2024 Fashion Trends: Geometric

2024 Fashion Trends

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This is our second post this week about 2024 Fashion Trends to keep you informed of what you see in stores and online.

Today, we are looking at 2024 Fashion Trends: Geometric Prints.

On Thursday, we also looked at 2024 Fashion Trends: Jewelry…it is fun to look at the trends even if it is not a trend for us.

I may show you more than one post in a week since we are entering fall fashion in the fast lane.

So, let’s begin with today’s 2024 Fashion Trends: Geometric Prints.

2024 FASHION TRENDS: GEOMETRIC PRINTS

2024 Fashion Trends

Let’s begin with a definition of what geometric prints are:

An AI overview of Geometric Prints:

Geometric prints are characterized by repeating shapes, lines, and symbols that are often arranged in a symmetrical or interlocking pattern. The shapes can be simple, like squares or triangles, or more complex, like houndstooth or cuboids. The repetition can be regular and obvious, like squares on a grid, or more irregular and asymmetrical, creating a more abstract look. Geometric prints can also include contrast and block colors.

I found them in many of our favorite retailers and at many price points.

The first cardigan is at Chico’s and is the TRAVELERS COLLECTION BLOCKED KIMONO CARDIGAN.

The second top is from JC Penney’s and is the LIZ CLAIBORNE WOMENS LONG SLEEVE REGULAR FIT BUTTON DOWN SHIRT in purple geo.

And today’s slideshow features other options of the 2024 Fashion Trends: Geometric Prints:

All trends are not for all women and I know some of you will not be into this one…and that is ok.

But, there are some others of you drawn to geometric prints…so know I did this for you.

In my fifties, I was drawn to them (I had one top in black and brown geometric designs and I loved it)….but now I am not so much…I love researching for those who are.

  1. I love geometrical! Far more flattering to me than big or small floral prints, which seem to overwhelm me-and I’m not petite! Thanks for this look at my favorite prints.

  2. I have a new favorite summer blouse in a kind of trefoil design (white) against navy blue background. The trefoils are about the size of a dime, and I find the print easy on the eye.
It’s Saturday, so I’m off to the Farmer’s Market 🥕🥕 A happy day to all! 💕

  3. Hi Pam: for some reason neither the links in your blog posts nor the shopping links are working for me. It just takes me back to the blog page. I have tried refreshing my browser. It could be me and my computer, but just letting you know in case it is affecting others. Mary

  4. Because I like a more understated style, most geometrics are a bit too bold for me, but I did like the foulard shirt from The Loft & the Adrianna Papell sweater. Connie’s trefoil print also sounds like it would be more to my liking. I think I would prefer a uniform print in a uniform color scheme as opposed to a mixture of prints & color.

  5. I sometimes buy geometric prints, but have realized they always end up in my “donations” bag, so I won’t be indulging in this trend. I’m trying to buy fewer, better quality pieces going forward, in colors and prints that I feel like I will wear long-term. I was very tempted by the cardigan from Chico’s with the blue and coral design, but when I tried it on in-store I felt it was just too overwhelming. I’m definitely jumping in on the fall jewelry trends you shared earlier this week, though! I’m also using the “less but better” rule for updating my jewelry collection. I bought a bunch of Anne Klein pieces from Macy’s, including the green brooch you showed us, and I splurged on a black onyx pendant as a belated bday gift to myself! I have several of my mama’s brooches that I look forward to wearing, along with the new ones I’ve bought in the past year. Thanks for keeping us updated on the trends as we move into fall shopping!

  6. Uh oh, here come a few comments on your recent posts from the infamous Chris who started the tuck or untuck controversy:

On Bohemian chic: met a friend who is young enough to be my daughter for coffee and we were both wearing black cotton dresses with funky jewelry and accessories. Her dress was lower cut and had big sleeves, while mine was midi length and sleeveless. We joked that we’d both received the lbd memo. My Chico’s round rattan handbag, a couple of chunky necklaces, and beige mules completed my look while she had a colorful necklace and a wildly patterned multi-colored handbag.

For Texas I’d define the epitome of boho chic for an “autumn” in the hot “summer” (LOL) as a long flowing brown/copper cotton or linen dress with one big authentic piece of turquoise Indian jewelry. (versus piles of costume jewelry) Tres chic.

On wide wide versus skinny jeans:
I one hundred percent believe it depends on what you style them with. Doesn’t anyone remember when many of us harumphed “I will NEVER wear those skinny things” ??!! I think it’s the same way now, we just aren’t accustomed to the almost bell bottom look.

IMHO if the cut of one of your separates is big, wide, or over- sized, etc. the other separate should be the opposite. Skinny jeans kind of cry out for a longer, larger top, unless one is a size two. Those darn size twos in the ads can get away with almost anything. Sigh, such is life.

IMHO wide leg pants look better with a cropped, more fitted top.

Chicos has “taught” us that a column of one solid color (e.g. a tank and more closely fitting bottoms) is flattering with a SLIGHTLY oversized duster. IMHO even if you used the same colors and the same duster it would look weird with wide pants.

    On double breasted anything:
I’m 73, five one, 38DDD, and weigh 150, I personally would never ever wear anything double breasted. Who wants my very ample girls doubled? LOL…..all that extra fabric, all those buttons…. sigh, even unbuttoned they are still there! I don’t want any buttons anywhere near the girls.

I know you have a brand deal with Chicos (who I love btw) and I think for a tallish “autumn” their tweed olive “cardigan blazer” could be stunning, see number 570373947. The jacket length is 28 inches, I think, so this would fit me more like a duster.

Lastly, IMHO I believe fit is extremely important and I love that more companies are publishing the jacket length and inseam lengths on their clothing listings. It would be nice if they would also include sleeve lengths and pants widths. A girl can dream, huh?

    Again, just my opinions.
    Peace out,
    Chris

  7. I just read that geometric prints confuse the eye and help camouflage problem areas. Food for thought.
