and still have a few mild symptoms of it but thankfully have my energy back!
I’m so glad to live in a world where we have Octobers, books and perfume!!! Shoes and handbags!!! Of course the Lord Jesus!!!! His grace!!! We are so blessed!!!!
Amen! We are blessed!
