Shopping Target for New Home Needs

Target for new home basics

Happy Thursday!  Today I am shopping Target for new home basics.

You may be surprised that I am doing this so early when a few boxes are still unpacked.

Since I keep up with the news, I noticed that there is a current dock workers strike on at many major ports including in Texas.

I knew that I have several small needs for our new home, and that I could go to Target for new home basics… and going now made more since to me (because the supply chain could be affected).

So, I went to check out the local Target and though it is not a Super Target, I was pleasantly surprised in all that I discovered.

So, join me today as I discuss what I have learned shopping Target for new home basics.

SHOPPING TARGET FOR NEW HOME BASICS: IN THE BATH

Target for new home

I now have 4 1/2 bathrooms to supply with new home basics…such as trash cans, toilet paper holders, towel racks, shower currents, etc.

So, my first place to go when shopping Target for new home basics was Target Home on the bath aisles.

After looking through Bath aisles, I found out that the collection I like most is the Target Threshold selections…more my traditional, French country style.

In the top picture, I found (what I believe) is a perfect shower curtain for the bath with the lovely green tile.

This is the lovely TRADITIONAL TOILE GARDEN FLORAL SHOWER CURTAIN.

I have the perfect picture for this bath which will go so well with the shower curtain and tile design…of course, I will show you when we get it all done.

The master bath is full of wood and dark gray designs.

I actually love gray and brown together, so I decided to add the Target for new home basics in gray in this bath.

Mr. B likes the bath mats I chose…they look good and are very cushy/comfy on the feet.

The collection is Room Essentials at Target.

I chose the CHUNKY CHENILLE CUSHION FOAM BATH RUGS in Dark Gray…because of the bathroom design, I went with three small rugs over one large.

The half bath is in need of a repair…on the toilet seat!

Target sells a seat that is suppose to fit all styles…so it is really in my Target new home basics.

I will let you know if it fits this Kohler toilet as it claims it will.

This is the KENDALL NEVER LOOSENS ENAMELED WOOD TOILET SEAT WITH EASY CLEANING WHISPER WHITE.

SHOPPING TARGET FOR NEW HOME BASICS:  MAGNOLIA HEARTH & HAND

Target for new home basics

I did spend a little time looking over the Target Magnolia Hearth & Hand section.

But, remember I was shopping Target for new home basics and not seasonal decor.

Then I saw this cup holder…THE MAGNOLIA HEARTH & HAND MUG TREE IN WOOD AND BRASS.

The cabinet where I have coffee & tea mugs is small, so I plan to use this tree for my holiday mugs and hope to have the fall mugs on it soon.

SHOPPING TARGET FOR NEW HOME BASICS: HOME BASICS SUCCESS

Target for new home basics

This trip was a success for shopping Target for new home basics.

I also left with a new door mat and a few grocery items.

The THRESHHOLD LOVERS KNOT DOOR MAT NEUTRAL  is for the front door.

This is my first shopping trip out and about and I also spent some time driving around to see what all I recognized.

Tomorrow, I will share with you what I wore for my first day out and about to meet Abilene commerce.

Let me know if you have any questions about shopping Target for new home basics…and then until tomorrow….

  1. As you know one needs to live in a house a little while to feel comfortable with the placement of furniture and especially kitchen items. In the kitchen I tended to
place dishes, etc. relative to the dishwasher which makes it much easier to put items away. I certainly hope that you and Mr. B are settling in well, and not feeling overwhelmed with unopened boxes. All in due time…as the saying goes.

  2. I am not a big Target shopper but it does carry so many essentials and it’s easy to get “swept away” with so many things you never thought you needed! I know it is probably way too early to give a tour or your new home but could you post a picture of the exterior Pam?

I can imagine how wonderful it must be to be near your daughter and grandchildren!

  3. I will post that when I get a few things done out there, Kelly. It is crazy here right now!

  4. You are finding some fun basics. I really like the shower curtain and tiles together, so pretty! Your new kitchen appears to be pleasantly light-filled. (White kitchens are my favorite.)

  5. Nice! What I thought was wallpaper was actually your tile, which I am crazy about! That curtain is fantastic with it. What fun outfitting all new spaces!

  6. Pam – would like to compliment you on that chenille bathroom rug….my son has the same in his bathrooms; and, when I visit him, my tootsies feel great when getting out of the shower. It’s always fun to find “treasures” at Target; the selection(s) are amazing. Have fun!

  7. All the younger women in our family seem to love Target. I’m torn! I occasionally find everything I need but other times not a thing I’m looking for in color or size etc. Then self-check out? No! Not happy!

  8. Target is a great resource for bath and bed linens. I have purchased shower curtains, sheets and lights in the past and found them to be of very good quality!

  9. I find my best stuff at Target when I don’t need anything. When I do, I seem to come up empty. But for things like wastebaskets and bath rugs, it’s hard to beat. I love the tile with the floral shower curtain. Very elegant.

  10. They have checkers here and I agree that self check can be annoying. This is the first time I have set foot in Target over a year, but I am pleased with my purchases!

  11. If I still had a shower where I used shower curtains this would be the one I would pick!! It’s gorgeous!!!

  12. Thanks Denise…I will share soon where I bought some new sheets that I am very happy about.

  13. I like the Threshold brand at Target, too. I purchased a really nice summer-weight blanket several years ago & am quite pleased with it. It has been washed multiple times & is still in excellent condition. I have other items by Threshold & find that they are good quality, especially for the price. Enjoy making your new space your home. Like all things, it is a process. I am two years into widowhood & am still working at our house into my home.

  14. Thanks for sharing your experience with Threshhold, Becky! We can work through creating our spaces together!

  15. I love Threshold sheet sets! We have a King bed, and the fitted sheet in the set has labels indicating sides, or top or bottom. So helpful in making up a big bed! Plus they wash and dry beautifully.
Welcome to your new home and settling in and fixing it up to your tastes, Pamela!

  16. I love Target, I always feel that I get the Pottery Barn vibe, at Target prices. Threshhold is great and so is Magnolia. If I need a quick pick up to my kitchen or bath..Target is the first place I go, especially with the Red Card discount and Target Circle.. can’t wait to see your new finished home……what an adventure…

  17. Thanks for sharing, Cristi…I agree that would be very helpful! Next time I need sheets, I will check them out!

  18. I wish we had a Target near enough to shop. I would have to buy online. Thank you ladies for telling me which are the brands to look for online. Target fits my budget constraints. I love your choice of shower curtain to go with your tiled bathroom. I can’t wait to see what you do with your new home.

  19. We were so excited when Target moved into Canada several years ago and then, like everyone else, terribly disappointed when it didn’t measure up to what we’d seen in the US. Not surprisingly, it didn’t last and all 133 stores across the country shut down just two years later. Glad your Target experience was a good one!

  20. Welcome to Abilene!! Glad ya’ll are here and are able to get out and about some! If you have any questions, I’d be happy to help if I can… I live near ACU so I’m not sure if we will ever cross paths but I’ll be sure and say hi if I see you!
