Spring Outfits with Special Details

spring outfits

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today I am discussing Spring Outfits with Special Details!

My spring outfits with special details are ways for me to speak my creative style adjective.

Special details can also speak adjectives like dramatic, artistic, current, and fashionable.

I told you yesterday that many women at the tea party noticed the special details on my pants.

I love the little special details that make spring outfits special…and I do love accessories as well.

So, let’s look at a few spring outfits with special details on today’s market…beginning with my next look in my new spring palette.

SPRING OUTFITS WITH SPECIAL DETAILS: CHICO’S

spring outfits

I am having so much fun this year with my spring outfits.

Previously, springtime was a bit stressful with an autumn palette…but this year, it has been nothing but fun finding my new SPRING PALETTE for spring outfits.

A fresh breeze has blown through my closet.

Chico’s is one of the brands that master special details the best.

My spring outfit today is composed of these pieces:

THE BRIGITTE CUTOUT PULL-ON CROP PANT in melon mambo…I ordered these after the green ones captured my heart…they are comfortable and fun.

The RIBBED CROCHET-TRIMMED TANK in melon mambo will work well for many spring outfits in my new wardrobe.  I really like the special details at the top of this tank.

The JACQUARD KIMONO-STYLE CARDIGAN…very pretty and also will play well with my spring outfits.

During the time of my youngest son’s wedding events two years ago, I picked up this SOUTHERN LIVING NECKLACES…this one seems to be sold out…but I do love their necklaces for special details.

This is a great spring outfit for me where I live for either morning or evening events when it is cooler.

If you love spring outfits with special details, I want to point out a few garments at Chico’s.

This Linen V-Neck Cutout Maxi Dress comes in misses and petite sizes…it looks like a refreshing beauty for those who wear white.

Chico’s has several jackets with special details, but this one looks particularly lovely to elevate a spring casual outfit.

It is the FLORAL LINEN NON-STRETCH BLAZER.

I think this one is very nice with the cutout details and soft neutrals.

It is the FLORAL CUTOUT DENIM JACKET.

I have had my eye on this one since it hit the website.

This is the LACE DETAIL FLUTTER SLEEVE TOP…it looks beautiful.

SPRING OUTFITS WITH SPECIAL DETAILS: JC PENNEY

And you can find savings for your spring outfits with special details at JC Penney.

Both of these examples are in the Liz Claiborne department.

I, for one, love these sleeves and color of the first top.

It is the LIZ CLAIBORNE ROUND NECK SHORT SLEEVE BLOUSE in the color called lovely rose…looks like it would work for a spring palette!

Today is the last day to use the code ZINNIA, and get this top for $24.64!

This is a short sleeve sweater but I saw it on a mannequin at JCP and it is very pretty…the green is soft and lovely.

This is the LIZ CLAIBORNE WOMENS CREWNECK EMBELLISHED SHORT SLEEVE PULLOVER SWEATER…and with the same code it is $30.24 through today.

SPRING OUTFITS WITH SPECIAL DETAILS: TWO MORE BRANDS

spring outfits

VIVAIA is a shoe brand that loves special details.

The ALMOND KNOTTED FLATS (called Bibi) come in many ways to wear special details for spring outfits.

Finally, I had to share this short trench coat with the special details in the back.

I think it is so much fun.  This is the BODEN MAYFAIR CROPPED TRENCH.

I love to look fun coming and going!

I also love to add special details to my spring home decor.

These gorgeous begonias are in two places and I love them so….

Thanks for joining me today for Spring outfits with Special Details!

I hope to see you back tomorrow….until then…

  1. I never got a chance to comment about the tea party. I really enjoyed seeing it and all the fun fashionable women, including you, in attendance. What a great way to celebrate Palm Sunday. Your melon outfit today is outstanding and the necklace you are wearing is the perfect accent. L I have looked longingly at it as I have a number of the spring Chico’s offerings you showed us but I think they are just too light for my palette or too long for me. Love the detail on that denim jacket and wish it was just a little warmer. I’m glad that the colors and styles are working for you especially since you are in a new and exciting color season. Lately I’ve had a lot of disappointments ordering online from Chico’s, mostly falling between size issues. I’m just about ready to give up shopping online except for shoes from brands I that always work for me. Vivia is one of those. I have 4 pair and love them.

  2. It is really remarkable the way this new spring pallets enlivens you. You look fabulous!

  3. I really want to encourage anyone experiencing issues with ordering online fro Chico’s to let them know. I think it is so important for a brand to here when someone is about to make decision like this. I certainly let them know when there is a problem. I am so glad you liked the tea party post…it was tons of fun…I love events like that. I wish I could wear Vivia…their shoes are so cute…but the botched foot surgery changed that.

  4. I also really like you in these new colors. although there were plenty in your autumn palette I liked as well. My question is how do you know which color system to go with? They are not inexpensive and seemingly as an autumn you were mistyped. Do you feel that because the spring palette feels more authentically you. I know everything can be a learning experience, but for many people we cant afford a lot of wrong choices.
I’m just curious as to what other people looking for a color system should be aware of or look for. Did your previous autumn palette ever seem wrong to you or possibly too heavy? If you answered this previously I apologize, but I may have missed it. I have been typed as an autumn and I believe i am through and through, I need a grounding to my shoes and outfits, that I think is missing from springs.

  5. Hi Natalie, I encourage you to read my posts:https://over50feeling40.com/2025/03/my-journey-with-color-analysis-the-history.html
    and https://over50feeling40.com/2025/03/review-of-house-of-colour-color-analysis.html
    These posts answer your questions.
First, go with professionals Like House of Colour who do this in person in many locations…you need to see it for yourself. The wrong colors cast shadows on your face making us look older and unhealthy.
Please read these two posts and then let me know if you still have questions.

  6. I love Vivia shoes, and have several pairs. The new Urban flats and sneakers have a much larger toe box, and might be worth another try. The advertisements I’m seeing on You Tube show it for many different “foot” (i.e., toe) structures. I’m finding a lot of spring fashion this year is too feminine for my adjectives, but this is good information. I might avoid some expensive mistakes. I’ve been shopping Gap a lot more lately, because they are a bit more tailored and even Breton-style, than I’m seeing this season in my usual Talbots, Chicos and JJill. I’ve had my eye on that Boden trench for a while, and see it’s selling out. We will see, I guess. It’s a want, not a need.

  7. Once again, you are shining in your new spring colors! I loved seeing you create a “column of color” with the coral separates. Somehow I always think of doing that with darker colors, but this looks fantastic! I’m seeing a consistent level of formality in your new pieces, which all say “elevated casual” to me – just perfect for the life you’re living in this new chapter. I smiled when I saw the Vivaia Bibi flats featured. I had my eye on that style in a floral spring print with a lot of turquoise in it. I finally splurged on a Peruvian Connection dress in the same color, intending to order the shoes and call it my Easter outfit. I’m sad to say that the print I wanted was out of stock by the time I went back to order the shoes. I can’t wear all styles in that brand, but the almond toe flats sometimes work for me. Hoping someday you might have a discount code for this brand, as they are expensive. Like Kathie, I’ve had some issues ordering from Chico’s online. They ship an item in an incorrect size but show the size you ordered on the invoice. When you try to return the incorrect size at their local store the staff act like you stole them and swear they cannot process your return because you don’t have a receipt for that size. It’s maddening, and both times it happened I had to escalate to the corporate level. I finally received one refund, but one never was resolved to my satisfaction. Honestly, it’s been your very favorable posts on Chico’s offerings that has me shopping with them again – thanks for being such a good brand ambassador!

  8. Oh. I love your rosy pink outfit on you! So far you are doing great on you spring colors. I love so many of these but I’m a cool summer. Buy your colors while they are available. Mine are not so much. But that is good as our budget was blown with the new Rinnai tankless water heater, which is fantastic by the way. Then the furnace broke two parts, then we had to have an electrician replace an integrated LED fixture in our laundry room. I hope that does it for a while. I am enjoying looking at all of your beautiful new clothes.

  9. I enjoyed seeing the special items you added to your outfits. You have so many beautiful accessories and it is always fun to see how you add them for the finished look

  10. Hi Pam,
I thought about you this morning as we were driving into town. You ask why???
In front of us in another lane there was a car with a WONDERFUL personalized Arizona (where we live) license plate that read, “LIV JOY”. I that that has Pam’s name on it. Maybe she is part of your fan club on the blog.

  11. I do love accessories…fashioning an outfit can be like painting a picture…thanks Audrey.

  12. I think a column of color works well, no matter the color. I wear this technique often for slimming my style. Thanks for sharing all you did here. I wish Chico’s read these comments…I think it would help them.
