Sunday Reflections

Sunday Reflections

Happy, happy Sunday, everyone!  I am here with my Sunday Reflections…a lifestyle post about what is happening in my world.

In Sunday Reflections, I share a variety of different things on my mind.

For example, I am so glad I got this trench coat at Nordstrom Rack last year…this past week brought significant rain over several days.

We needed it.

I began the week returning from visiting the new grand baby, and now I have been caring for the three grandsons here while their parents travel…and they took Mr. B with them!

So these little guys have had to endure Gigi for seven days and we have three to go!

It is easy to forget how much work motherhood is, so I am glad my daughter is getting a much needed break.

It is work, but I love them dearly.

So, let’s have morning coffee together in a cozy spot and share some Sunday Reflections.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR

Sunday reflections

When I began calling this time of year, a Season of Joy, the word JOY was not being shared by many.

Now it is a buzz word in politics and advertising…so I pondered last week, if I still wanted to call this time A Season of Joy.

Then I walked into the store, Kirkland’s, and saw this…..

This little JOY NATIVITY CHRISTMAS DECOR...which obviously came home with me…says what the Season of Joy is really all about…the true source of our Joy to the World.

At that moment I decided that I would continue to promote mid-November through the end of the year as a Season of Joy, illuminated by the Light of the world.

I desire to be the one who reminds you, through the chaos, that true joy is there for all of us…and the Season of Joy shares with us peace, happiness and hope deep inside.

it is a joyous time of year for each of us, our families and friends….so I hope you will continue to celebrate this time of year with me.

The season will be very different for our own family this year, but I plan to make it more joyous… though for this year, we may not all be together.

Sunday Reflections

Like many of you, I am preparing for the Season of Joy now. …looking at my new home and what I want to do.

I like to add ornaments that serve as historical markers of our lives…and in thinking about a new ornament for this move to Cowboy Country…I found this beauty.

It is the JAMES AVERY STERLING SILVER WESTERN BOOT CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT.

If you click the link, you can watch the craftsman create it and make it.

I plan to stop by the local James Avery store and have it engraved for Abilene, 2024!  The big move.

I have two windows at the front of my house in a rectangular shape.

So, when I was asked to test and review these lights, I immediately thought of these windows and got a box for each.

I will let you know how they do once we get lights up for the holidays.

These are QUNTIS CHRISTMAS SNOWFLAKE LIGHTS on Amazon.

I am looking forward to getting these lights going!  There are several options also on the Amazon page for this brand.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS:  HOME UPDATE

Sunday Reflections

I know I promised a rollout today of new lights to replace the monkeys…

However, the contractor had to re-schedule for this week…so I hope so much to share with you next Sunday what is in these boxes!

I also hope next week to have the master bedroom painted….we are getting there …faster than I thought…so I cannot complain.

Once I give my precious grandsons back to mom & dad, I hope to get out and about again and bring to you some fun.

Thank you for joining me today…it has been a wonderful week (when it starts with a new grandson how can it not be wonderful?)

Please share any Sunday Reflections of your own….and I will see you tomorrow….please know that I am so thankful for everyone here!

  1. We are keeping out one year old grandson just overnight and I’m exhausted! (But oh how I love showing him off at church service this morning) Your grandsons will cherish the memories that you are creating. Have a blessed three more days and safe travels for their parents and Mr. B.

  2. If we can’t have “joy”, what would the alternative be? My mom, who would have been 100 this year, had friends with names that included Joy, Hope, Gaye. I have extensive family tree information, some going back to the 1600s. My favorite names are Remembrance and Endeavor. Have fun with the boys! Yes, exhausting but precious. Perhaps there will be a girlfriend trip in your future!

  3. I love the idea of naming girls Joy, Hope, Faith, Grace….such powerful names. I hope to always be a voice for God’s Joy.
Leigh Ann may come for a visit and some girlfriend fun!

  4. Pamela, I plan to visit Buffalo Gap next week after your fun account of your day there! And I wanted to recommend that you come to Fort Worth for a day or two. We have great restaurants, good shopping and wonderful museums. It is about 2 hours away for you!

  5. Hi Darlene, now that I am closer, Ft. Worth is definitely on my calendar! But it will probably be after the first of the year. Our other blog community member, Texas Aggie Mom, has encouraged me to come…perhaps we can all meet for lunch!

  6. Wow my 2 grandkids 6 and 4 exhaust us in 1 day!! One is hyper, but I do have a medical condition I describe as an energy crisis lol. My husband saves the day though newly retired.
Can’t wait to see your new lights!!

  7. I am an Aggie mom…and a Baylor mom…and a Roadrunner mom! And a Longhorn! We cover many bases around here! We will make lunch happen!

  8. I am sure your daughter appreciates you taking care of the boys while they travel. While it must be tiring for you, your grandsons will always remember this special time with you. Love the new addition to your Christmas decor. Its never too early to focus on the true meaning of the joy of his birth. My nativity sets are the first decoration I put up and the last to be packed away. Enjoy decorating your new home. I look forward to seeing the changes. Maybe it will inspire me to do something new.

  9. I am on my own this time…usually, having Mr. B makes a big difference. But, Tux is filling in where he can!

  10. I agree…never too early. I am not one to decorate the whole house yet…love my autumn decor. But this year…it might be earlier than before!

  11. I love those snowflake lights! They went on my wish list! Just hearing about my great grandchildren’s antics makes me tired! You are going to need some naps in three days! I’m looking forward to seeing all of your changes you are making to your new home.

  12. Joy is one of my favorite words & truly represents how I feel about the season. I’m glad you shared the joy decoration you found & glad you brought it home with you. I am always on the lookout for joy decorations myself. Enjoy those grandsons!

  13. Keep the JOY for this season. For me it brings hope. The Joy nativity ornament is so on my wishlist. Blessings

  14. I can’t wait to meet up with you and Darlene in Fort Worth! Things will be a little crazy for me around the first of the year when I am finally able to take possession of my long-awaited Craftsman bungalow on Fort Worth’s near southside, just a few blocks from the house I came home to as a newborn in 1959. But I will gladly accommodate your schedule when you have time to head this way. Please feel free to share my contact info with Darlene, and we will proudly introduce you to our favorite places in Cowtown!
