Last summer, Leigh Ann bought this same short in a different color floral print, and she loved it so much she wore it often…all summer long.

So, the short had to be in her Talbots spring sale picks.

This is the Relaxed Chino Shorts in a pattern called whimsical garden and she is wearing a size 8P.

This was my favorite dress/skirt in the Talbots Spring Sale picks.  I can just see it with little black ballet flats.

I loved the outfit on Leigh Ann.

This is the Ribbed Johnny Collar Sweater in a size PM.  The print is black & white and called Lattice Jacquard.

She is wearing this with the Sweater Skirt in the Lattice Jacquard,  and a size PS.

And, if you like this print, there are also Talbots Hampshire Ankle Pants in Lattice Jacquard and petite sizes.

Now, let’s move on to my Talbots spring sale picks.

I like this blouse a lot, but it is sheer and I wore the wrong undergarment…which was blue!

This is the Ruffle Trim Top in Falling Floral, and I am wearing a Misses XL.

It is a very pretty top.  For all of my photos, I kept on my Talbots pull-on jeggings because of the foot issue.  Thank you for your patience!

I adore this jacket and wish it came in other colors…warm ones preferably.

This is the Short Trench Coat in pink geranium.   It is a happy color!

I paired it with the Effortless Jersey Raglan Tee in the white/pink stripe.

If we had a cooler spring, this jacket may have come home with me…the design is so flattering!

Makes me look smaller than I am..a magic blazer!

This is the Tweed Blazer in sapphire multi plaid, and paired with the indigo blue Lace Trim Knit Shell.

I was in an XL in the shell and also believed I could have easily sized down to a large.

Here is definitely a spring sale pick from T by Talbots.

You cannot see the black on the sides very well, but they add a slimming touch to this top.

This is the UPF 50+ Pique Polo.

I like that it is 100% cotton and has the half-zip neckline.  I think today you can get this one for $47…almost half the original price.

Finally, I wanted you to see how cute this short trench looks with the message tee.

  1. I always enjoy your trips with Leigh Ann. You both found some great pieces this trip! I noticed the chevron striped cream and tan bow blouse in the dressing room that was featured in your “sand” post recently. Did you try that on, and if so, how did it work for you? I just found the same denim shirt Leigh Ann modeled on eBay, new with tags so it’s on the way. I feel like a denim shirt falls in the “essential” category (like the mythical White Button Down Shirt that so few of us can actually wear.) I have had several and not worn them much except for yard chores, but I hope this one is in regular rotation. I’d love to know how you and other readers style theirs. I am thinking of mine as a swimsuit coverup if it’s long enough, but I would like to wear it some other ways. Spring clothes are my least favorite because of my autumn color preferences, but you both look fantastic in your choices. With our temperatures soaring into the 90’s this week, these outfit ideas couldn’t be more timely. As always, thanks for braving the stores on our behalf. It makes me so happy every time I see a photo of you wearing two shoes, as it represents so many answered prayers for you and your continued healing.

  2. Hi Lorri, I did not like the striped top on me and it is difficult to button with tiny buttons at the back. You would need help to wear it. Thanks for asking.

  3. Good morning. Such a beautiful array of color for those of you who can wear it. There is a double breasted military jacket on line in sand. Interesting thought. The style of the pink ‘trench’ looked great on you, Pam. Thank you both for the style show. It was much fun to see today, especially for us greeting a day in the 20s. Spring brings hope!

  4. I really like Talbots denim, and recently bought last year’s slim ankle jean at the Red Hangar sale. I too loved that dress at the end. I’m not generally a print lover, but Talbots always has wonderful stripes for spring.

  5. They had so many stripes done in different ways. You are right that they do stripes really well.

  6. I do love Talbots clothes, but didn’t see anything in this spring selection that catches my eye. I love my fall and winter wardrobe so it is difficult for me to make the spring transition to light colors. Thanks for the introduction though.

  7. Good Morning, and thanks for the great Talbot’s shopping. Their catalog and the recent J.Jill are dog-eared to death at this point. Now I just need to prioritize! I am in love with the Kate cardigan (not shown today, but you covered a little while back) but the reviews are so negative. 😕 The pink jacket, 💗 I love but don’t technically need as much as I do replacement white and navy cardies. In answer to Lorri’s question, my favorite ways to style a denim shirt: I have a sleeveless button-down I love wearing with khaki capris and a white t-shirt weight cami so I can leave the top 3 buttons undone, for a casual spring and summer look. Great for Farmer’s Market or outdoor concerts here in southern Oregon. My long sleeved denim shirt is more utilitarian, and so I wear it to pick berries early in the day while it’s still chilly out, and to protect my arms from brambles. Worn with faded black jeans and black garden boots with multicolor polka dots.

  8. the pink trench!!!! going shopping. the rest of the collection not so much, not my style….thanks always for the dressing room fashion show……

  9. The short trench coat would look much better in a neutral. The Barbie pink isn’t my color. The denim shirt looks like a winner! I have a chambray shirt that I grab to cover everything on a slightly chilly morning or evening. I can see using that denim shirt in a similar way. I too loved that blue print dress that Leigh Ann grabbed at the end. Very cute and great for summer. Great choices today! You did a good job!

  10. Thank you for the try on. Like you I wish the short trench came in an autumn color. Spring is always a challenging season for autumn colors. Leigh Ann’s shorts are darling as is that “falling floral” top you are modeling. Both Talbot’s and Chico’s have some lovely floral pieces this year that are not a repeating all-over prints. They look so fresh I’m almost tempted. The minimalist in me reminds me of the floral pieces I have purchased worn only once.

  11. Thanks for the Talbot’s preview. I must go shopping, I am in need of a few items for spring and summer. Thank you to Leigh and you for the modeling.

  12. Hi Pamela,
Pink jacket with Aperitivo tee – sold! I like how you paired them. Lattice jaquard top and skirt – sold! It will be fun to wear together or separately. Pamela Lutrell, Stylist to the Stars (we’re all stars, aren’t we?). 😊❤
    Take care and thank you.
    Sandra

  13. I would not go with the ruffled falling floral top. Between the print, the puffy sleeves and the curved hem I think it’s got too much going on.

I love the pink jacket. It’s got good lines, not a lot of embellishment. It looks nice with the striped t-shirt, and would do nicely with other tops. The neck is begging for a cotton scarf to warm you up while standing on the sidelines of a Grandchild’s soccer game.

In fact, it reminds me that I have a pink twill jacket, not quite that bright, in my closet and I should get it out!
