Top of the tops in new arrivals

tops in new arrivals

Happy Thursday, all!  Today, let’s look over my top of the tops in new arrivals.

These are my top picks amidst the tops in new arrivals for the top favorite three brands of this blog audience…complete with sale information I know of today.

It is so incredibly cold here…as low as nine degrees these last few days of the week.

I am watching a light snow blow off the rooftops…smoke curling out from chimneys…and a postman all bundled up delivering mail home to home.

Seasons are so amazing, because they are fresh and new and bring change every three months or so.

It is refreshing to be at my desk watching winter’s grip outside, and still bring the hope of spring to you in the new arrivals.

Let’s cozy-up and see what the new arrivals have for us…because spring will definitely come and somethings the top of the tops go quickly.

TOP OF THE TOPS IN NEW ARRIVALS: TALBOTS (WITH A SALE)

tops in new arrivals

Talbots new catalog has arrived along with a 25% off sale on regular priced tops through Sunday, February 23.

They preview many new tops in new arrivals, but I did select a few top ones that you may not want to miss.

The first picture in today’s post is the MODERN CLASSIC SHIRT in GARDEN BLOOMS.

The second picture is also a MODERN CLASSIC SHIRT but in SPRING TRELLIS.

I do love the contrasting prints on the cuffs and collars of these shirts….and in dots!

Denim tops in new arrivals are on trend and will be in many different designs.

Also, for the same ones who love feminine tops in cool colors, then make sure you see…

this EMBROIDERED POPLIN TOP…oh how I wish this was offered in a warm color as well.

A favorite way of mine to transition from winter to spring is to wear tees similar to this one with a denim jacket.

This is the THREE-QUARTER SLEEVE TEE BUTTERFLY…and a great way to wear a warmer color and sneak in the blue & white trend we discussed last Saturday.

Just remember, all Talbots tops in new arrivals are 25% off through Sunday.

TOP OF THE TOPS IN NEW ARRIVALS: CHICO’S

tops in new arrivals

There are always white button down tops among the tops in new arrivals, and for those who wear them, this one looks worth your time.

It is the CHICO’S TENCEL DENIM BUTTON DOWN in alabaster and it also comes in a lovely pink called dried roses.

I like that the pockets are smaller than you often see and I am a big fan of Tencel.

Personally, I think this top is lovely and could be dressed up or down.

It is the CHICO’S NO IRON JACQUARD SHIRT in the color mineral green.

The top of the tops in new arrivals at Chico’s must include NO IRON TOPS which are extremely popular and offered in many colors and prints.

Here is one more!

This is the smokey taupe NO IRON SATEEN OASIS SHIRT.

Another lovely color in the new arrivals is rosewood.

This is the ZENERGY DOUBLE KNIT EMBROIDERED TOP.

Denim tops in the new arrivals come in many forms.

I want to make sure you see this one, the DENIM V NECK TEE…looks like a great tee.

I overall believe that a V-Neck is the most flattering neckline on any woman.

Our faces are opened up and brighter (no matter your neck), and it draws the eye line down to offer a slimming technique.

TOP OF THE TOPS IN NEW ARRIVALS: J.JILL

tops in new arrivals

I only a found a few in the J.Jill new arrivals that I believed were must-see top of tops in new arrivals.

But, I know more new arrivals are on the way for spring.

I found this first one to be very casual chic online.

It is the PURE JILL TEXTURED COTTON-GAUZE COLLARED TOP.

You will see that there are also matching pants to pair with this one.

This top is beautiful and would even look great under a third piece.

It is the PRINTED CRINKLE-TEXTURED TOP in a print called willow exquisite medallion.

Eyelet was big last year and I am glad to see that it will be hanging around in tops in new arrivals.

This is the EYELET BUTTON-FRONT TOP in aegean green.

Gingham in spring colors is always showing up in many places.

This is the ONE-POCKET SHIRRED-BACK SHIRT in a sagebrush gingham print.

These are my picks for TOP of the TOPS in NEW ARRIVALS...I promise to keep you up-to-date when I see new arrivals I believe you need to know about.

  1. We are freezing along with you in Fort Worth, where the wind chill as I write this is only TWO degrees! I’m sure our northern sisters chuckle at how ill-prepared our homes, closets and infrastructure are for this sort of weather. I am just thankful none of the precipitation we got has been sticking, so travel is not impacted this time. Spring isn’t far away, though – I just checked the forecast for my moving days next week and it will be in the 70’s those days! It is so nice to dream of warmer weather and see all the new spring styles starting to drop this month. From this group my favorites are the sage green jacquard shirt from Chico’s and the gauze coordinates from JJill. I need to check out both of those in the stores because I’m picky about how certain fabrics feel. It’s good to know gingham prints are still having a moment, because I just found a fantastic buy on an Eileen Fisher organic linen gingham shirt in black and sage green at Nordstrom Rack that I plan to wear to death, along with another from JJill in peach and ivory that I bought a few years ago. Even when I wouldn’t wear certain pieces like a lot of those busy prints shown this year, I love seeing what’s out there and I always find inspiration in these posts. Thanks for keeping us current!

  2. I will pray for your move to be an easy one with perfect weather. And, yes to the gingham…it looks refreshing to me.

  3. Thank you for showing us such a variety of tops for spring. Like you I wish that embroidered poplin top was offered in a warm color. I almost never wear prints but I love more subtle details like the butterfly appliqued top. Wish I could wear indigo but I’ve learned it doesn’t work for me. The J Jill tops are cute too and the colors appeal to me. My last catalog indicated the store is slated to reopen sometime this spring. The local Talbot’s employees reported that if the store reopens it won’t be for another year and no word on Chico’s reopening. I drove through Biltmore Village last week on my way to the eye doctor and most of it still looks like a war zone. I suspect they will need to gut the buildings and rebuild the insides. Freezing here with nasty winds but thankfully we only got a trace of snow and no ice.

  4. I do hope that “war zone” will be mostly gone by summer and that more help is on the way. I have to drive to go to these stores as well so I know the challenge it is. These tops show that spring fashions will be lovely!

  5. Many lovely tops, florals are beautiful, but I don’t wear them much as a petite. Looking forward to spring when we can layer our tops!

  6. Thanks for collating these finds today. I was drawn to the gingham, then found a second pretty option which was a tone-on-tone paisley in “sea mist” – also a very pretty top for spring.

  7. I too love that gingham, and even though it’s a rather feminine pattern, I think I would like it in this type of style (no ruffles for me, as one of my style adjectives is active). I loved the Chicos green jaquard shirt. Many of the other prints don’t fit my spring style, which is heavy on Breton stripes and no iron linen. But they are very pretty and I can imagine many ladies looking lovely in them. I will check out that denim tee as it certainly looks to be my vibe, and a versatile basic.

  8. It has been very cold here as well. Our low was 5 degrees yesterday. It was 15 degrees when I got up. It should be in the 60s by this weekend but we are getting more snow tonight and tomorrow. I love seeing the medallion and the butterfly design shirts. I love to wear gauze as well. These are still too expensive for my budget but fun to see. I hope the cold leaves soon for all of us and spring blooms.

  9. I also thought that tee to be a great basic. One of the reasons I included it. Thanks Linda!

  10. I’m sorry you are experiencing our Midwest weather in Texas. We are expecting temperatures in the 40’s next week & rain, so maybe the snow will finally clear away. After a large amount of snow earlier in the year, we have been getting an inch or two here & there just enough to be annoying. I love the white blouse from Talbot’s, especially the scalloped sleeves. It would be so pretty with a jacket in early spring & on its own for summer. Of course, gingham always signals spring for me.
Stay warm & keep thinking those springtime thoughts.

  11. You as well, Becky. We are wimps because we do not experience it as long as many of you do. I personally think the air is very refreshing…I heard today that by Monday it will be 80! That’s Texas for you.

  12. Part of team freezing up here in Maine this past week. Thanks for putting this together! The green eyelet top is just lovely. Stay warm!

  13. Oh, that Aegean green eyelet from J. Jill is calling to me. I can’t wear many greens, but that one and forest are good for me. Thanks for saving me tons of time in my spring online shopping.
