The Thursday Edit

Happy Thursday! I am so excited that we have a significant cool front on the way, and that it is the day for The Thursday Edit.
The Thursday Edit is a day when I show you outfits I have pulled together from my wardrobe and explain what I did.
Yes, my wardrobe has several name brand designs in it, but it really is a combination of those brands and my thrift shopping.
I have been a vintage-thrift-consignment shopper for about 20 years and love this type of shopping…especially, since I tend to love the creativity of it.
I am glad to have a few good vintage stores in Abilene, but I do miss the vintage shopping in San Antonio.
It seems that I always find a cherished treasure during each trip.
So, let’s see how I married thrift finds and my regular wardrobe together today.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – THE WESTERN TREND

I wrote about the current western trend last week during the return of Would You Wear It?
When I wear “western,” it is usually understated and ot too over-the-top…despite being a Texas lady.
When I discovered this top recently during a stop at a vintage shop, I immediately thought…this is perfect for me!
It is really more subtle western ….believe it or not.

The colors are excellent, and the 100% rayon, is very cool and comfortable.
The top is from a brand called LUCKY & BLESSED. You can see here that it leans heavily into western.
I paired it with an older cream colored denim jacket from Chico’s and brown denim jeans from Talbots (also older).
The accessories are:
The beautiful Johanne Satchel by Patricia Nash Designs. (this tooled leather certainly is a nod to western)
My new light brown suede EASY SPIRIT JOANDRA CASUAL LOAFERS. Remember, if you shop Easy Spirit, use the discount code PAMELA20 for an additional 20% off. This shoe is comfortable for easy walking days…not long walking.
The DIFF BELLA SUNGLASSES...that I love and wear daily!
My bronze cross necklace is another thrift store find. Every time I wear it, someone asks where I found it.
This is my kind of western and I am so glad that I found the blouse. I am ready to go out and about in my Texas town.
When the weather turns colder, I am more likely to wear a western-style outfit with boots…and, yes, my boots are also from Easy Spirit.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – ANOTHER OUTFIT

In the closet clean recently, I found this little jacket which is now a bit oversized.
The brand is FENINI.
If you like comfy artisan style, you might watch for this brand when thrifting.
I really must be a little weary of my dark wash jeans, because I keep reaching for these light wash jeggings. I have seen so many fun ways to style them online all year long.
My necklace is a recent consignment shop find for $9…and I am certain, I will wear it often.
The shoes are my favorite walking shoes (I can go miles in these). They are the EASY SPIRIT RAYNA CASUAL LOAFERS in taupe.
THE THURSDAY EDIT – ANOTHER SALE

I will style these cute sneakers for you soon that I just received from YELLOWBOX…with bling!
They are the NIZZA COURT SNEAKER in light gold…they also come in burgundy and black.
Today is the beginning of a big sale through October 20. Use the Discount Code 26FALL to shop the YELLOWBOX SALE.
It is their first big sale of the season and a couple of popular new arrivals are already sold out.
I hope you continue to enjoy The Thursday Edit.
Tomorrow is a new feature suggested by one of you…a Vintage: How to Style It?
I will show you vintage pieces occasionally and ask how you would style the piece.
Just pretend that you are shopping with a friend…she tried on the selected item…she likes it, but asks...How Would You Style It?
I hope this will be fun for everyone.
Until tomorrow….

FIRST VINTAGE FINDS…TOMORROW! SEE YOU THEN!

I LOVE your western shirt! I love the whole outfit. It’s very flattering on you and so appropriate for Texas. And what’s even better is that you found it now when the western style is a very popular trend.
I also like the jacket in the second outfit. The length and shape are flattering with the jeans you paired it with. I’m loving the Thursday edit.
Thanks Cindy…so glad you were here today. This shirt is so soft to wear and fun as well.
The Thursday edit is so fun, in part because I get to see the bags you are carrying. I find Patricia Nash bags too heavy for me to carry comfortably, but I love them, and the one you are carrying really looks terrific with your outfit. While you are gravitating to lighter wash jeans, I’ve been really going for the darker ones, even a rinse wash. I think it’s maybe because of our different seasons … you are looking at brighter blues and I’m looking at moodier ones.
What a great outfit. The shirt is super cute and you’ve put together a really smart look. And BTW you are looking quite slim. The thrifted necklace is a real find. Its perfect for you. Thanks for the honest assessment of the new loafers. If you ever find any as good for all day walking as the Rayna let me know. I am thankful that I have 2 pair. When I have to be on my feet all day especially when I’m working an art show they are always my first choice. Wish they came in more colors.
I sit love the moody ones! And now that the weather is changing a little more, I am reaching more often for the brown ones. I have another Patricia Nash that I carried yesterday that is a cross body and lighter version…I love the versatility with her designs. thanks Linda.
I also wish the Rayna came in more colors…it is so comfy. These little shoes are perfect for my short errand days and they look very fall. I am glad I found them at such a low price to give me options. Thanks Kathie…this first outfit is fun.
I really like your Thursday edit. I get many ideas from you.
Especially the second outfit. I probably have something similar in my closet.
I just purchased a pair of shoes from yellow box. They have some nice selections.
Yellow box is new to me. I tend to live in my Easy Spirit clogs and Denise Austin sneakers for dog walks. I also have bad feet and these are comfortable all day shoes. I have all my ES shoes with your PAMELA20! Great savings!
I love your western find top on you. Great closet finds! You are definitely slimmer now. I’m glad you are feeling better as well.
Thanks so much, Paula. I am happy to give you ideas…have fun in your closet!
Thank you so much for mentioning the discount code, Sydney…it is a way to save on great footwear.
You look lovely in western and casual wear. Hugs!
Katie, it is so nice to see you here again. I have missed your joyful voice, Thanks for stopping by,
