NEW AT TALBOTS FOR CLASSIC FALL OUTFITS: CARDIGAN FAVORITES
There is so much to see new at Talbots for classic fall outfits, and I am only going to skim the surface for you.
This post focuses mainly on pieces for you to top off those classic fall outfits…I will do my best to do a what’s on the bottom post soon.
One of my favorites in the new at Talbots is this TURTLENECK SWEATER SHELL in the ivory color (it does come in two more colors).
This is perfect for those who live in warmer climates and do not need the sleeves under cardigans and jackets…it is a very chic piece.
Here I am wearing it with a new design of the Kate Cardigan…this is the TALBOTS KATE CARDIGAN In METALLIC, ivory/toasted coconut stripe.
I already picked up a solid gold Kate Cardigan in the Red Door Sale, and I am considering this shell for when weather is cooler.
Another one of my picks is a light weight top that you could wear in early fall for your classic fall outfits.
This is the PATCH POCKET CARDIGAN in deep moss. Online, Talbots has also styled it over a striped top.
Finally, in cardigans today in the new at Talbots for classic fall outfits is another lovely shade of blue.
The beautiful blouse is the SOFT SATIN CHARMEUSE BUTTON FRONT SHIRT IN DARK TEAL.
On me, my current XL size in this blouse is a tiny bit small at the hip….but if I tucked in the shirt, it would fit just fine.
I wore it with the TWEED CREWNECK CARDIGAN in blue haze multi.

NEW AT TALBOTS FOR CLASSIC FALL OUTFITS: TOPS
I am a fan of the Johnny Collar tops, and you will find several options in what’s new at Talbots for your classic fall outfits.
These lattice designs are beautiful.
The first one I am wearing here is the LATTICE CABLE JOHNNY COLLAR SWEATER in ivory and gold…so perfect for classic fall outfits.
The gorgeous royal blue is the LATTICE CABLE JOHNNY COLLAR SWEATER in six solid colors…including a great classic navy.
I took this top in the dressing room because I loved the blue. It is more casual than some of the others, but I like it.
This is a Haven color called neptune…and it is very nice.
And now, working on this post, I discover that it is the ORGANIC COTTON KNOT STITCH CARDIGAN…You do need something underneath if you wear it as a stand alone top.
Should be above in cardigans…put I considered it more of a top.

Let’s round this out with my picks in the new at Talbots outerwear for classic fall outfits.
I love this casual jacket! Super cute.
It is the QUILTED BARN JACKET in Indigo Blue.
Some of you may enjoy this combination for fall.
This is the QUILTED JACKET in the color called fanfare.
Underneath is the CREWNECK TEE in Lapis Multi.
Vests are definitely on trend for fall.
This is the QUILTED SWEATER PUFFER VEST...and it is shows more of your shape if zipped.
I have It on with this pure cashmere sweater I showed you in the other post. It is the dark walnut AUDREY CASHMERE SWEATER .

Well, I do love maroon, and it wasn’t much in evidence last year, so I look forward to adding a bit of that. I have a version of the striped cardigan you wore in your first pic, but mine has a subtle cable perpendicular to the stripes (Red Hanger sale also). I bought a lady jacket this spring, but haven’t worn it much, and now think of it as a fashion miss, as, while it hit my adjectives, it’s too feminine for my style. I’m wondering if I should tweak my adjectives to make sure I don’t do this again, but “tomboy” certainly doesn’t fit a woman who is so into statement accessories. I’m casual, polished (same reason as you, so I don’t lean too far into sloppy), interesting, active, aware. Even though it was a comfortable knit, did the lady jacket miss “active”? Wondering if “natural” should replace casual. Do you have any ideas?
Talbots has some beautiful things for fall. I am a fan of cardigans because you can just layer them to keep warm or just wear it as a top. Such pretty colors. Thanks for the ideas.

I love the first picture with the tan stripes on the slightly fitted cardigan. That fit is perfect. I don’t care for the boxy look on my already thick waist. It looks great on you with the soft turtleneck.

I love the classic vibe of Talbot’s, but it’s rare that their clothing fits me. As you mentioned, they tend to be narrow at the hem compared to the rest of the garments, and they are almost always too short on me. I wish they could offer a “tall” fit like JJill and Chico’s. Thanks for bringing us these glimpses of fall, which feel like aloe vera on a fresh burn to those of us struggling with the heat this week. It’s only 100 here today and it feels noticeably cooler, so I’m thankful for that.

Hi Esther, thank you for stopping by. The reason I did not link to the pants is that these are last year’s navy linen at Talbots. They have been great linen pants. This dressing room try-on was to feature tops.
Thanks for the post of such lovely Fall clothing! Too bad that we receive a limited selection in Talbot’s Canadian stores. It was understandable during the pandemic yet has continued. Are they planning to leave our market like J. Crew?
